In spite of McV never conceding that the Jetz had figured out and were always on top of screens to Puka…

Rams kept their heads down and pulled it out against a fairly tough opponent on the road in the cold.

The Jets helped the Rams out by both turning over the ball and failing on 4th down attempts inside their own territory.

Nice to see a Higbee TD.

    Wms had a great game.

Tough cold-weather game across the country and early in the day for a West Coast team.

Defense came up big on several 4th downs.

I’ll take the gritty win 🙂

Rams were helped along today by Carolina defeating the Cards. Az is eliminated, so doesn’t have the playoffs to play for next week. Just pride, I suppose.

Ugly win for the Rams? Still a victory. If they win the next two games, they’re in, as division leaders. After their terrible start, that’s an amazing turnaround.

Rex Ryan had predicted the Rams offense would have problems, because “the rams dont have any speed” and because they had trouble against San Fran, and the Jets “run the exact same defense”.

Anyway, good win. Losing teams find a way to lose.

Glad McVay just decided to pound the ball today, and let the Jets find a way to lose.

Consecutive bad weather road wins is impressive regardless of the level of competition. The Rams are looking like gutsy team.

I was not impressed with the pass rush. Even Curl‘s strip sack was a long developing play. I thought that the defense was a mixed bag today. Only giving up 9 points looks great on paper though.

Happy to see Karty bounce back after yet another missed extra point.

Kyren Williams is everything right now. Nice to see McVay leaning on the running game consistently over the past few weeks. I like this style of football

Nice recovery by Whittington on the muffed punt.

Nice recovery by Whittington on the muffed punt.

Whittington had 2 great plays on special teams. The first was to tip the punt out of the endzone so the Jets started on their 1. Then as you mention, the recovery.

That was the thing about him at Texas. He was known as a special teams ace on every STs unit there. So he would block, cover, and run returns.

Nice to see all that translating to the pros.

This is what I came to say.

Winning an ugly game is better than losing an ugly game. And the Rams have done it twice in the row, on the road, in bad weather. And I think the Jets are more talented than their record.

I was also disheartened by the lack of pressure. They only got pressure when Rogers held on a couple of beats too long. I thought Shula would blitz more in the 2nd half, but they just stuck with the plan. It worked, I guess. But if the Rams gave Goff that kind of time, he would put up a 40-spot on them.

It’s frustrating to see the Jets put together so many long drives. 2 14-play drives, a 15-play drive, and an 11-play drive.

Yeah that was more than a bend don’t break defense.

It was a bend, then bend some more, then bend again, then even more bending, and finally–keep bending defense.

But as JB Long points out in a tweet in a different thread, that’s the first time the Rams have allowed under 10 points in consecutive games since 2015. And there were no explosive plays–the Jets longest play of the day was 1 13 yard reception.

Not that I enjoy watching that kind of defense.

Kyren Williams. Third in NFL in rushing. 1243 yards. 4.1 yard average. (five fumbles, though leads league)

Barkley and Henry having monsters, years, of course. Both have 15 runs over 20 yards. Kyren has only 2.

sorry if it sounds like i’m bagging on the game, but we’ll i’m bagging on the game. i can still enjoy the game, but it was terrible.

correct me if i’m wrong. just going off the top of my head. the rams got one turnover. two but the second one was at the end of the game and by then it was pretty much over. the jets also went for it on fourth down four times and only got one. the other three the rams converted into 10 points.

ugly game. but everyone here is right. it was a win. the defense made stops when it had to. they’re still in it. good times.

I dont remember Kupp having two quiet games in a row like this. Maybe he’s not healthy, again?

The offense has sorta been stuck in the mud the last couple weeks. I’m going to attribute that to being outside, on the road, in poor weather conditions. There’s probably more to it than that. The lack of speed on offense as Rex Ryan suggests rings true.

But I think they will light up the Cards and Seahawks – provided the Rams haven’t clinched already.

Maybe. And he hasn’t really been his ol’ self all year.

But the Jets are, like, #5 against the pass, or something. They are pretty damn good in the secondary, though they had some guys nicked up during the game. I dunno.

If Kupp’s a No Show in LA, then I will get really concerned.

Btw, nobody’s mentioned it, but I know you guyz had to be thinking the same thing i was, when I saw the Higbee leap into the endzone. There is just no way he should have been able to fly that far. I totally expected him to land about the one yard line, at most. That was just ridiculous.

The Oline was dominant run blocking Alaric Jackson, Steve Avila and Limmer were devastating the Jets front 7. Hunter Long had a couple dumb mistakes but he was blocking hs ass off in the run game and Jets dbs were dropping like flies . Karty like Speights keeps improving Wittington is a teams demon and a damn good wr
