As every competent entomologist knows,
that asphalt road is on the route of what is known as The great Caterpillar Pilgrimage. Every year billions of caterpillars make the pilgrimage to Point Pleasant West Virginia, to visit the site of their God, the MothMan.
I’m surprised you didnt know that. Maybe science just isnt your thing.
