Bottom line for me? The Rams have to find a way to defeat a great pass-rush, and the best way to do that is have the most possible massive blockers going up against them, and run the ball.

Second best way is a quick pass game, which the Rams don’t really have, either.

I love this team, but it’s driving me crazy to see them look one dimensional against great defenses.

    Thoughts?

No thoughts yet, myself. Good post. But I suspect that the team, and coach, are not flexible enough yet to have practiced the things you mention (quick passing, jumbo sets).

I feel we need to go into Free Agency for OLine help, get big inside. Two guys I like DJ Fluker, of the Seahawks, and Ramon Foster of the Steelers, both of them are Guards, and around the 340 pound range, are set for Free Agency, and the teams need to think who to spend money on. Suh we can let go, and will be expensive to keep, Talib is a need and have to resign. Plus, we should consider drafting defense. I’m starting to like Inside LB, Mack Wilson of Alabama a lot if he is still there at 32 for us, and if he comes put as well.

I dunno. But I’m concerned the OLine has worn down, and I’m concerned the league has caught up with McVay.

I think the Rams’s issues of late have been a worn down OL and the loss of Kupp, mostly. I think losing Kupp was a pretty big deal, and the OL is clearly not keeping Goff upright as reliably as it did early in the season. Those are problems.

I’ve noticed – fwiw – that the Rams aren’t running jet sweeps as much. They’ve run a WR 3 times total in the past 3 games: 0 vs. Bears, 2 vs. Lions, 1 vs. KC.
