    On conference call w/St. Louis media, Jeff Fisher says LB Daren Bates has sprained MCL, will be sidelined for a couple weeks.

    So Rams dodged a bullet there. Bates won’t need surgery. MCLs can take about a month to heal, but that’s better than missing season.

    He says Saffold (shoulder) is doing better, and that team is still doing tests on him.

    Great news on Bates!

    Saffold will always be game to game. Play to play. You just never know. Did great last year though.
