My own 2 cents?
No one has any real idea.
It depends on the following players–and with these guys, it’s several issues. They’re young, will they develop? If veteran, are they still productive? And do they fit want 2 new coordinators will want?
Will they keep Johnson and what else do they have at corner? Depends on the new coordinator.
Is Alexander a FS in a new scheme?
Do they want a McDonald type at SS?
Is Barron a backer in a new scheme?
Is Ogletree a MLB for a new coach?
How much do Quinn and Hayes have left? What if anything do Longacre and Westbrooks have?
Which of their many OL prospects stick with a new coach? How many of them develop? How many of them look better with a veteran OC and a more experienced qb?
What does a new OC want at TE? I would assume LK fits any OC’s scheme because he can be used in different ways.
How far will Goff develop?
How many of their young WRs can develop and fit a new OC’s vision? That’s Quick Cooper Thomas Marquez.
Prediction: Tavon is just a better receiver with Goff.
RB: was it Gurley, the OL, what? Cunningham is a FA. Brown can play…if he learns from the stupid fumble.
P: does a new coach even WANT one of the best punters of all time? (Kidding.)
I would say right now that anyone who ventures an opinion, either positive or negative, on this roster is just guessing and really has no idea. There’s too many variables. It could be anything from a good roster that doesn’t fit what a new coach wants so he tears it down, to a bad roster than a new coach mistakenly tries to stick with (those are the extremes and there’s a lot in between).
The obvious keepers? (IMO.) Donald, Brockers, Tree (though not necessarily at MLB), Kendricks (as a good middle class type), Tavon, and presumably Goff.

Well, I think just about any coach is going to try and resign TruJo, especially with the Rams’ cap situation in such good shape. He is one of the best corners in the league and the rest of the corners are either unproven or meh.

That’s plausible, but it may depend on whether TJ fits the new coach’s model and whether or not they want to use that money on something else. I put McDonald in the same category.
To me, it;s not like Donald, where a new coach would be an idiot to replace him.

December 14, 2016 at 1:03 pm #61031nittany ramModeratorI think the roster has more talent than what most new coaches find when hired by a perennially losing team. As you say, a lot depends on the type of players a coach wants. I doubt many coaches would favor Barron at LB but who knows? If the o-line is salvageable then it shouldn’t take too much to turn this team into a winner.
December 14, 2016 at 1:04 pm #61033PA RamParticipantOn a serious note: I think it is in decent shape. I do believe the offensive line needs serious work. Maybe better coaching will help with that, I don’t know. But it needs some sort of upgrade. They clearly still have no #1 wide receiver. That’s a problem and I expect a new head coach to make that a priority. Of course it’s easier said than done to get one of those guys.
I don’t know what happened to Gurley but I have hope he can still be a great back.
I’m optimistic about Goff. I think he can be very good with the right coaching.
On defense, I’m not sure about Quinn. That’s a very tough question for me. With his injuries I have to wonder if he hasn’t peaked and may be on the downside. Of course if he walks and he WASN’T on the downside–well–that’s bad. Glad I don’t have to make that call.
The rest of the D line is pretty good. Donald is great.
The linebackers? Depends on the scheme they want to run and so forth. I do like Ogeltree.
I think they HAVE to keep Johnson. You have to have at least one steady corner.
The roster certainly has talent. But it does need some tweaking here and there.

Most likely a new coach is going to want to bring in his own staff but it’s possible he might want to keep Williams. I hope they do because the type of players currently on the roster fit and know his system. But Williams is probably gone.
December 14, 2016 at 1:17 pm #61035wvParticipantI agree. Just a shitload of unknowns.
But frankly i’m real glad a new set of eyes and ears and brain-cells is going to do the evaluation. I just dont trust Fisher to do it anymore.
I like the idea of a fresh brain evaluating this team.
Coz, I’m tellin ya — something is wrong with this team. I dunno what.
But SOMETHING is wrong with this team.w
vDecember 14, 2016 at 1:22 pm #61036JackPMillerParticipantIt counts who they bring in. If it is a young HC, say they hire Ken Norton Jr. for example, you could be helping him by bringing in Norv Turner to run the Offense. Heck, I hear he is good friends with Greg Roman. Roman is has respect in the league.
