    Last year the Rams needed an edge rusher. No ifs ands or buts. Needed an edge rusher. Period, with a capital “P.”

    And they not only got one, he was the defensive rookie of the year.

    How many Rams drafts through the year have we gone, okay maybe this pick makes sense, give him some time.

    Not this time. This time the primary need was edge and the solution was to take the defensive rookie of the year.

    Donald was of course a great pick, but he wasn’t an anticipated vital need. So that pick doesn’t have quite the same vibe. It was more like, so who did they take? A DT. Ah okay. Uh…hey wait this guys looks really good.

    Plus of course with Verse, there’s the old adage–usually edge rushers don’t do much in year 1. But the Rams need one, so hope he works out. And then it became, hey wait a sec, he’s not bad…

    i agree. and i can’t wait to see what he does in his sophomore season.

    jared verse says he left 10 sacks on the field because of mistakes he made on the field.
