How I see the board, how do you see the board?

We’re an old community and can get slow in the off-season BUT I have morphed into thinking of the board this way: it’s a nice modest site with good posters who post a lot of good stuff in both forums. Also one of its main purposes for me is to host a gameday chat room. Even during a miserable disappointing season it has a core of diehards and in better times it was full. It’s fun either way.

I cannot imagine watching games anymore without being in that chatroom.

At one point last year we found out the hard way the chat room we had had a limit on the numbers who can participate at one time, and a couple of guys could not get in. I considered that an emergency level fix and it will never happen again.

That’s my 2 cents so far.

Any and all feedback, comments, ideas, insights, bitter vengeful admonishments, joyful memories etc. welcome.

It is a good group and they know each others quirks. That makes it a nice comfortable place to hang out.

I consider this board home. This is the only place I post, period. I’m glad you found me during one of the recent exoduses. I was lost, but now I’m found… Speaking of that, I went through a very dark period in 2014-15-16. Most of my communications here helped me heal, some caused additional pain, but in the long run, it also helped the healing process (by “here” I’m including past incarnations of this board too). I do feel better.
My main disposition is that of a lurker. I lurk everywhere else, but here too. I get it when I post and no one replies; I know most of you look and just say “eh”. Totally OK. Never bothers me. Never, ever bothers me… Never. But I digress.
I’m very fond of you all. I do miss those who have died, but also those who have left of their own volition. I wish some would come back (sorry for calling you a cunt, Les).
I plan on being a poster here until there is no here here (and then I’ll post about this place, in this sphere or some other).
Funny thing is, I’m caring less and less about football (well, that might change if we ever get a good team), but am drawn here by the Public House. Keep up the good work you bleeding hearts!

T, I don’t think that’s true. That the response is “enh.” The board could use a like button, so people can see that their posts are being read and appreciated. It is true that as a group, if we have a flaw, it’s not responding enough to things people take the trouble to add. I myself can’t respond to every post cause then there’s just this long line of “zn” responses. I read everything here myself and I know I am not alone.

ZN, that was the tongue and cheek section of my post; please don’t change anything on my account. Actually, I kind of like the fact we don’t have the “views” counter on this site.

As I said, I’m a lurker at heart, and I just don’t post that much. I won’t post more or less if there are fancy buttons added.

Sometimes when life creeps up on me and throws another curve, it’s nice to know I can come here and read some interesting, soulful conversations.

Since zn initiated his controversial posting ban on fans of other teams, there hasn’t been a single terrorist attack on this board.

The fans of other teams already posting here before the ban went into effect (zooey and wv) seem to be pretty innocuous if somewhat annoying.

Anyway, zn took a lot of flak from most of you for that decision. I think now is the time to admit he was right and to show him some gratitude. An apology is probably in order as well.

Well for me, this is just part of my day. This board. Part of my life.

Some of us have been together since 98 or 99 or so. Thats a long time for a small group of posters.

I miss Mack, though. And RFL. And some others. I wont make a list.

Yeah–I think “home” is a good word.

I visit other boards from time to time but this is home. I also use the board in a social media kind of way–like Facebook or Twitter. Since there is a familiarity with so many posters I post personal things sometimes–something I would not do on other boards.

I think you deserve the credit for this group being able to stay together, zn. I know you’re modest but if you weren’t always seeking new places when old ones were gone and emailing people to the new spots–we may have faded away. You put more into these boards than anyone and I’d like to thank you for that.

I appreciate all the moderators over the years by the way.

I just get to come here and have fun.

And of course my fellow posters. You all know who you are.

But I am also looking for impressions and honest feedback. Getting a sense of how things is around here.

Example: do our slow times bother people, or do you just wait them out? (All boards are slow these days but since we are defined by a particular community, ours can be slower than most.)

Just helps the mods see things.

This time of year is ALWAYS the wait it out period….it’s tough but also a good respite from the clang/clatter and of NFL football. I use it for stillness so I can practice some good TM. 😉
NO, it’s not this board or any other that makes this period tougher…it’s just a slow time of the year. imo
I’m not sure what you changes you would make. I like this board but do admit that ya’ll are very tight group and sometimes that could be/might be/is for me a bit – an intimidating place for folks that that don’t post here often. You guys are always welcoming and kind…
and I appreciate that…but ya’ll have been together so long and know eachother so well…
that,it might cause me to lurk a bit more than I might.
However, I post less these days no matter what….that’s just where I am personally.
THIS board has got the perfect balance of knowledge, wit & humor. imo

I think there’s not much more you could ask of a board during the these NFL doldrums!!
Unless, you start holding raffles and giving away free pies or somethin! LOL
