January 10, 2021 at 12:54 pm #126671znModeratorThis is a good tape for rookie RB Cam Akers & the L.A. run game.
Akers got some clean looks to the 2nd level. Made defenders miss in space. Finished runs behind his pads.
Can see his traits on zone schemes. @NFLMatchup pic.twitter.com/ZTzBPQBnxb

January 11, 2021 at 3:53 pm #126735znModeratorWatch Donald and the nose initially flow with the slide to their right before slanting back inside. This holds the center for just a second, which is all Donald needs to win that A gap. Quickness/leverage/power are just too great. But this PR plan from a team perspective = smart. pic.twitter.com/UXYX37SleS

January 11, 2021 at 3:54 pm #126736znModeratorIupati tries to jump Donald here. Donald initially is going with his cross-chop but once that gets thwarted he seamlessly strings together a club for a clean win. This is art. pic.twitter.com/Jy2FO4ShH9

January 11, 2021 at 4:12 pm #126740znModeratorGreat tweak by McVay on this boot concept. Sort of like a leak concept. WR delays on backside then finds the soft spot in the zone. pic.twitter.com/QP3gN2UaEW

January 11, 2021 at 6:56 pm #126754znModeratorRams stuffing a 3rd & 1 despite being outnumbered in the box. Joseph-Day is a beast. Bench presses G in the backfield. Playside DT does a good job of playing backdoor too. pic.twitter.com/RmIQQyMwkk

watching the all-22 you can really appreciate floyd’s size, speed and athleticism, something that doesn’t come across quite as clearly on the tube imo… what really jumps out on the all-22 is when both floyd and hollins are playing the edges at the same time, which happened a few times in the seahawks game, a couple of 6’5″ bookends.
January 13, 2021 at 12:00 pm #126830ZooeyModeratorYeah. Donald and Ramsey are recognized as game-wreckers.
But Floyd wrecks a few plays himself every game.
This is fun to watch. I sure want it to continue. I grew up on Defense, of course, and it’s been a long, long time since the Rams had a defense that was this good. Over 40 years. I forgot how much joy there is in just wrecking the opposing Offense. My appetite to watch it is strong enough to take in another, say, 3 games of it this year.

dw’s incredible pick-6, i just don’t get tired of watching it, such a smart, lightning quick, huge defensive play on his part… btw, i couldn’t have been the only rams fan thinking that the same thing could eventually happen to the rams if they’re not careful, especially given the rams like to run this concept so often.
donald, for damn good reason, grabbed most of defensive headlines after the seahawks game, but the entire unit played lights out and absolutely kicked the shit out of wilson and the seahawks offense… among the guys who had solid games were reeder (95% of the defensive snaps) and young (45%), as did all of the interior guys, they swarmed and out-muscled seattle’s blockers all game, a couple of examples.
ramsey is such an elite, smart player, here’s a quietly great play where he kept metcalf from going out of bounds at the end of the second quarter and kept the clock rolling… ramsey is 6’1″ 208, metcalf 6’4″ 230+.
1:40 remaining in the 3rd quarter, the rams only up by one score, 20-13…. three drives later it was 30-13 rams with 4:40 left to go in the game, here are the three rams drives, including the forced fumble on the seahawks punt return.
