I saw your post on the Herd board and frankly the idea of Rivers to the Titans is not logical.

Are the Titans close to a Super Bowl? No. Nobody is trading away the number one or number 2 pick overall for Phillip Rivers. Rivers is 33, he’s ancient. You don’t trade for him or a Manning unless you think he is the missing piece to a super bowl run.

BTW, the not wanting to play in LA because it is sin city is bunk too. There are lots of people in LA with midwestern values as you want to put it.

If the Titans trade away then number 2 pick overall for a 33 year old never have won anything QB then they are plain stupide and deserve to be fleeced.

I doubt RockRam even knows about this board, Grits, let alone reads it.

Lots of different people in the media have pointed to the possibility of a Rivers trade. That’s not a new issue. And, it’s not out of the realm of reason.

Here’s something on that that was posted here—>

Yes, I have heard lots of people talk about Zack and frankly it makes no sense. The Titans are not close to being a winner. Rivers would be waisted on the Titans. Rivers is not a QB you bring in when you are building your team.
He’s old, he’s got some physical issues and I am not even sure with a Super Bowl ready team he’s the guy you’d want.

I think a better trade for Tenn would be with the Rams. Foles and the number 10 pick plus a 4th this year and that would be beneficial for the Titans and the Rams. Rams get Mariot or Winston, depending on who Tampa takes.

My midwestern values say don’t drink yours or others sewage. But in California they know better being so sophisticated and all.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

Guys let’s keep relocation stuff in relocation threads and try not to sink into city bashing.

    Thanks.

City bashing? Moi? Just my midwestern perspective on personal hydration via municipal means. Didn’t need to call out the smurfs.

Really. Let’s keep that kind of thing out of discussion. Even hints of it.

    that i would consider.

i would not give up a future first rounder. no way. no how.

i’ve been thinking about it, and the one thing i don’t like about this trade is that if foles plays well, he’s in line for a huge contract. if he doesn’t play well, then you still need a qb.

i would do the trade because you get a blue chip qb on a cheap contract. he’s cost controlled for what five years? i like it.

the one thing i don’t like is who the hell is your qb for 2015? at least it would buy some time for fisher and staff.

Tell you one thing — i was sure impressed with Mr Rivers after I saw
him in that Ram game. Looked like a tough, accurate, clutch QB.

I would be very surprised if a Rivers to Tennessee trade
    took place.

Though, i suppose teams do sometimes make weird trades
for old QBs — remember the John Hadl trade?

Back in 2012, in a two QB draft, it cost 3 #1s to move from 6 to 2 at the top of the first round. Bill Polian recent stated that the price for moving to Tennessee’s spot should begin at that price. Well, San Diego sits at 17 right now. To get from where they currently sit to where Washington was, they would first need to move up from 17 to 6. That would cost at least a future #1 and probably more. Then from there, they would need to trade to the Titans 3 MORE #1s to move from 6 to 2. That’s at least four #1s, and that doesn’t even include the second round pick Washington had to throw in back in ’12.

I doubt Phillip Rivers is worth more than a single first round draft pick, so Tennessee would be expecting two to three more #1s in addition to Phillip Rivers to make the trade. Anyone think San Diego is willing to pay that kind of price?
