Just got back to see from the second half on. Evidently I didn’t miss much in the first half.

I got nothing. No answers. Close but no cigar. 3-5. Same ol’ season it seems once again.

They just can’t get a running game going consistently and they show no ability to fix it or stick with it or whatever. Passing game can look very good or very bad. Nothing steady about this team. Just good enough to lose.

Sometimes the team just seems…well…dumb. They don’t seem like a smart team.

From a weird on-side kick, to the horse collar tackle–it’s always something.

I have no expectations this year beyond maybe 6 wins.

Back to the drawing board–but not a lot of draft picks next year.

    Life goes on.

I didnt think they’d be able to run on Carolina, but i expected an ugly win by the Rams.

At home, rested after a bye, relatively healthy, playing a mediocre team, in a Must Win game. And the D gets Zero turnovers, and the O only has a field goal with thirty seconds to play.

At this point, comrads, i would not pick up Fisher’s contract. I would like to see a change next year. It wont happen, but I would like to see a change.

Well the playoffs are gone. Might as well start Goff. Manion may be more ready but obviously he’s not their guy or they wouldn’t have traded next year’s draft for Goff.

    Running game.

They ran the ball okay, not great, just okay, for 4 years.

    2012 19th (still better than 2016)
    2013 19th (still better than 2016)
    2014 20th (still better than 2016)
    2015 7th

    and then 2016 … 29th

And it’s probably not just one thing.

Yeah I’m not sure this coaching staff knows how to fix this offense. They badly misjudged this offense’s ability in the offseason. The oline can’t block, Gurley isn’t Gurley and Keenum isn’t the kind of QB that can make those around him better.

Fisher looked distraught at the end when the Panthers knelled, maybe the rumor is true? Keenum is not a starting QB . Why not start Mannion and let Goff sit behind him? Keenum can’t throw over that huge line Fisher drafted to protect Nick Foles. Run game is as bad as ever. Quinn is Quinn again Donald MVP, MVP ,MVP.I’ll probably take some heat for this but it’s just an opinion, I think the problem with this team is the stupid. This has to be the collectively stupidest team I’ve ever seen from coaches to players, stupid stupid stupid.

The Rams’ defense sacked Cam Newton 5 times and held Carolina to 244 yards and 1 touchdown. That ought to be enough to win, right?

Is there a better player than Aaron Donald being wasted on such a bad team? I guess Gurley qualifies here too…

Yeah this defense ought to have shown up in the Detroit game, and the Detroit game offense should have shown up in this game.

So, why couldnt they beat a mediocre team at home, after a bye, in a must-win game ?

Well the Panthers may not be a mediocre team. It is essentially the same team that went to the Super Bowl last season. It looked like they got their groove back last week against the Cards. But the Rams have failed to live up to everyone’s expectations including Fisher’s. At some point he has to be held accountable.

    This is disappointing.

I thought the oline would be improved this year and the offense would be a little better as a result.

They need a new coaching regime next year. They just aren’t good enough and I don’t see them miraculously getting better by the end of the year.

There is enough talent on this team, it’s past time that it was coached up.

Regardless, don’t start Geoff until he is ready. Once is fundamentals are correct, they should give him a few series a game to ensure they hold. If they do, give him some more time so he gains experience. If they don’t, then keep working on them in practice without putting him the game.

We’ll probably scrap our way to seven wins, somehow.

I think the talent is better than this on offense. Anyone think Norv Turner would score more points with this group? I do.

Yes I do but I also think Norv would be wary of Fisher at this point.

Fisher has developed a blind spot with Keenum.

At this point it shouldn’t matter if the loss doesn’t solely fall on him.

He may not be the reason they’re losing, but he’s not helping them win either.

Start another QB. I would prefer that it be Goff because he is the future – I mean, obviously they didn’t see Mannion as the future or they wouldn’t have traded away next year’s draft for Goff, right?

But start another QB. Mannion, Goff, somebody.

And this isn’t a knock on Keenum. I like him as a back-up QB and would like to have him back next season. But he isn’t the right QB for an offense that has to rely solely on the QB to move the ball.

Goff has those kinda skills. Let’s see what he can do. And nobody is expecting Goff to shine. Personally I expect he’ll be really inconsistent. He’ll likely look really bad at times but we’ll also see flashes of what he can/will be. The playoffs are gone so I don’t see a downside to the kid playing now.

Well we are ALL kinda screwed right now. Keenum isnt good enough to win without a running game. Goff is not good enough to win without a running game and he might get kilt out there with so many third and longs.

And Fisher obviously cant fix the running game this year or he woulda done so by now.

Ram fans are in for some dull, ugly football this year. Year five.

I don’t think Keenum is getting killed though. He gets sacked but I don’t think he’s under constant pressures like Bulger was. I don’t think Goff will get hit a lot unless he holds the ball too long – which rookies sometimes do, but Goff taking too many hits isn’t a big worry for me.

One of the several good comments about Goff prior to the draft was how good he is under duress. That is a quality that would be put to the test if he was inserted as the starter, IMO.

The only reason I can come up with as to why they continue to roll CK out there is CK gets rid of the ball quickly. I believe he’s one of the league leaders with regards to time to get rid of the ball…this may be where Goff would be behind CK.

If Goff holds the ball a little longer the sack total is gonna go up.

The question is, will it be worth it?

CK has 9 TD’s to 11 INT’s…that is unacceptable for a game manager IMO.

Keenum is not getting kilt, but i bet a rookie would be getting gilt

the defense is getting wasted with such bad offense.

also. if goff really isn’t ready to play yet. the rams made a huge mistake in trading away THAT much draft capital on a qb who is so underdeveloped that he can’t beat out a backup qb.

i’m sorry. but while the game wasn’t lost by case. and i will also add. i felt bad for case when the chants came out for goff. and they came out as early as the second quarter. i don’t know how loud it was on television. but watching it live. the chants for goff were loud. but at this point. case has no business being on the field. unless mannion and goff are that bad. and again. i’ll say it again. if goff is that underdeveloped as a qb. the rams had absolutely no business trading away the future for him. an unnecessary gamble. now if what they say is true. and they do feel comfortable trotting goff out there if needed. then they need to do it NOW. case can’t carry this offense. this team is not going to win with case and an anemic running game.

so put him out there. and if he isn’t prepared to go out there. then step down. do not continue coaching for this team if you traded up to the number one pick for a qb project. bradford, mariota, luck, wentz, winston. they all were prepared to play their first year. if he’s that much of a project, then you don’t take him number one. you CERTAINLY don’t trade UP and give up precious first and second rounders to draft that much of an unknown.

and ok. yeah. maybe the rams didn’t realize that at first. but if they didn’t know. then they don’t know as much football as they think they know. and they still need to go.

and to be quite frank. i don’t expect goff to play that much better than case. but i expect him to play at least as well. and with the promise that he will eventually be better.

because let’s face it. without the running game. case is useless. it’d be one thing if the running game was humming. then i certainly understand keeping case in there. the dynamic of the offense changes, and you let case manage the offense with goff continuing to learn.

but the running game is not there. case can’t do much more than what he’s doing which isn’t much. you say you’re comfortable with goff going in to play if necessary. well then play him. cuz your season is shot. it’s been obvious for awhile the running game is going nowhere.

i really think this coaching staff has no idea what they’re doing.

sorry. just very frustrated right now.
