Closer than I like but a good first win.
I will like this D I think when it gels a bit. They came through when they had to tonight though.

Yeah, during the game, I just kept asking my son, “WTF is Fuller?”
I dunno. He was the guy who kept making tackles, seemed like.
Anyway. A win is a win.I would have liked more…but I always want more…and that was a win.
I have no complaints. I mean… I have nobody to criticize…the Cowboys are a good team, and I always want to dominate…but they won while looking like a good team. I will take it.
September 14, 2020 at 1:50 am #120957InvaderRamModeratori hope lewis can come back healthy.
i wanna see the defense with lewis at full strength. i think he could be… the one!
September 14, 2020 at 9:08 am #120963wvParticipantSaw the highlights. Great Win. I mean, its the Cowboys. A win over Amerika’s Team is awesome.
I especially love the fact that the refs decided another game in favor of the Rams. Thats a good sign.
Game ball goes to McVay. Looked like a good game-plan.
September 14, 2020 at 9:55 am #120964nittany ramModeratorGood game overall. Nice game plan from McVay. Goff executed it very well.
Brown ran well. Rookies Van Jefferson and Fuller look like players.
Crowd didn’t seem into it though. Lotta empty seats too.

Well they did and they didn’t. Goff’s INT came from him being hit in the head as he threw. That wasn’t called. As soon as I find a pic I’ll post it. It was flagrant.

I saw it on one of the tweet-posts.
I think not having fans at the game is going to help the Rams. And it will hurt the Seahawks.
The Seahawks lose actual seahawk fans at their home games.
The Rams also lose seahawk fans at ram home games. Thus the pandemic helps the Rams. This could be our year.

Well since you’re denying it happened, here you go.
September 14, 2020 at 1:43 pm #120984joemadParticipantRams on 3rd down = 9 for 17. (53%)
Dallas on 3rd down = 3 for 12 (25%)
Time of possession Rams = 36 min to Dallas = 24…
Nice 8 min time consuming drives in the 4th for LA.

Although the Rams defense played well in the second half, that last defensive stand really stood out. The constant pressure on Dak was tremendous on that final stand. The defense looked dominant and fresh. I didn’t see the dreaded prevent defense, thank goodness. I knew Donald would be fit and ready to play to the end even without preseason games, but the rest stepped up too. The Rams as a whole looked as prepared as any other team I saw play yesterday.
As the final minutes ticked down I felt confident they would secure the win. That was not the case last year.
And the defense was fresh because they got a little help from the offense. The offense dominated the time of possession. (Hopefully next week they get touchdowns in the Red Zone instead of field goals.) The offense dominated the time of possession because the oline performed well and McVay called a good game. The oline’s performance stands out to me and I think they can build on it. I’m also not as concerned about the linebackers or pass rush after this game. Going forward I can’t wait to see how the defense plays with a larger lead during the game.
September 14, 2020 at 8:17 pm #121026canadaramParticipantHappy for the win. Didn’t like the fourth quarter stress. Would like to see some more efficiency from the redzone offense. Finally, the win did not make those horrid uniforms grow on me.

the rams now have kupp, higbee, jefferson, akers, and hopkins all signed through 2023. it’s still to be determined how good jefferson, akers, and hopkins can be, but they have potential for sure.
September 14, 2020 at 9:45 pm #121039HramParticipant1-0 is a lot better than 0-1.
I don’t like that version of the uniforms.
Looked like two decent playoff teams duking it out.
Fans were really nowhere to be seen.
September 15, 2020 at 7:16 pm #121113wvParticipantI’ve watched the first half on Replay.
The thing that jumped out at me was
there were more Cowboy card-board-fans in the stands at So-Fi, than Ram card-board-fans.And the Ram cardboard-fans seemed blah-zay and passive as usual.
Also, Legatron looked unreliable. It may be time to replace him.
Of the Two-Billionaire-Weasels, I thought Kroenke looked more evil. Seems to me, he will go to the deeper circle of hell, in the end. Though maybe it was just the mask.
Looked to me, like the Dallas Cowboys, America’s Team, was wearing the same uniforms they’ve always had. Imagine that. They must not understand marketing.
First-half-ball goes to Malcolm Brown. Nothing fancy, nothing electric, just good hard running. Reminds me of Les Josephson or Cullen Bryant.
I was not impressed with Akers. For one thing, he takes a lot of direct hard hits.Rams OLine looked ok, but McVay didnt really trust it to pass block. Goff was either rolling out or getting rid of it quick. Fine by me, but that will not always work. At some point they gotta be able to pass-block enuff to stretch the field.

vSeptember 15, 2020 at 10:39 pm #121128wvParticipantWatched the second-half.
After watching the big-controversial-penalty in the final minute, I have to say Ramsey made a hell-uva-play. He was beaten like a drum. The WR barely touched him. But he sold the ‘penalty’ perfectly. I mean it was a puuuurfect sell-job. I had to see it three times in slo-mo before i realized that Ramsey’s
backwards-reaction did not quite match up with the actual ‘push’ by the WR. Just a truly brilliant veteran play by the DB.Ramsey cheated. Effectively. Excellent work to win the inaugural game in the five-billion-dollar post-modern corporate monstrosity.
Oline — The Oline played well as far as run-blocking. Fine job.
Cant say they played well pass-blocking. Any high-school OLine can pass-block for the dink-dunk-screen game. So, i dont give them credit for that.
In the second half when it was third and long — the OLine failed. Not a good sign.
I think I’ve decided that is my ‘test’ for a good OLine – how did they do, in the clutch on third and medium/long?The Defense was good, but not great. Not a single turnover.
I love Kupp being the punt-returner. In Kupp I trust.
What can ya say about Robert Woods. He’s Mr Dependable. He’s Henry Ellard.
No Injuries. Whats up with that?
Great Win.

Rams oline and secondary v Cowboys
so I just watched a condensed version of the game
I didn’t study it or rewind but I wanted to watch the Rams oline and secondary specifically
with no preseason this year its really hard to get a feel for what this team might have
it was one game but man… was I very encouraged by what I just saw with the Rams oline. They consistently moved the Cowboys off the ball… and most of their success came running off tackle or up the gut. I thought Brown played very very well. Very good game and was a chain mover. Akers – can’t wait to see more. I thought he showed good power and patience and he just needs to play. I really loved how he was wrapping that ball up. but the oline really did a nice job getting push. They were very physical … the Eagles have a bigger and more physical front than the Cowboys. The Cowboys have a fast defense and it showed when the Rams tried to run outside. Those runs went nowhere.
I hope someone can post the PFF ratings for the DBs… OMG they played so well. Darious Williams seemed like he got most of the snaps with Hill and Ramsey and he broke up several passes against Cooper. Hill had one big break up as well. I thought they played very well against the Cowboys WRs for the most part and I just don’t think I expected that. The play by Fueller was just outstanding obviously
This game wasn’t perfect by any means but I am very much looking forward to seeing the Rams take on the Eagles. No crowd and a banged-up receiving corps and oline are not going to be helpful going up against AD and Ramsey.
I think the Eagles dline is really going to test the Rams physically.
Looking forward to it!

Welcome to game one of the apocalypse series. I’m honestly really happy we had a season … I felt 95% sure we would based on my knowledge of one of our society’s 25 problems right now, but there could have been dinosaurs at any moment so I was holding my breath.
There were things I wanted to see and for the most part I got to see them.
I had a feeling we’d beat them because they had injury issues (which worsened during the game) but I didn’t think it would be our defense really doing it and I didn’t expect it to be that close.
The Great
1) Barely any pressure on Jared. Offensive line looked cohesive and solid.
2) Jordan Freaking Fuller. Can’t measure instincts. I didn’t get to see much of his play at OSU because they simply were too good up front, safeties didn’t make tackles. Nonetheless I feel as a draft geek I totally missed on a kid who is looking to be not only a steal, but like a quality vet addition to an already talented secondary. I’m sure he’ll be scrutinized ad infinitum the rest of the year, but I’d suggest against worrying about a few mistakes and just enjoying good solid safety play from a hitter.
3) Ramsey’s hit on Cooper … not only did he peel off his guy, but he did what most CBs can’t do … he hist like a safety when he arrives … the sheer violence has to be a shock on the perimeter.
4) The pass to Jefferson down the sideline. Thing o’ beauty.
5) Seeing Whit fired up at 38 years old after driving his guy 8 yards off the ball in the run game. Excitement matters.
The Good
6) Let’s get Robert extended, thanks. One of the most underrated players in football.
7) The sheer amount of weapons on offense. “Here, try to cover our 4th WR” … “Oh and here’s our 3rd RB” …
8) Austin Corbett and Noteboom. Not the lineup I was expecting 2 months ago.
9) Higbee beating CBs on slants and moving like a WR until he gets the ball, then moving like a mac truck after.
10) Notable high five to Aldon Smith coming back after 5 freaking years. Makes me happy when anyone can recover.
11) AD look just as good if not better.
12) Floyd got enough pressure to make me think he can replace Fowler’s production. I’ll have to see more, but I’m optimistic.
13) Cam’s feet …
The Bad
14) Kiser’s missed tackles. Clean it up dude. Plenty of talent in round 2 next year to replace you.
15) Sloman’s kicks, but not because he missed. Because they’re low.
16) Goff not taking the deep throw to Kupp at the end of the game … we snuck away with that win but we could have iced it.
17) Gerald. Catch the ball. We want at least a 4th round comp from you.
18) Is it because he’s from FSU and he expects bad blocking? Is this law of attraction stuff? Why was the run blocking so much worse for Cam?
19) The calling of the sweep to Brown … you do not ask the slow guy to do a sweep against a fast defense in that situation.
20) Lack of outside pressure from “the other guys” … I’ll be wayyyyyy happier when TL is back.
The Ugly
21) The hit to the head of Goff on the INT. HOW DO YOU MISS THAT?
22) Zeke’s TD he faked out 4 guys on the goal line? Seriously?
23) Jarwin’s no contact knee injury … sorry dude.
Outlook vs Eagles
24) We should sack Wentz 10 times and win by 20. We’re hungry and they’re reeling.
