The #Rams will be announcing de coaching staff changes/additions at a future date. But when it all shakes out Eric Henderson will be the defensive line coach.Bill Johnson will not be back with the #Rams next season, I’m told. Good man and a good coach.
Bill Johnson has held that position the last two years. Still waiting on word what this means for him

Are the OLBs the DL coach’s responsibility though? I would think they would be the LB coach’s responsibility.
Also the Chargers run 4/3 so there’s a bit of a transition.

Former NFL defensive lineman Eric Henderson “Coach Henny” will begin his second season as the Chargers assistant defensive line coach in 2018.
In his first year with the organization, the Chargers ranked fifth in the NFL with 43 sacks. Bosa ranked seventh in the league with a career-high 12.5 sacks while Ingram equaled his career-best with 10.5 sacks.
A native of New Orleans, La., Henderson was a three-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference defensive end at Georgia Tech before spending three years in the National Football League with the Cincinnati Bengals (2006-08). As a collegian, Henderson set a school record at Georgia Tech for career tackles for loss (59.5) while also racking up 175 tackles, eight pass breakups and seven forced fumbles. His 25 career sacks rank fourth in school history. Following his NFL career, Henderson spent three seasons (2009-11) with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League, helping the team win a pair of League championships.
In 2012, Henderson segued into coaching as a defensive assistant at Georgia Military College, where he worked with the outside linebackers and secondary. Henderson helped coach the Bulldogs to a 7-4 record and an appearance in the CHAMPS Heart of Texas Bowl.
In 2013, Henderson moved on to Oklahoma State where he spent three seasons (2012-15) as a graduate assistant and a third (2015) as a defensive quality control coach. During his three years in Stillwater, the Cowboys went 27-12 and made three bowl appearances. Henderson helped tutor defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, who earned All-America accolades, was named Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 and was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft (32nd overall) by the Cleveland Browns.
Henderson spent the 2016 season as the defensive line coach at Texas-San Antonio. The Roadrunners went 6-6 during the regular season before facing New Mexico in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl.

That’s a repeat McVay Rams theme. Assistant coaches with backgrounds in education.

He was not retained. He’s no longer a part of the organization. He’s a respected coach. He’ll land on his feet.February 26, 2019 at 8:07 pm #98329znModeratorMeet Eric Henderson: Three things to know about the Rams’ new defensive line coach
The Rams will bring on Eric Henderson to lead defensive tackle Aaron Donald and company as the defensive line coach in 2019. Henderson’s home field will now be a drive up Interstate 110 at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum after two seasons with the Chargers in Los Angeles.
Here are three things to know about the Rams’ new defensive line coach:
1. Undrafted Standout
Henderson joined the Bengals as an undrafted rookie in 2006 after an impressive career at Georgia Tech. Henderson, a three-time All-ACC defensive lineman, became the Yellow Jackets’ all-time career leader in tackles for loss, with 59.5.
Henderson recorded 24 of his record-breaking tackles for loss during his breakout sophomore season, which also featured 11 sacks. Henderson’s 25 career sacks rank No. 4 in school history.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Georgia Tech.2. Experience with Star Power
Depending on what happens in free agency, Henderson may have a couple of NFL superstars on his hands in Donald, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, and whoever could join the pass-rush party in L.A.
Henderson offers a bit of experience coaching All-Conference and Pro Bowl players as he joins the defending NFC Champs. He served as a defensive quality control coach at Oklahoma State in 2015, when now-Browns defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah earned All-American honors and was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
Most recently, Henderson spent two seasons as an assistant defensive line coach for the Chargers, working closely with Pro Bowl defensive ends Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. The Chargers posted 43.0 sacks in 2017 and 38.0 in 2018.
Bengals-Henderson3. A Former Teammate
Henderson will join former Bengals teammate and Louisiana native Andrew Whitworth in Los Angeles, should the 37-year-old left tackle return to football for a 14th professional season. Henderson shared a rookie season Whitworth in 2006, before spending time on and off the club’s practice squad until playing in two games in 2008 before he was place on the injured reserve with a season-ending neck injury.
