1st Round values/reaches and best available for Round 2
My favorites from round one (best value picks):
Wirfs to TB at 13 (great pick there…)
Lamb to DAL at 17 (not a guy they were targeting but he’s a top 10 player)Worst/reaches:
Terrell to ATL at 16
Igbinoghene to MIA at 30
Arnette to LVR at 19 (late 2nd/early 3rd guy)
Love to GB at 26 (baffling on many levels….)Brooks to SEA seems like a reach at 27 but at the same time he’s going to be a very good player there, so…
Best available from my aggregated list going into Day 2 (some favorites highlighted):
21 D’Andre Swift RB Georgia
23 Ross Blalock DT TCU
26 Yetur Gross-Manos EDGE Penn State
27 Trevon Diggs CB Alabama

April 24, 2020 at 11:21 am #113991Billy_TParticipantExcellent highlights, Mr. House of Atreus.
This appears to be a very, very deep draft. Obviously, we won’t know until these guys actually play on Sundays, etc.
But looking at the draft right now, I wish the Rams had twice as many picks. I think if they had a few more, the absence of a First Rounder could easily be ignored.
Just some favorites left:
Kyle Dugger S Lenoir-Rhyne. Big, fast, ultra-athletic. He would upgrade the safety spot and give the DC tremendous flexibility. Dugger could play either spot, or play the hybrid linebacker, and/or free up Rapp to do so, etc.
Favorite replacement for Littleton: Troy Dye ILB 6-3, 231 Oregon. Faster and more athletic than CL. Instant upgrade.
Favorite OL guy, and he likely won’t require a trade-up (unlike Jones or Cleveland): Robert Hunt OG Louisiana-Lafayette. Big, athletic, etc.
Preferred RB, if they go that route: Jonathan Taylor RB Wisconsin. He’s big and has 4.4 speed. He would make an excellent Mr. Inside to Henderson’s Mr. Outside.
Preferred WR, though he’ll likely need a trade-up, which goes against my usual, amateur GM strategery: Denzel Mims WR Baylor. The Rams need speed at the position, and they need someone who can go up and get contested passes. Fall-back: Laviska Shenault WR Colorado. If he checks out medically.
Preferred center. Should not need trade-up: Matt Hennessy C/G Temple.
Preferred Edge: Julian Okwara OLB 6-4, 252 Notre Dame. Likely needs a trade-up. Fall-back: Darrell Taylor OLB 6-4, 267 Tennessee.

Dan Kadar has the Rams taking Swift at 52.
Matt Miller has the Rams taking Taylor at 57
Lance Zierlein has the Rams taking Akers at 52The list goes on and on..
Snead has drafted a RB every year with the Rams, save for two.
These are the rounds Les has drafted RB’s in as GM of the Rams.

I don’t see any way Jonathan Taylor or D’Andre Swift is still there at No. 52 (Kiper said he thinks five RBs could go in the second round), but yes, they would be atop my list.I was first in line last year to say the Rams handled their O-line poorly. But I really don’t think the answer is to rebuild it with rookies…again. If those guys don’t improve/develop, the Rams are in trouble. But there are So. Many. areas in need of depth.

Grant Delpit?April 24, 2020 at 2:12 pm #114008CalParticipantI kinda like the idea of trading up for Jonathan Taylor. I love when production meets measurables & that’s exactly what you have with Taylor. I can’t imagine Taylor will last all the way to 52.
He was incredibly productive at Wisconsin and then backed that up with by far the best workout by a rb at the combine.
He should be able to step in and immediately and threaten teams with his home run speed like Gurley did back in 2018.
April 24, 2020 at 2:25 pm #114009znModeratorZN,
What’s your preference, at least for the first few picks?
I didn’t follow this one that closely, BT. So I really don’t have any preferences.
Why are you not highlighting
Jack, those aren’t my highlights. That’s LMU93 who did that. I just re-posted it as is.

One personnel director calls this “the deepest second round in the last 25 years.” He believes there are 20 players available tonight that could have been first-round picks; there usually are 7-10. “There will be as many starters in this round that there are in the first round.” -
