Here’s a stab at re-doing the Rams’ draft, after the fact. I let go the likely Back to the Future effect of the Rams existing picks possibly messing up the space/time continuum. Too difficult to factor that in, so I just went with the draft as it played out otherwise.
I like several picks the Rams made in the real world, and was close to just echoing a couple, but decided to go in a different direction.
______
Rams trades: they all work under the standard trade value chart:
#36 to NE for #46, 117, 135, 245
#69 and #191 to Cleveland for #74, 140 and 229.
______
At #46, Rams take Keion White. (New England’s actual pick here)
At #74, Rams take Zack Harrison, double-dipping at Edge. (Went to Atlanta with the next pick)
At #77, Darnell Washington, TE. (Inexplicably fell to the Steelers at #93)
At #117, Rams take Darius Rush, corner. (Surprising fall to Indy at #138).
At #135, Israel Abanikanda. (Taken by the Jets at 142)
Ar #140, Rams take Dorian Thompson-Robinson, QB, cuz of that earlier run on the position. (Cleveland’s actual choice here)
At #167, Owen Pappoe, linebacker. 4.39 speed, extremely strong (29 bench). Could play him at safety too. (Went next pick to Az)
At #174, Rams take Jaelyn Duncan, OT. (Titans, at 186)
At #177, JL Skinner, safety. (Consensus top 100 player, fell all the way to Denver at 183)
At #182, Rams take Luke Wypler, center. (Cleveland at 190)
At #229, Moro Ojomo, DT (fell to Eagles at 249)
At 234, Rams take Cory Trice Jr., corner. (Fell from 3rd round grade apparently due to injury concerns. Pittsburgh nabbed him at 241. May redshirt him)
At #245, Emil Ekiyor Jr., guard. (Indy signed him as a top UDFA)
At #259, Rams take Jalen Redmond, DT. (Panthers signed him as a top UDFA)
