    lots of safeties available on the market. wondering if the rams made a mistake tagging joyner.

    maybe better off tagging watkins.

    at the very least, they probably should not have tagged joyner. even if they didn’t plan on tagging sammy.

    they most likely could have signed him long-term at a cheaper rate. or signed another safety. i mean there’s a lot of them available right now.

    It doesn’t matter to me. I like Joyner. I think he brings more than the other safeties out there. Last year, my feeling was that when he wasn’t on the field the defense was not as good.

    I believe Joyner was gone without the tag he is thought of very highly around the league. Last season it was night and day when he was in the game . He got hurt in the 9ers game and I think he came back in the London game. So many plays. Of course I like Watkin’s potential as well but I don’t think the Rams could afford him at the tag level. Might just be me but I didn’t like some of the low effort plays, quitting on routes etc.
