    Last year the rams kept 10 OL, this year they can keep 9 Joseph Noteboom, David Edwards, Brian Allen, Coleman Shelton, Robert Havenstein, Logan Bruss, AJ Jackson, Tremayne Anchrum, Bobby Evans

    Making the Rams as a UDFA DB is a massive uphill challenge. Not only do you have a lot of drafted players there, but also guys like Grant Haley that have years of NFL experience

    When Matthew Stafford started deflecting questions about the pain in his elbow, it should’ve been an indication that he’s fine. There’s just concern around longevity and managing it through the lengthy season. All reports are overwhelmingly positive from the scrimmage today.

    Kendall Blanton was set to be a FA after this year, whereas Hopkins and Harris are locked up for at least another year after this. I wonder if that had something to do with his release. Also, cutting Blanton leaves no dead cap compared to Harris and Hopkins. Clearly the Rams have gone for future upside

    Blanton had 7 targets for 7 receptions, going for 5 first downs and a TD during the Super Bowl run. And his blocking was essential too. Shame to see him go, but wish him all the best.

    Rams don’t even make it to the Superbowl without Blanton last year. Even if Hopkins is TE2, Blanton was beat out for TE3? Harris to TE I guess? Really is a “what have you done for me lately league” & I wish Blanton all the best.

    Blanton will more likely be added to PS. Rams runs alot of 3 wrs sets and uses their wrs as blockers. Ben Skow and Harris are both TE hybrids and solid run blockers

    Sean McVay says OLB Daniel Hardy will need a procedure to repair a high ankle sprain suffered early last night (sounds like they didn’t immediately realize what had happened) …he’ll likely start the year with an injury designation but McVay indicated it’s not season-ending.

    It is a bummer about Bruss and Hardy. Those were the two most promising rookies. Hardy’s season may not be over, but he’s not going to get more than a few plays on the field this year, unless there is depletion in the LB department.

    The Kendall Blanton cut is a big one and says multiple things: – Rams want to keep extra WRs, maybe as many as 8 (as previously noted) – May need to keep 3QBs/4RBs. – Brycen Hopkins, Lance McCutcheon, Jacob Harris all made strong cases in camp and preseason

    So let’s say hypothetically the Rams keep 2 TEs, important to not look at a “TE3” as a guy who is marked on the roster as a TE. Jacob Harris can do TE things (whatever that may mean now). Lance McCutcheon. Ben Skowronek. Fun fact – Cooper Kupp ALSO does “TE things”. Liquid role.

    I may have said this before: I despise exhibition games. Should be outlawed. If I were king, so it would be written, so it would be done. That and shaky cams.

    The game is rough enough as it is. It beats the bejeesus out of players, day in, day out. But to lose an entire season over a completely meaningless game? Goddess I hate that. If you’re going to get hurt, let it at least count.

    Blanton is a surprise. Thought he was a lock after last postseason.
