As we said on @PFT_Live, the NFL and NFLPA need to let asymptomatic COVID positive players participate in games. There is no evidence of transmission on the field.

Both Browns and Rams have had COVID outbreaks.

Either the Rams brought this to the LA when they left Cleveland, or perhaps OBJ did…..

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is one of seven players being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Beckham hauled in six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown in the team’s thrilling victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Multiple Rams players have been placed on the COVID list in recent days, including running back Darrell Henderson Jr. and star cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

The Cleveland Browns will be without some of their players due to COVID-19. Cleveland placed eight players on the COVID list Tuesday, including four offensive starters.
They are wide receiver Jarvis Landry, guard Wyatt Teller, left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. and tight end Austin Hooper. ESPN is reporting that all eight players are vaccinated for COVID-19.

Rams place three more players on COVID-19 reserve, including Justin Hollins

Another day, another three players added to the reserve/COVID-19 list for the Los Angeles Rams.

After putting seven players on the list Tuesday, including Odell Beckham Jr. and Jordan Fuller, the Rams have put three more players on COVID-19 reserve Wednesday. The team announced OLB Justin Hollins, TE Johnny Mundt and TE Jared Pinkney have all been put on the list.

That brings to the total to 16 Rams players on COVID-19 reserve.

Vaccinated players are able to return if they test negative twice at least 24 hours apart. If they do not test negative twice, they’re permitted to be activated off COVID-19 reserve after 10 days.

Unvaccinated individuals are forced to self-isolate for 10 days and cannot enter the team’s facility. So as long as all of the players on the list are vaccinated, they will have a chance to return before Sunday’s game against the Seahawks.

Below is the full list of Rams players on COVID-19 reserve right now.

    Jalen Ramsey
    Darrell Henderson Jr.
    Rob Havenstein
    Dont’e Deayon
    Odell Beckham Jr.
    Terrell Burgess
    Brycen Hopkins

With 25 Rams now on COVID list, is Sunday’s game vs. Seahawks in jeopardy?

    By Gary KleinStaff Writer
    Dec. 16, 2021 5:07 PM PT

The Rams’ COVID-19 outbreak continued Thursday, with nine more players added to the league’s reserve/COVID-19 list, which could affect the status of Sunday’s scheduled game against the Seattle Seahawks at SoFi Stadium.

Star linebacker Von Miller was among those added to a list that includes 25 Rams from the roster and practice squad, among them star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, star receiver Odell Beckham Jr., starting safety Jordan Fuller and starting offensive lineman Rob Havenstein.

Rams coaches and players were not made available to the media Thursday. But the team has been in contact with the NFL to weigh options — including if they don’t have enough players available for Sunday’s game — a team spokesperson said before the most recent additions to the list were announced.

Miller, linebackers Troy Reeder, Obo Okoronkwo and Christian Rozeboom, offensive linemen Bobby Evans and Tremayne Anchrum, and defensive backs Jake Gervase, Kareem Orr and Antione Brooks were added to the list Thursday.

The Rams are one of seven NFL teams in intensive COVID-19 protocols, which require virtual meetings, mask-wearing and other actions.

The Rams closed their Thousand Oaks practice facility Tuesday and Wednesday, with plans to hold a jog-through Thursday. Meetings were held virtually and players were tested, but the jog-through was canceled, the spokesperson said.

Rams coach Sean McVay has said that all but one Rams players are fully vaccinated. The players on the reserve/COVID-19 list are fully vaccinated, the spokesperson said.

The NFL on Thursday announced updated protocols that include changes to “how fully vaccinated players can ‘test out’ of COVID-19 protocols and return from quarantine quicker,” NFL.com reported.

If a player or staff member is fully vaccinated and asymptomatic for at least 24 hours, he or she could return from quarantine as soon as the day after his or her initial positive test, the report said.

In 2020, the NFL rescheduled several games because of COVID-19 issues. But that was during a season in which fans were not allowed in most stadiums because of the pandemic.

Doing so this season might require greater logistical challenges.

Because the Rams facility has been closed, team trainers have not been able to attend to injured players, the spokesperson said.

Star tackle Aaron Donald and center Brian Allen, for example, were listed as limited on Wednesday’s projected injury report because of knee issues.

The Rams are coming off a 30-23 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, a game they won hours after learning that Ramsey and tight end Tyler Higbee would be sidelined because of COVID-19 issues. Havenstein, running back Darrell Henderson and cornerback Donte Deayon also did not play after being put on the reserve/COVID-19 list in the days leading up to the game.

Higbee has since returned to the roster.

Against the Cardinals, the Rams got important contributions from less-heralded players such as offensive lineman Joe Noteboom, back-up tight ends Kendall Blanton and Brycen Hopkins, and cornerback David Long among others.

The players did not have much time to prepare for their roles. But McVay said this week that late notice can sometimes help players who “can almost be conscientious to a fault” when afforded too much time.

“It is a very fine line where you don’t have a chance to overthink anything,” he said, “you just got to go react.”

Those players could again be called upon against the Seahawks (5-8) as the Rams make a push to overtake the Cardinals in the NFC West.

The Rams also have remaining games at Minnesota and Baltimore before playing the finale against the San Francisco 49ers.

Rams activate Odell Beckham Jr. and 5 others off COVID-19 reserve

The Los Angeles Rams have dealt with a serious COVID-19 outbreak in their building over the course of the last week, adding 29 players to the reserve list. But on Saturday, they began to get some players back.

The team announced that six players have been activated off COVID-19 reserve: WR Odell Beckham Jr., DB Dont’e Deayon, RB Darrell Henderson Jr., LB Justin Hollins, TE Brycen Hopkins and OT Alaric Jackson.

Unfortunately, two other players, Joe Noteboom and Robert Rochell, were also added to the COVID-19 list. Noteboom filled in for Rob Havenstein at right tackle in Week 14, while Rochell is currently on IR.

Among the players who are still on COVID-19 reserve are Jalen Ramsey, Von Miller and Havenstein, so the Rams aren’t in great shape yet.

Below are all of the moves made by the Rams on Saturday, including the signing of Damarion’s Randall to the practice squad and designating Travin Howard to return from IR.

The Rams will host the Seahawks on Tuesday instead of Sunday after the game was postponed due to the outbreak, giving players more time to be activated before kickoff three days from now.

They placed T Joe Noteboom and CB Robert Rochell on reserve/COVID list (Rochell already on IR).

Travin Howard is in the activation window off IR

LB Anthony Hines III, WR Brandon Powell are elevated from practice squad as COVID list replacements

Rams added K Ryan Santoso and LS Carson Tinker to practice squad as emergency options and also added DB Damarious Randall

With Henderson back, do you think Sony Michel continues to lead the backfield in touches?

He should – we’ll see. McVay wants to use both (Hendo a bit more in pass game)

The NFL and NFLPA have agreed to new protocols by which vaccinated players basically will be tested only when they have symptoms, with only “strategic and targeted” testing otherwise. Unvaccinated players will continue to be tested daily.

Rams News: Jalen Ramsey cleared to play vs Seattle

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 12/19/21
    By Blane Dydasco@BlaneDydasco Dec 19, 2021, 8:05am CST

The roller coaster that is the Covid-19 era National Football League rolls on with the latest news being good for the Los Angeles Rams. Early Saturday it was confirmed that Odell Beckham Jr was removed from the reserve list and cleared to play and later the same day, Jalen Ramsey became officially cleared to play per Peter Schrager.

With 24 players remaining on the Covid-19 reserve list as of late Saturday there is hopefully more favorable news to come before the Tuesday matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, but the activation of Ramsey is one of best updates to come since the postponement and since he already missed the Week 14 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Ramsey played a big role in the first matchup against the Seahawks pitching in to defend receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. There were no Seattle receivers that day that caught more than five passes. However, Metcalf did score two touchdowns on the Rams secondary, one of those coming with Ramsey and Taylor Rapp as the closest defenders.

Against Arizona, the secondary was forced to step up in Ramsey’s absence against AJ Greene and Deandre Hopkins. Darious Williams, David Long Jr, and Kareem Orr took on the load and held their own limiting Hopkins to 54 yards and keeping all Cardinals receivers from scoring any touchdowns.

If the defensive backs can keep their play consistent and get help from the return of Ramsey, then the Seahawks should have their hands full especially given the way the pass rush is coming together with the addition of Von Miller, the progressing play of Greg Gaines, and the always present pressure of Aaron Donald coming off a three sack performance.

Rob Havenstein, Tyler Higbee and Jordan Fuller out vs. Seahawks due to COVID-19

Rob Havenstein, Tyler Higbee and Jordan Fuller out vs. Seahawks due to COVID-19

The Rams fortunately got Von Miller, Jalen Ramsey, Odell Beckham Jr. and Darell Henderson Jr. back from COVID-19 reserve ahead of tonight’s game against the Seahawks, but they’ll still be without three starters.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Rob Havenstein, Tyler Higbee and Jordan Fuller will not play against the Seahawks after they failed to test out of the league’s COVID-19 protocols. That’s disappointing news because all three are important players and almost never come off the field.

Even after today’s moves, the Rams still have 16 total players on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Among them are Joe Noteboom, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and Terrell Burgess, who stepped up against the Cardinals in Week 14.

Noteboom replaced Havenstein last week at right tackle and played well, but the Rams will need a new plan if he isn’t activated before kickoff. It’s possible Bobby Evans will get the start, or they could move Austin Corbett or David Edwards outside to tackle.

Rams activate three more players from COVID-19 reserve

Only six players remain on COVID reserve now. Jordan Fuller, Tyler Higbee and Joe Noteboom are the three from the active roster who landed on COVID-19 reserve, while Javian Hawkins, Justin Lawler and Warren Jackson are practice squad players who are still on the list.

The Rams would love to get Higbee, Fuller and Noteboom back before Sunday’s game against the Vikings, but at this point, they probably just hope no other starters test positive.
