    of pleasing appearance; handsome.

Thanks wv I feel like I know myself now.

    Bragging is unseemly.

Calling someone unseemly is neither seemly nor unseemly. It’s aseemly.

To be fair, btw, so is calling someone aseemly.

You are displaying classic symptoms of dyseemlia…the inability to identify and use the correct derivation of ‘seemly’ in a sentence.

It’s one of our most prevelant tick-borne illnesses, second only to Lyme disease.

    Disease attacks are not seemly.

A person can’t help it if they have tick-borne illnesses.

It’s not like being a red-head, which is a lifestyle choice and therefore indefensible.

I watched Act I live, but I had tickets to another event Thursday, and didn’t get to see the second Act until last night. I took the pleasure of rewatching Act I while I was at it.

So…Goff…of whom I already had a high opinion, and expected to enjoy watching get even better…that was absurd. That was ridiculous. We have ourselves a QB. I wanted to rate him Top Ten at the beginning of the year, but in reviewing a list of all QBs in the league, I think I couldn’t honestly put him above 12 or 13 IIRC. I don’t watch a lot of other games, so I really can’t make informed comparisons to other guys (apart from SFO which I am forced to see portions of throughout the year). But I’ve seen a lot of games over the years, and a lot of Rams games. And Goff is a Real QB. Very real. His accuracy and velocity are just nonsense.

Two TD throws stood out in particular to me. The first TD pass to Gurley…I’ve watched that several times now, and I still don’t know how he got it in there. Gurley had a clear step, but Barr was in the way. I just can’t see a straight line from Goff to Gurley no matter how many times I see that. It must have been a curveball. The other throw was to Kupp in the corner of the end zone in double coverage. A dart thrown about 30 yards while he was on the run into a tight window. Both live and last night I was struck by Aikman calling it a great catch. That ball was right THERE. The catch was routine. The pass was incredible.

On defense, well…that was less impressive. Peters seemed to get burned several times. Probably more times in this game than he has all season up to now. Combination of a good offense and calf injury, I suppose, but I hope it was the calf, and he will be better next week. I think we are all hoping to see more sacks in the future. The LBs are still pretty green, and I hope their play improves each week because they are mediocre at best, seems to me.

Anyway. Any victory is a good victory, especially over the Vikings.

yeah. his accuracy is next level.

not only can he hit the receiver in stride. he can hit the receiver in stride where only the receiver can make a play on the ball. he can hit the target within the target.

combine that accuracy with his footwork. and his toughness which he’s displayed since his days at cal.

and he seemingly has this desire to continually get better. he’s beginning to learn the playbook inside and out. to the point that he’s just seeing and reacting instead of thinking. but he seems thirsty for even more. i want to see that manning-like obsessiveness over football. i see signs of it, but it’s still too early to tell.

and he’s only 23 years old. will turn 24 in october. he can get stronger. my guess is he won’t physically reach his peak until 2020. some guys develop later physically. and he must be one of those guys.

i gotta say. i’m surprised. i didn’t think he’d be this good. and who knows? maybe he comes back to earth a little as the season goes on. but shoot. at his stage of development (and coming from that college offense at cal) it’s a little startling that he’s developed this fast. and you wonder how high his ceiling actually is. the more and more he sees as he keeps playing, he will sharpen his skills that much more. it’s only his second season in the same system. he’s seemingly learned so much more about this offense in one offseason. how much more can he absorb in another offseason after having gone through another season of getting live action reps?

    should be interesting.

Yeah, the gunslinger is coming out of him now. With Fisher he was so raw and clueless. The air-raid background and all.

But now he’s feel’in it. He’s trusting himself. Gunslinger at times. Hence the INT in the endzone.

Anywayz, the Thursday nighter will live a long time in my memory too. It goes down with the John Hadl, Harold Jackson game against the Cowboys. Remember those perfect rainbows?

Also the warner game against Miami.

I cant think of any others at the moment.

And against the motherfucking vikings. Granted, these arent the Bud-Grant Vikings. The cold-weather, nordic, Met-stadium Vikings. Still, they wear the Purple and Yellow. So it counts.

    Game 4 recap

    The Great

    1) The 5 amazing passes Goff threw. Guy has a day like that and we start thinking long term about the health of our team, don’t we? Like a guy makes 2 passes like that and we can shrug it off. 5 is intangible talent.

    2) Cooooooper… I’m really glad I got his jersey.

    3) Offensive line … goodness what a unit. The run blocking is unreal.

    4) Gurley responding to high intensity situations with matched intensity.

    The Good

    5) Post game, but the Cairo Santos signing.

    6) Aaron Donald sighting just in the nick of time.

    7) Run Defense.

    8) Cooks’ hands and strength are both better than I had previously thought.

    9) Sam Shields held up okay. Especially like him batting passes.

    10) Khadarell Hodge sighting on teams …

    11) Littleton’s quality play. I loved him coming out, but I never thought he’d hold up inside.

    The Bad

    12) Peters was off, especially misjudging that TD over his head.

    13) Not getting pressure FAST enough. 2.5 seconds isn’t fast enough to make someone move …

    14) Countess bringing the ball out of the end zone.

    15) Cousins played amazing football, but under no circumstances is it okay to allow 450 passing yards.
