Nail biter. Lost in the last minute, missed FG.

    Rams 3-2.

They did show some stuff on the road in Seattle.

yeah. tough road game with a chance to win at the end.

kupp and everett let goff down on the second to last drive. i think the stats don’t do goff justice on this one. terrible luck on that int. and two dropped passes on that second to last drive.

    some bad defense. bad tackling.

it’s gonna be a tough season.

Just got home from work–missed the game. Heard a little here and there on a radio.

My big question is: what happened to the defense?

It feels rather sudden that they just are not very good.

Our run D struggled, & had too many open WRs in the zone. Again, we need to protect the ball. 2 tunovers, one from Gurley, but I can’t blame the INT on Goff, should have been a catch on Everett, but the Seattle DB, Thompson did make a great catch on it though as well. Not used to Legatron missing chip shot field goals like that, especially if they are game winners. It is starting to feel, it could be one of those seasons, a season that nothing goes right, and it could be a losing season or we could be an 8-8 to 9-7 type team right now. Just feels like that right now.

For some reason I did not get too excited about this game. I think they played better than last week and could have with a FG. Or, could have tied? If they had not failed when going for 2 or not going for 1. If they make it. Maybe they win. 😉

Great game came up a little short. The D started out flying around but second half the old vets looking like they lost a step, Talib and Weddle don’t finish like they start. You can only get so upset with a one point loss in Seattle.Goff can definitely put the team on his back and put them in position to win but still more wtf moments than there should be. One good thing they can knock you out of that 6/1 now and that will only get better.

Wilson had a big game I see.

One thing I always liked about Greg Williams – he knew how to stifle Wilson. Of course, his defense would get lit up by someone like Mike Glennon the next week, but…

I only saw the highlights, but it looks like Wilson is the best player in the NFC, right now.

Looked like the rams D was oh-so-close time after time, but RW is RW.

Gonna be a dogfight this season. No team is gonna run away with it.

Their next opponent is the 49ers, who play on Monday night. That’s not going to sit well with them.

    But I’m okay with it.

That was a better game than the Bucs game, obviously. The Rams lost that on a missed FG. That’s it. A couple of bad breaks were the difference in this game. And that penalty that pushed them back right before the FG could also be pinned as the reason they lost, I suppose…if you are a believer in one play making the difference in the game.

In the grand scheme of things, I kinda am-ok with the fact the Rams lost. I almost like it. There’s just somethin about this team that dont deserve to be 4-1. Ya know. 3-2 seems exactly right.

Just seems to me this year’s ‘identity’ has somethin to do with struggling, clawing, fighting. Last year was so…easy, up until late in the season.

This year they are gonna hafta win the hard way. Its not a dream-team. But if the OLine begins to gel, and the tight ends get in the flow…

There’s still a good chance this team can go far. But their gonna haf to ‘earn this.’

they lost to a team with a special special qb. on the road. one of the most hostile road venues in the nfl.

and they had a chance to win at the end. so you know. this team obviously has flaws. but they showed a mental toughness i think.

the tight ends get in the flow

this needs to happen. everett is magic with the ball in his hands. higbee is a big target. maybe this is the solution to the way defenses have been playing the rams? dunno.

You are what your record is. They have played like a three and two team so far this season. Hopefully that gets them to 10 and six by the end of the year

I’m a die hard Ram fan, and I’ve been in it every year, every game, for 33 years. I would trade a long term lesson with a young team for a win.

I don’t feel like I need to make excuses, because we literally had it. we got to kick the winning field goal. Missing that is a bummer, and I will explain something I saw with it before going into the analysis.

We drove down the field so fast that I think McVay was still in pushpushpush mode when we landed on the thirty. When we got to 3rd down, with 20 seconds life, my wife piped up (she rarely pays attention) from the background “Um, why aren’t they kicking now?” and though I could explain why, I agreed with her. Center of the hashes, 47 yarder, no timeouts … not too many good things can happen here if you run a play … and you can’t spike it to stop the clock …
I know in real time McVay was pushing for every yard. But he was just doing math, not angles and psychology.

As soon as he didn’t decisively take a 3rd down FG, I could feel everything get kinda fuzzy, Goff was looking around like he was confused on the reads, and then we have a false start. Now we HAVE to have a short play that’s going to take us to the left or right hash.

When you can choose to kick a comfy 47 yarder to win on 3rd down or risk a sack or INT for only a few more yards which will also take you out of the center of the field… you do it. McVay hasn’t been in that spot before, so it’s a lesson. And I’d rather him learn it here.

Also, I’m really curious to see how much of a difference Taylor Rapp’s loss has made.

Also, I waited too long and had a long weekend so Im going to forget stuff.

    The Great

    1) 1:40, no timeouts, no problem. That’s the offense I want.

    2) Everett break out game. It only takes 1 to change a career path.

    3) Kupp looking like an all pro.

    The Good

    4) No late hit penalties on Wilson’s slides. That irked me so bad for years, we’d always have at least one.

    5) The coverage on the option when we stopped them at the end.

    6) Gurley TDs … I know many are speaking ill of him … or like he’s not engaged fully … I want him engaged in week 19 and 20. If he’s not then, that’s an issue.

    7) That Wilson had to have a perfect game against us to beat us by one … at home. He makes any mistakes and we win that game walking away.

    8) Forcing them to convert a 4th and goal.

    The Bad

    9) No kicking the FG on 3rd down.

    10) Not spying RW more.

    The Ugly

    11) Aqib coming off his man.

    12) Busted play to Metcalf (which Weddle said was his?)

    13) Giving up 135 yards to that junk O line.
