I still have to watch it. Just saw highlights but wow. Dominated them. That’s a butt whooping.

A special thanks to Jeffery Osborne and the power of positive thinking.

    Loving it.

Quinn is back ! OL was opening Buick sized holes for Gurley and Brown. Robey-Coleman was outstanding. Vikings and Eagles not wanting a rematch after watching that one.Cooper is the best in the league. Coming back after a heartbreaker at home to crush the bully on the block in their house, McVay is going to be a great coach for a very long time.

todd gurley. what’s so refreshing is not so much his yardage totals and touchdowns. it’s the efficiency at which he is producing these numbers. he’s not getting an excessive amount of carries, and he’s become such a force in the receiving game as well. his average per carry is now up to 4.6. that’s astonishing considering he was averaging less than 4 yards per carry in the month of september. just hope he continues to develop his game. i don’t see why he wouldn’t.

aaron donald. he’s now tied a career high of 11 sacks with 2 games to go. i said in the offseason that he should get whatever he asks for. i stand by that. he’s what a face of the franchise should look like. ultra-competitive. won’t be outworked. and just a freakish athletic talent. when he gets his hands on you, it’s over. pay the man.

robert quinn. oh, brother. if this guy is back, wow. that changes everything in the offseason. now i’m not foolish enough to think that he’ll ever be completely his old self. but if he can be productive like he has been in these past 4-5 games, the rams need to keep him. i think the weight loss has done him good. less stress on the back.

andrew whitworth. i think this guy can play at a high level for the next 2 years after this season at least. they need him to.

I must add watching Woods pick up right where he left off was awesome! Seems like that guy is always the answer. Kupp didn’t let the drop stop him, that sideline YAC was crazy good so many stand outs Johnny Johnson was ballin as well Troy Hill made some plays, Littleton on and on playmakers everywhere.

I only saw hi-lites so far. But geez, Seattle looked awful. Reminded me of when the White-Sox threw the World Series back in 1919.

Biggest win for the Rams since….?

Two more big games though. And the 49ers look much improved.

The Rams have responded extremely well after each loss this season

They won in Jax, NY, SEA and at home vs a very good Saints team…the Rams have won all these games after some tough heartbreaking loses

McVay and Phillips have shown the ability to have the team well prepared to comeback and win these important games.

I enjoyed the game too, that game was over in mid 2nd qtr, which gave us fans time to enjoy an important division match up with no worry

    geez, Seattle looked awful.

Part of that was injuries on their defense.

BUT also part of it is that the combo of Donald and Quinn just destroyed the Seattle OL. To point where Wilson was as rattled as I have ever seen him. The Rams DL normally gets after Wilson more effectively than anyone in the league, but this was up a notch. I think other posters saw this too (ie that it was up a notch). AND unexpectedly the coverage was just fantastic, probably the best all year, and that of course made the DL even more effective. Seattle barely ever crossed the 50, maybe once or twice? If they ever even did it at all.

That was a spectacular beatdown of Wilson by the Rams. They got inside his laundry, and then inside his head. He made a couple of plays worthy of a 3rd string rookie. His desperation pass that spun into a lateral for a big loss was astonishing. But he topped off his career day with his intentional grounding from the end zone when his pocket was as clean as it had been all day.

As joemad observed, the game was over in the 2nd quarter, and with 8 minutes left to halftime, my concern shifted to “Can the Rams keep their focus together while they kill 2 1/2 quarters of clock?” You see teams have letdowns in these situations that can allow an opponent to eek back into a game they have no business contesting. But the Rams didn’t let it happen.

A big moment – imo – was when McVay called the defense over after some sloppy unnecessary roughness and told them to get their shit together, and focus on winning the game. They went right back out, and put their foot on Seattle’s neck, and kept it there until the end of the game. That was a Big Deal, imo.

Goodness, if I had known ahead of time that Goff was going to end up with under 200 passing yards, I would have expected the worst. That game was all Defense, Todd Gurley, and Pharoh Cooper. The Rams simply gashed Seattle from the opening drive. I am surprised the Seattle fans didn’t turn on them sooner. But they may have been in such shock, they couldn’t process it.

In the biggest Rams game in more than a decade, the Rams rose up and eviscerated an opponent in a notoriously difficult place to win.

This team will be a preseason favorite to win it all next year. The renaissance has finally come to Rams fans. Our 40 years in the wilderness is officially over. The Spags, the Linehans, the Fishers. All the signs of an imminent harvest that collapsed under fire blight year after year…over.

It is Thanksgiving, people. And there is bounty on the table. It is playoff time, the Rams are here, and winter is coming.

I have only watched the first half so far but that is exactly right. Man–the defense was incredible. They gave Seattle no chance. This was played like a Jeff Fisher wet dream. This is what it SHOULD have been with him. Great running and devouring defense. Add in great special teams. The passing game took a back seat in this one. Goff did not even play particularly well(another strip) but McVay did the smart thing in this one and let Gurley take over the game.

That seems to be McVay learning.

This was very positive and fun to watch.

I’ll watch the second half later but what a half of football. Has this team ever had so dominating a half of football? Ever?

I’ll feel better when they wrap this division up for sure–hopefully next week. Then give the starters a rest in the last week and charge into the playoffs. This team is capable of beating any team in the playoffs. I’m not saying they will. But they have the talent and coaching to do it.

I’ve never seen Wilson look that rattled.
And i dont think he ever got hit all that hard. Just often.

Its not like he took the kind of hit that Foles took against Green Bay way back when he was a ram.

I just wish the ball Wilson threw backwards had stayed in bounds and Brockers would have taken it to the house.

    Best Rams game since?

This is up there with the crushing of the 49ers in Week 4 of ’99
Beating Minnesota in the playoffs that year (including a 35 point 3rd quarter)
Intercepting Favre 5 times in the playoffs in…2001?

Also loved Bulger’s comeback against San Diego.

This is a game I won’t ever forget, though. Right up there among the best.

    from alyoshamucci :

Blinkscout Game 14 … Rout of the Hawks

I can’t say I’ve been happier for an outcome since I saw Bruce do the “throat-slash” move against the 9ers in 99′ … honestly. It was a good day (I also got the finals in my two most important fantasy leagues) …

I think we’re seeing our offseason shape up as well. I am a huge Watkins fan, but if he wants to stay on an offensive powerhouse, he can’t break the bank. Because flat out? Robert Woods gets more separation. I think Robert Woods and Marvin Jones may go down as the best “afterthought signings” of the decade. Both were 2s on their original team and turned out to have elite skills on their next team. So I’m fine with Kupp and Woods and Reynolds next year if Sammy wants 16 million per… ensuring Donald stays and locking up Gurley soon are my priorities. The tough part is that Quinn looks better every game .. restructure maybe with injury clauses and bonuses?

    The Great

    1) That feeling of watching perennial a powerhouse come undone.

    2) Holy Cow … The D line against a flailing O line

    3) Gurley … 4 TDs … gets him on the books. Puts him in the running for MVP or OPOY

    4) Oh my LORD Pharoh Cooper.

    5) Woods route running and playing at full speed after the injury.

    6) Donald hat trick. Goodness. Guess we have to pay him.

    7) May not seem like a huge thing, but for me, McVay pulling everyone over and settling them down in the late 3rd quarter (IIRC) was a huge vet coach move and made me trust him even more.

    The Good

    8) Joyner consistently making big plays … kinda surprised he wasn’t at least an alternate for the pro bowl.

    9) Robey Coleman playing some stout, mean, hard hitting, fast football.

    10) Offensive line play. They seemed to really settle in. Can’t believe we’ve started the same five all year.

    11) Jared … grip that ball, buddy.

    12) Having a tiny cushion … being able to lock up the division this week.

    13) That feeling of potentially knocking Seattle out of the playoffs.

    The Bad

    14) Kupp’s drop. So it’s a Seattle thing?

    15) Anyone else have anything here? I’m running out of negatives. maybe that we didn’t involve Everett and Reynolds more once it got out of hand?

    No Ugly …

I really enjoy the fact the Rams have to play all these good teams in the second half of the year. This is such great experience for this young team.

    Minny
    Philly
    New Orleans
    Tennessee
    San Fran

This is great. I didnt count Seattle because they were totally crippled. Strangely San Fran looks a LOT more dangerous than Seattle did due to the injuries.

The Rams will have to EARN it.

My favorite quotation from sports writers on this game.

I don’t even remember who it was, but he said something along the lines of Rams beat Seattle 42 to 7, and “it wasn’t even as close as the score made it look.”
