That game will be defined by the mistakes, including Goff’s Yepremian play and Natson’s stupid fumble and Everett and Gurley not getting out of bounds
Another piece of continuity—every Rams loss under McVay, Donald gets no sack
December 17, 2018 at 12:13 am #95276JackPMillerParticipantEagles running at will against our D.
This team needs some playmaking LBs. Ekuban, and Littleton are backups on good defensive front sevens. Mark Barron needs to be cut after the season. We need Fowler to step up.
Even though Joyner made a few plays near the end of the game, he will be expensive, so I let him walk like Suh.
This teams needs to get OLine help in Free Agency. Maybe it is time to cut bait with Whitworth. Love for us to get Guards DJ Fluker and Ramon Foster in free Agency. Both are like 335ish.
Don’t think Talib is back 100%, so I’d give him a one year deal and hope he accepts for next year.

fwiw, small note: Talib is already under contract for 2019.
December 17, 2018 at 12:41 am #95281InvaderRamModeratorThis team is making too many mistakes.
too many mental errors.
this team is collectively just out of it.
December 17, 2018 at 1:22 am #95282HerzogParticipantGoff should have spiked the ball also. I think Brockers did better in the Suh role than Suh.
The league has figured out offense out. Its on McVay now.
December 17, 2018 at 2:02 am #95284Eternal RamnationParticipantFlabbergasted after listening to McVay postgame. How do you build continuity? Practice practice is how build continuity dumbass.Reynolds Goff and Everett aren’t going to improve through skipping practice. Handle your personal shit and do your job.Part of which is is dealing with Wades decline
December 17, 2018 at 2:18 am #95285ZooeyModeratorI did not see all of it, but what I saw was discouraging.
The Rams started off the season with some dominating performances. When they played a tough team in the Chargers, they came through. Since the game where Talib and Peters got hurt, though, this team has been in decline.
The offense still rolled, and McVay made great halftime adjustments right up through the KC game while the defense struggled. Well…now the offense is struggling, too. I will admit that the defense has improved since Talib returned in terms of points allowed…but they still can’t stop the run. I am pretty damn tired of seeing 7 and 8 yard runs against this defense again and again. And when the Rams can’t get to the QB…they lose.
I didn’t see the D step up and make plays tonight. Sacks, stuffs, TOs, busted plays…you just don’t see the Rams’ defense assert itself and take control. Like…ever. Talib’s interception tonight saved the Rams from being blown out, but you never get the sense the Rams defense is the master of the game. And this is a defense of all-stars. On paper, it looked absolutely fabulous except for the LBs.
Now I don’t know if it is personnel, or scheme, but it looks like scheme to me. The players they have on D have proven themselves to be red and blue chip players with the exception of Ebukam.
And now the offense can’t get going. Losing Kupp matters, but his loss alone does not account for the sudden mediocrity of the offense. Since the KC game, this team has gone from moving the ball at will to struggling to put together a drive. And the big strikes are a thing of the past. Goff’s accuracy is off, the receivers seem to be covered, the OL can’t keep the pressure off, and Gurley gets nailed for losses and short gains frequently.
This looks like a team on the decline at the time of year everyone needs to get hot. They look just so-so. They have lost to the Bears, the Saints, and now the Eagles while barely surviving the Chargers, Packers, and Chiefs.
This does not look like a team of destiny. At all.

Does our future really look good?
1. Is Goff the QB the guy to lead us to a Super Bowl or two? I know this was posted, but it is something that is true.
2. The OLine. Are we going to have an OLine that will be able to protect Goff for years to come?
3. Todd Gurley. If Malcolm Brown is not healthy, we will rely too much on him, and gave Gurley a nice contract, but I worry he is going to get seriously hurt.
4. Our D. What can I say? It sux.
December 17, 2018 at 8:20 am #95287InvaderRamModeratornot in panic mode yet.
goff had a poor game, but i’m not entirely surprised. i actually expected something of a setback before the season started. all a part of a young qb’s development.
i think mcvay is right when he says goff has to make better decisions. he was forcing things in the first half of the game. and then on top of that he made some wildly inaccurate throws.
he needs reps. this whole offense needs reps.
and what’s this talk of personal problems? is there something i’m missing or is this just conjecture?
anyway. this defense needs new personnel. it’s not a matter of reps. some players need to be replaced.
barron is done. they need edge rushers. i wonder if fowler is even an answer. ebukam invisible. they need to get donald some help.

It’s conjecture.
Actually I think the one with the problems at home is McVay. But that’s conjecture too.

speaking of conjecture, i think gurley’s been hurt.
and he’s been for awhile. would explain why he hasn’t been used as much lately.
December 17, 2018 at 10:01 am #95295ZooeyModeratorIn the twitter feed on CBS, someone said Gurley hurt his knee. I can’t really listen to Collinsworth. He makes my skin crawl.
Anyway. Something about a knee.
December 17, 2018 at 10:08 am #95296ZooeyModeratorBTW…I didn’t see it…I read it in the play-by-play…did the Rams really go for it on 4th down from their own 30?

They did a fake FG, pass, it was close though.
December 17, 2018 at 2:33 pm #95326HerzogParticipantIt’s time for the “blessing in disguise” BS I always tell myself when I feel bad after a loss. Here goes:
It’s a good thing this is happening to us now instead of the playoffs. This reminds me so much of Atlanta last year. If Mcvay can figure out a way to excel in this new way defenses’ are playing us, than the team can be more playoff ready
There, now I don’t feel better at all, but I tried
December 17, 2018 at 3:43 pm #95328snowmanParticipantSpeaking just for myself, I have to remember that Goff just turned 24 years old. Even though some of his throws yesterday were really disappointing, he is really young. Two years from now in the same situation, he hits Everett for the TD and we win the game on a late field goal.
December 18, 2018 at 8:44 pm #95372wvParticipantThe team picked a bad time to implode.

vDecember 19, 2018 at 10:09 pm #95424ZooeyModeratorI blame Pharoh Cooper.
The guy was always a cancer on this team, and now that he is gone, the Rams have lost their last game of the season.
