On ESPN radio Albert Breer was one with Van Pelt and Rosillo.
He claimed that Fisher scouted Cutler when he was drafted and he liked him. And Fisher is friends with Shanahan who also scouted and liked Cutler, in fact he traded up to draft him.
Then he noted Fishers success with guys with questionable character like Jenkins and Ogletree and some in his Tennessee time. He said Cutlers past would not scare Fisher and that he thinks St. Louis is the most likely landing spot for Cutler.

Bears have no alternative and won’t want to eat the cap…
Plus… Bradford is going to be Comeback Player of the Year in 2015…
Sports is the crucible of human virtue. The distillate remains are human vice.
December 19, 2014 at 11:09 pm #14260TackleDummyParticipantCutler’s Contract: 1/2/2014: Signed a seven-year, $126.7 million contract. The deal contains $54 million guaranteed — each of Cutler’s first three base salaries. There was no signing bonus. 2014: $17.5 million (+ $5 million “signing” bonus), 2015: $15.5 million, 2016: $16 million, 2017: $12.5 million (+ $2.5 million in per-game roster bonuses), 2018: $13.5 million (+ $2.5 million in per-game roster bonuses), 2019: $17.5 million (+ $2.5 million in per-game roster bonuses), 2020: $19.2 million (+ $2.5 million in per-game roster bonuses), 2021: Free Agent
If I read this correct, if the Bears trade Cutler to the Rams the Rams would be on the hook for Cutler’s 2015 15.5M salary and his 2016 16M salary. Nothing else is guaranteed. And the Bears would be on the hook for nothing if they traded him. (No prorated bonus would be charged against their cap.)
On the other hand, if the Bears cut Cutler they would be on the hook for both of his next two year’s salaries.

No. Wrong. Of the decade. Comeback Player of the Decade.
And, upon receiving that, he will be filled with such a sense of accomplishment, he will retire.
December 20, 2014 at 10:49 am #14292znModeratorHave the Bears agreed to trade Jay Cutler to Titans?
http://national.suntimes.com/national-sports/7/72/353271/jay-cutler-tennessee-titans/
The Chicago Bears benching Jay Cutler in favor of Jimmy Clausen was really odd.
The hot takes are scorching and Cutler’s teammates seem to be at a loss.
Now, a prominent Chicago radio station host is saying the reason the Bears have benched Jay Cutler is because they have a deal lined up with the Tennessee Titans.
Cutler played college football at Vanderbilt in Nashville and he has been coveted by the Titans before.
Is this the logic that makes sense of all the Bears’ weirdness the last few days?

1 hr ·Several NFL executives believe that it’s possible for Bears QB Jay Cutler to go from being benched to becoming a first-scenario, test-case trade. Never before has a team trading a player also had to give up drat-pick compensation to get rid of him. But some NFL executives believe that with any team having to absorb $25.5 million worth of guarantees in Cutler’s contract,
the Bears might have to package a decent draft pick to get another team to take him.
NFL rules dictate that nominal compensation must be exchanged between teams, but it could mean another team surrendering a late-round pick to Chicago for Cutler and a better pick. Such a scenario could enrage Bears fans, but to get a team to take on so much guaranteed money that could be used on valuable free agents and contract extensions, the Bears just might have to compensate a team with more than Cutler to do it.

vSo you’re saying you prefer a young meathead to a veteran meathead?
Cutler is this generation’s Jeff George. Million $$ arm, ten cent head.
December 20, 2014 at 2:36 pm #14307JackPMillerParticipantI still think Tampa Bay could still be in the mix as well. Just saying. I believe it will come down to Tennessee and Tampa Bay. Tennessee as a slight favorite right now

So. The Bears are so done with Cutler, they’re willing to give up a pick for someone to take him.
December 20, 2014 at 3:07 pm #14310sdramParticipantCutler… kinda seems like nonsense. If the rAms can get Cutler, perhaps they can trade him for RG!!! and some picks? If that doesn’t make sence to anybody then I don’t know what does regarding St Louis acquiring Mr Cutler.

December 20, 2014 at 3:59 pm #14314WinnbradParticipantThere’s some nasty math involved in trying get rid of Cutler. I’m not saying it won’t happen, but boy that’s a lot of money for a QB that looks like he never gives a damn about anything.
The Rams aren’t touching him.

There was a time New York depended

vDecember 20, 2014 at 8:40 pm #14329joemadParticipantCutler is simply not a winner.
I agree with Jack P Miller, I think to Tampa with Lovie.
“””””Under Cutler in 2011, the Bears went 7–3, and were on the verge of a playoff berth. Offensive coordinator Mike Martz was commonly criticized for aggressive play-calling in 2011, and the calls for a pass-happy offense led to Cutler getting repeatedly sacked, including an incident in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints, in which Cutler was sacked 6 times, and was also kicked in the throat.[83] The issue caused Cutler to say to Martz, “Tell him I said fuck him!” in a game against the Minnesota Vikings.[84″””””””
