Solid indeed!

Great punts and punt coverage.

Defense was dialed

Offense was balanced.

I think I’ve had it with Sloman…

I like what some of the younger players on defense showed. Lewis, Burgess, Hollins, and I even saw Scott out there.

Not a perfect game, but we came through. I know people will get on Sloman on the block, I won’t, as I get on him for his other misses this year. as I am seeing him getting yelled at for the block. The guy is 6’5″ with a wingspan of 7’2″. He was Jumping. Jeesh. We don’t have anyone like that on our roster. Hekker to me, was the MVP of the game. That guy is a weapon.

brown and hendo are both solid and tough.

burgess looked good today. but i’m bummed about his injury.

Saw the hi lites. THAT was a quality win. Chicago has made them look bad recently.
I was concerned this would be really ugly.

I will be watching the OLine when i watch the replay.

Good win. Running game was humming against a good defense.

Goff seems to have regressed a bit over the last two games. Missed some open receivers again. Not as sharp as he was in the first 5 games.

The defense looked great. Hekker and the D get the game balls, IMO. Floyd is becoming what they hoped he’d be: great against the run and the pass.

Goff is a bit erratic, though, showing Top-Five-level game on one play, and then journey-man stuff on another. He’s got to find a way to steady up, if the Rams want to play well into the playoffs. Throw it away if there’s nothing there. He can force it at bad moments, etc.

Overall, it was a lot of fun to watch this one. The Rams of Monday Night are a solid playoff contender. Given how tough the remainder of the schedule is, we’re going to see if this same team shows up for the rest of the season. I think it will. Actually, I think they’ll get even better, especially when Robinson joins the DT rotation.

I was wondering if his miss to Brown in the first half was bad pass or miscommunication between Goff and Brown. I thought that it looked like Goff assumed that Brown was going to keep going instead of cutting off his route.

Agree on Goff. He loses accuracy when he feels pressure, and I was hoping that this year is the year he improved in that area, but he hasn’t. With good protection, he is very accurate with the once-a-game wild pitch, but under pressure, he regresses.

On that pass to Brown…looked to me like Brown stopped short in the wide open space and Goff led him into a narrower window. Miscommunication.

The Lewis sighting was impressive. Would love to see more of that.

The defense did a great job overall. They did some bending, but didn’t break. That secondary is really good.

Chicago has to be self-doubting now. The Bears defense outscored the Bears offense. And Foles apparently questioned his OC’s play-calling in talking to Griese before the game. I’m guessing that team has hit its high water mark for the season, and is on its way down to the pack.

Interesting team this year. Sometimes they look really strong, some times they look average.

Need to win half or more of the division games.

Howdy guys. I just want to point out that of all the posters in this thread, I was the only one who defended Darrell Henderson when they drafted him. I was also the one who years ago said “for those who doubt Malcolm Brown, wait till you see him drag half the vaunted Bears defense 12 yards toward the goal line in a Monday Night game in late October in I think probably 2020.” I will look for the link to the post in a sec.

Dumb question, mostly cuz I should already know this, and also cuz I kinda think I do. And, well, cuz it’s not all that important.

But, anyway, just to be sure:

When the other team scores cuz of an offensive turnover, where do the stats go? The Rams’ D doesn’t get dinged for that, right?

It’s separate stats. There’s team points allowed, and then defensive points allowed.

It annoys me that the rams personnel experts cant come up with a better Kicker.
It startles me. This kid does not look like an NFL kicker. Is he Snead’s son-in-law or somethin?

Interesting game. Kinda sloppy in ways, but solid in other ways.
That Bear Defense has caused so many problems for McVay, I think we have to look at this as progress. Strategic and Execution progress. (Unless the Bear D has regressed)

The offense whip-sawed the Bear Defense, and muscled them around at times.
Thats not what happened in the last two bear games.

And thats without Higby.

Goff just looked out of it for much of the night. It was one of those weird Off-Goff games. But they didnt need him. Or Higby. And thats what was interesting.
The OLine held up just enough. The RB’s were battering away. The motion and whip-sawing plays were so crisp and effective.

Game ball to HekK-a-Tron. Let him kick field goals.

NFC West, man. They are gonna slaughter one another.

I dont either. What do i know, but the guy just looks awful out there. Looks like he has no confidence and why would he? And all the opposing kickers just looked better. They boom the ball and get it higher than slo-a-tron.

Is he really the 32nd best kicker in America? Surely they can find a better lousy-kicker than this.

I say all this KNOWING that the football gods will help him kick a 57 yard game-winner next week. I’m helping.

Game 7 analysis … Bears

Here’s to a solid win … likely a game we had an edge on because of Staley … but a solid win nonetheless with really solid individual efforts from many players …

The Great

1) Hekker. I mean … The Bears returner shaking his head after every punt drops inside the ten may be my favorite recurring theme. And he did it from every area of the field. And the watermelon punt? Goodness gracious. To be able to enjoy him after the depressing aspect of not getting a first down seriously changes my viewing enjoyment levels.

2) DBs, as a unit … the pass breakups and tackles in the open field … Hill tipping it to Rapp … Ramsey coming off his guy for the pick … Dareus with the PD in the endzone AGAIN (on what was honestly a well thrown ball) … Burgess’ read and react skills and JJ3 being all over the place. I’m trying to think of a time when I had more faith in our DBs as a unit, and I can’t. A combination of great scouting drafting and coaching (likely mixed with the precision of who they face in practice every day) has really led to an outstanding unit. And that’s not even mentioning Fuller.

3) The two play Malcolm Brown TD. I don’t know why I haven’t compared him to a rhino before, they way he bucks up under the guy trying to tackle him, but I will be doing that going forward. That is such a morale boost and motivating thing to see.

4) I thought the pass to Reynolds for the first TD was perfect.

5) Reynolds overall playing with confidence and making plays does well for our future comp pick situation.

The Good

6) Henderson getting his burst, initiating contact and driving forward … also? I thought specifically his vision has improved … he was hitting holes I didn’t know were there.

7) Offensive rhythm was there.

8) Mundt sighting!!! I liked him since he was on Oregon, TEs take slow roasting over 4-7 years …

9) I like the feeling of knowing that if Everett catches the ball with no one on him at the 10 he’s definitely going to score.

10) Goff spreading the ball around.

11) Terrell Lewis makin plays, man.

The Bad

12) Playcalling in the 4th quarter past the ten minute mark … I was talking to Sun Tzu at the time (who was livid about it) and had to figure that there was some metric he was using to know that the odds were on the side of taking minutes off the clock. But it’s not my ideal plan of attack.

13) More Terrell Lewis.

14) Get Akers some touches … maybe you’re saving him a bit and he’s green, but you get rookies touches.

15) Gonna miss Burgess.

16) I don’t like the missed hands to the face …

17) I ALSO REALLY DON’T LIKE the complete ignoring of the holding in the endzone.

18) Couple of the run plays we called were going the wrong way … entailed making a nearly impossible block based on the personnel.

The Ugly and the Gone

19) Sloman … as I said after the first game … he kicks too low.
