Stedman Bailey wows with trick catch

EARTH CITY, Mo. — St. Louis Rams receiver Stedman Bailey has 47 catches in his short, two-year career. Included in those grabs are a handful of one-handed hauls and others that have made fans stop and say “Ooooooooooh.”
But none are as impressive as the one he and the Rams posted to various social media accounts Wednesday. In the video, Bailey makes a one-handed catch while in the process of doing a backflip. He also appears to repeat the trick a few more times with two hands.
No need for me to explain further. See for yourself:

vSeems special to me. I didn’t notice how short Bailey is. Maybe that’s holding him back some?

Well it hurt him in the draft, for sure. But he’s got
long stretchy arms and great hands. If he stays healthy, and
If the QB stays healthy, and
IF the OLine stays healthy, and
IF the RB stays healthy,
i predict he’ll catch over 60 balls
for about 750 yards.w
vMay 7, 2015 at 6:29 pm #24273InvaderRamModeratori don’t feel that’s anything special.
i’m more interested in him catching passes on the field. third year. i wanna see 70 catches 900 yards.

I think he’s capable of that,
but I just think Fisher will spread the ball
around too much for any WR to get 900.w
vMay 7, 2015 at 7:31 pm #24275InvaderRamModeratori don’t know. derrick mason had 1000 yard seasons from 2001-2004 with the titans.
i think it can be done. as long as foles stays healthy.
May 7, 2015 at 8:49 pm #24279laramParticipantDerrick Mason didn’t have Quick, Austin, Bailey, Cook, & Britt to take balls from him either Invader.
WV’s point is valid!

true. but i do think he can reach 900 yards. i think that’s reachable. even with the ball being spread around. he’s got the most reliable hands, and when foles needs a first down, i’m thinking he’ll be looking for bailey.
curious as to what you think of gurley. luxury pick? too risky? ceiling? floor?
May 7, 2015 at 9:43 pm #24281znModeratorRanking the Rams receivers. BTW I don’t count Tavon as a receiver. He’s a combined yards guy. A CYG.
It seems to me that the consensus here is that the Rams receivers are ranked this way:
Bailey
Britt
QuickI would make a wild leap here and put Sasser at 4. Really. That’s not based on extensive scouting…it’s just a quick perception hunch from looking at highlights.
Givens? Enh.
May 7, 2015 at 9:55 pm #24283HerzogParticipantA healthy Quick is first on my list
May 7, 2015 at 10:12 pm #24284InvaderRamModeratori would include austin in it. and i would rank it.
britt
bailey
quick
austinbritt is still the most consistent receiver in this unit, although i think bailey could easily jump to the top spot this year.
quick. depends on how he comes back from the injury. he could possibly overtake britt as well.

================================
LaramI think Stedman Bailey is the best kept secret in the NFL.
I sure hope Foles can develop a rapport with him.
IMO Bailey should be the go to receiver when the Rams need a play.
—–
He doesn’t have prototypical #1 receiver size or speed but that’s fine.He can be a Hines Ward type receiver where he does all of the dirty work, plays BIG, and catches everything thrown his way.
He’s a chain mover, a playmaker and IMO can be a VERY clutch receiver.
He’s a smart kid that knows how to position his body and get open.
I would look for him every time in the Red Zone.
He works very well in tight quarters.
May 8, 2015 at 1:45 pm #24304ZooeyModerator661 yards and 1 TD in two seasons.
I’d prefer a receiver who was kept less of a secret.

Well i dont really know how to ‘rank’ them since they are so different:
Britt;Quick are big and strong
Bailey is clutch and will catch anything in midranges,
Cook is the mismatch-TE-who-drops-balls, and
Austin is sui generis (for better or worse)Its not a bad group if Quick can come back.

vMay 8, 2015 at 5:59 pm #24312InvaderRamModeratorwell i’m only basing my rankings on production and experience but yeah. they all bring different elements to the receiving corps. hopefully they are all able to complement each other.
