So what’s all this bullshit you posted about the Rams being #1 on defense?

    #1 according to what metric?

The stuff I posted before that had them at #1 was PFF grades.

This discussion in this thread is based on points and yards. If a team is top-10 in both yards and points allowed, by that metric, I counted them as a top defense. All the other 5 teams I listed meet that criteria. The Rams don’t quite because they are 13th in yards allowed. But they’re still a good defense. In fact probably technically top 10, if you balance the points and yards.

This is the post you refer to where PFF grades them #1.

Justin Herbert was pressured on 68.3% of his dropbacks per @NextGenStats (6/14 for 112 with an INT) and only saw a blitz on 12.2% of his dropbacks (obv Fangio doesn’t like to blitz if he can get base pressure).

To win a game despite that % is…breaking my brain.

Obviously you need a massive game from defense and special teams. But you also need a massively poor game from other offense. Whew man. 68.3%.

Eagles defense just mauled J.Herbert and that Charger OLine. Seven sacks, but it was worse than that. And Saquon goes for 120 yards. And AJ Brown gets 100 yards receiving.

And Herbert looked fragile with that hand injury.

And yet. Eagles 19 Chargers 22.

The @Eagles are now 15–27 when [ROT] Lane Johnson doesn’t play.

Every game he misses, stitch another thread into his gold jacket.
