Russell Wilson is headed to the #Steelers on a 1-year, $1.2M deal.
His stats in 2023:
• 15 games
• 66.4% completion rate
• 3,070 passing yards
• 6.9 yards per attempt, 204.7 yards per game
• 26 pass TDs – 8 INTs

Another monster payday for Cousins, who gets $100 guaranteed — $90M in 2024 and ‘25, plus another $10M in 2026 — and a fresh start in Atlanta at age 35. pic.twitter.com/NkFNMzSjF5

March 11, 2024 at 11:15 pm #149773ZooeyModeratorBurns is an interesting trade. A 2nd and a 5th?
Didn’t the Rams offer two 1sts a couple of years ago? And now they let him get away for far, far less in draft capital. They certainly must have considered it, and decided to pass on him.
Which suggests the Rams are happy enough with Byron Young that they don’t think they need be spendy at that position.
I looked up Burns. Last year, he had 8 sacks and 15 TFL. Young had 8 sacks and 8 TFL.
Considering it was Young’s first season, they can reasonably expect more production from him next year. Not saying he will be as good as Brian Burns, but statistically, he could be similarly productive in a couple of stats, anyway. At a fraction of Burns’ cost.
Dunno.
They have 11 picks. The Rams must be happy.
Or they’re talking to Hunter.

i think the rams got priced out. 30 million per? gotta think hunter gets close to that at least?
March 12, 2024 at 2:29 am #149781znModerator* The #49ers haven't had an edge rusher besides Nick Bosa have more than 8.5 sacks in a season since Aldon Smith in 2012.

March 12, 2024 at 7:56 pm #149828wvParticipantI saw a bit of this vid and it startled me, because the guy talking to Jason Kelce is a body-builder knowns as ‘mountain dog’ on the internet, and — he is huge. His arms are like telephone poles. But compared to Kelce he looks like peewee herman.
Anyway, I cant see how the Eagles can replace Kelce. I suspect its the biggest single-player loss in the NFL this year.

Some guy on the radio was saying yesterday that Kelce was a locker room leader, and he soured on the coach whatshisface-starts-with-an-S.
In his opinion, losing Kelce was losing the locker room, and that Philly could have their end-of-the-season flameout continue into next year because Coach whatshisface may not get the team back together.

I haven’t seen Carson Wentz’s name in print in any context whatsoever this offseason.
But he didn’t pull a Baker.
March 14, 2024 at 6:25 pm #149869wvParticipantNick Wright has been high on the Rams for a while now. Has the Rams and the Lions in the tier just below the Chiefs.
(i like nick wright, btw. his tv-personna is truly-annoying, but if you can filter that out, i have noticed he tends to be right about a lot of things, and his analysis is often better than the other celebrity-pundits.)
March 15, 2024 at 3:26 pm #149936znModeratorGerry Dulac@gerrydulacThe Steelers made the move because of the way Pickett was poorly handling the arrival of Russell Wilson, according to sources. That came on the heels of Pickett’s behavior last season when he refused to dress as the emergency third quarterback in Seattle in Week 17..
Here is our story on the #Eagles trading for QB Kenny Pickett, who now becomes Jalen Hurts' backup: https://t.co/vkJtsDuTMbhttps://t.co/vkJtsDuTMb

QB Pressures in 2.5 seconds or less since 2014:1. Aaron Donald – 286
…
2. Von Miller – 191
Had 38 sacks on such plays, only one other player (Myles Garrett) has 30+ over the span
.Sarah Barshop@sarahbarshopRaheem Morris said he isn’t surprised Aaron Donald retired, but “it’s just more of the shock value because he has so much left.” “It sort of gives you that Gale Sayers, Barry Sanders kind of feel when a guy’s walking away when he really doesn’t have to.”.Sam Monson@PFF_SamSince entering the NFL, Donald has 119 more pressures than any other player. 119 is also the record for pressures over a single season. That’s how far clear of the field he is. Among DTs, he is 𝟐𝟒𝟏 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 clear of the next guy, Fletcher Cox..Earvin Magic Johnson@MagicJohnsonI just want to thank Aaron Donald for bringing a Super Bowl championship to Los Angeles. I bought a suite at SoFi Stadium to watch you play on Sundays. You never disappointed and always delivered an exciting game!
