Yes I believe that and here’s why.
1. Because their very existence as tapes violated league rules.
2. The Patz argued that the league could not take the tapes since the tapes had legal things on them which means the Patz owned the tapes. The league response was fine, we’ll just destroy them.
3. The tapes contained stolen signals and so could not be allowed to exist since they could be used, and once the league knew that and had its hands on them, it could not allow them to exist, or it would be party to their use. The league’s power to destroy them came from point #1—the very existence of such tapes violated league rules.
And this is crucial—IT IS NOT AGAINST LEAGUE RULES TO STEAL SIGNALS OR TO USE STOLEN SIGNALS. The league considers that unenforceable so that security is up to each individual team.
THEREFORE the tapes could not contain anything else that violated league rules.
The existing rule the Patz DID violate was to tape signals. They were busted and punished for that.
So unless someone can name another rule the Patz could have (hypothetically) violated, then I think the whole “destroyed evidence” is just not all that.

Quarterback Alex Smith has a new home, as sources tell The Star that the Chiefs have reached agreement to trade their veteran starter of the last five seasons to Washington.
The Chiefs will receive a 2018 third-round pick and a player to be named on Wednesday, a source confirmed, though any trade involving Smith can’t be completed until the first day of the new league year, which begins at 3 p.m. on March 14. But the sources say the deal is in place and will definitely proceed.
Smith, 33, is coming off a stellar season in which he set career-highs in passing yards (4,042), touchdowns (26) and passer rating (104.7), throwing just five interceptions.

Another member of the Rams’ 2017 offensive coaching staff has departed for a new opportunity, as the Titans named Matt LaFleur their new offensive coordinator. With the move, head coach Sean McVay has promoted offensive line coach Aaron Kromer to run game coordinator and tight ends coach Shane Waldron to pass game coordinator.
“I’m excited for Matt LaFleur and his family as he transitions to the Titans as offensive coordinator,” McVay said in a statement. “We’re grateful for his contribution to the Rams and our NFC West Championship season last year. As we move to 2018, we are confident in the leadership and guidance of Aaron Kromer and Shane Waldron as they begin their roles as run coordinator and pass coordinator.”
While LaFleur was an important piece of the Rams’ game planning and installation, he did not call plays in his first year as a coordinator under McVay. With former Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel newly hired as the Titans’ head coach, LaFleur will presumably call plays in Tennessee, which amounts to a promotion for the 38 year old.
This is the Rams’ second coaching departure for a promotion on offense this offseason. Greg Olson — Los Angles’ quarterbacks coach in 2017 — was named Oakland’s offensive coordinator earlier this month. L.A. promoted Zac Taylor from assistant wide receivers coach to quarterbacks coach to fill the void. Taylor was the Dolphins’ quarterbacks coach from 2013-2015.
“We want to be able to build from within here,” McVay said on the subject of assistant coaches earlier this month. “I think we’ve got a lot of good people that you want to try and do that. I think that’s what good organizations do when you just look around the league at kind of the landscape and how things have operated. So that’s going to be something that we’ll look at if we do end up losing some people.”
Kromer and Waldron both joined the Rams’ coaching staff for the 2017 season, and their promotions fit that mold. Kromer has spent over 15 years as an offensive line coaching the NFL, and previously held the run game coordinator title for the Saints from 2008-2012. Waldron is entering his fifth NFL season as a coach, having spent time with Washington and New England before joining L.A. last year.
Additionally, Los Angeles recently added to its offensive staff in hiring Jedd Fisch as senior offensive assistant. Fisch has extensive coaching experience in both college and the NFL, most recently serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UCLA in 2017.

With Matt LaFleur departing the Rams to become the Titans’ offensive coordinator, Los Angeles’ offensive staff will undergo a few more changes.
Head coach Sean McVay promoted offensive line coach Aaron Kromer to run game coordinator and tight ends coach Shane Waldron to pass game coordinator in order to help fill the void. McVay said earlier this month that if coaches leave for better positions with other organizations, his preference is to promote from within. One example of that already happened, as McVay promoted Zac Taylor to quarterbacks coach to replace Greg Olson.
“As we move to 2018, we are confident in the leadership and guidance of Aaron Kromer and Shane Waldron as they begin their roles as run coordinator and pass coordinator,” McVay said in a statement on Tuesday.
This title isn’t new for Kromer, who held the same position for the Saints from 2008-2012. Kromer was instrumental in the Rams’ blocking schemes in 2017, which set up running back Todd Gurley to finish No. 2 with 1,305 yards rushing and No. 1 with 13 rushing touchdowns.
Prior to landing in Los Angeles last year, Kromer spent two years in Buffalo — both of which the Bills finished No. 1 in yards rushing. In 2016, the club had three players rush for at least 500 yards in running back LeSean McCoy (1,267), quarterback Tyrod Taylor (580), and running back Mike Gillislee (577).
Waldron’s first season in L.A. came after he spent a season with McVay in Washington as the team’s offensive quality control coach. That was his first job in the NFL since 2009, when he coached tight ends for the Patriots. In between, Waldron coached a variety of offensive positions in college, including a four-year stop at UMass.
“I do have the luxury of coaching the offensive line and coaching the receivers in my past, so I have a pretty good mix of the understanding of both aspects of the game,” Waldron said in an interview with therams.com upon being hired in 2017.
While the Rams’ offensive coaching staff will look a bit different in 2017 — the club also recently hired former UCLA offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch — the top of it remains the same. McVay will still call plays for the No. 1 scoring team in 2017, which should further the development of quarterback Jared Goff

People talking does not mean they are “known” for something.
It means they are talked about a certain way.
And Faulk doesn’t have evidence, just a belief. We call that “a rumor.”
I believe the Patz have cheated. I also do not believe the fact that people SAY they did is evidence.

Ive been watching the Senior Bowl for about 8 years now, maybe longer … and I have simply never seen the type of fireworks this game had. Of course, it’s a combination of things since there are so many players, and I’ll try to break it down best I can.
The high score was a mix of GREAT QB PLAY, HIGH LEVEL INTELLIGENCE/SPEED WR play, High quality O line pass protection, and weak DB play (sorry guys … no first or second rounders by my calculations .. maybe no third rounders either).

Mike White and Lauletta played like they were battling for the #1 overall slot on the draft. I don’t know that they can jump anyone in the top 5 conversation … because this is such a great crop of top end QBs, but Mason Rudolph has got to be furious because his sixth spot is DEFINITELY not his anymore. Odds are he’s at 8 or 9 now. Benkert made plays too, and I’ve had him close all season as well.
I wouldn’t be so excited, but I am really looking forward to a guy like Stephens from CoSt. going undrafted. Maybe Benkert as well … Riley Ferguson? Shimonek? Goodness what talent.Josh Allen came back in to compete and got in rhythm … could he be the 1 overall? Maybe. Could 4 QBs go top 5 ? Yes. If Lamar Jackson shows well at the combine could 5 QBs go top 10? Yes.

I was not a huge fan of any of these players as pure runners … they are all 3rd down backs. I think someone in the NFL is going to look at Ballage and see david Johnson, and he could get drafted way higher than expected … especially after he runs in the low 4.4s.
Jaylen Samuels … if he lasted until the 5th, I would be hard pressed not to take him, because he is the only RB to be on the Belitnikoff watch list. he reminds more of Anquan Boldin than anyone else, so disregard him at your own risk. He has done nothing but make plays for 4 straight years.
Ito Smith and Akrum Wadley had some runs … I am more of a fan of the backup LSU kid Williams late.WRs
Man … Lazard and Hamilton had the best practices … but Trequon Smith, Chark, and Gallup had the best games. I have to say that the idea of taking a WR late to move Mike Thomas off the roster is seeming pretty attractive considering the type of talent that could be there. Ateman made a GREAT catch with a guy draped all over him for a TD as well. Chark hit speeds I was simply not expecting, even after watching him run jet sweeps at LSU. jaleel Scott is intriguing, caught a few good passes but mostly was playing catch up.Honestly, how these guys got on the same page so fast is pretty incredible.

I believe Gesicki is a first round talent who will likely go late 2nd because of Mark Andrews and Hurst and Goedert going in front of him … but my eyes are on Smythe and Ian Thomas … hoping one slides to the 6th. Thomas made a beautiful catch during the game and Smythe had a couple good ones.OT
Cappa played outside and inside … I think he’ll be a better OG at the next level but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him outside either.
Toth has to wait two years before he can play, and I’d still draft him in the 5th or 6th.
Noteboom had a decent game, not great, but decent.
Parker flashed on the left side, and looked less comfy on the right. He needs a year for strength … but I think he has a future.
O’Neil had some good plays and some bad ones.
Demby seems like a Guard to me but he may have had the most solid practices and games as far as consistency.
Crosby is a known quantity in my opinion and had a decent game.IL
Cole played better when working with others.
Hernandez got beat bad a couple times, but also did a skip pull (at 340) and demolished a LB.
Bozeman had a good week. Curious to see where he ends up.rest of the interior was “meh” … I think I liked the kids at the Shrine game more.

The north team came in hot and the south line, once Cappa moved inside, had no problem with them. They got through a few times, but overall, I had to readjust my POV given how average they looked. Everyone won once it seemed. But there was no consistent winner on the D line interior.Edge
Haynes had the strip sack lead to the Davenport TD, and Davenport had a couple sacks.
Andrew Brown, who is a 5 tech IMO, played 100% better than he did during the week.
Nwosu played on and off the ball and made plays in both spots … I really hope he lasts till the 4th, but I’d take him in the 3rd.
Touray is on my watch list for physical specimens who could slide.
Shaq Griffin is going to make plays for someone …ILB
deLuca, Warner, Williams, and McCray … That’s value that will be had in the 6th and 7th rounds. (at least a couple of them)

Broncos may release, not trade, Aqib Talib
The Broncos are looking to trade cornerback Aqib Talib, but that may not find any trading partners.
The problem for the Broncos is that Talib is due to make an $11 million base salary in 2018, and he turns 32 next month. Teams just don’t want to make that kind of investment in a player that age, especially a player who has the history of off-field incidents and suspensions that Talib has.
Jeff Legwold of ESPN said that he asked sources with three teams if they were interested in trading for Talib, and all three said they are not, and that they expect the Broncos to cut Talib when they can’t find any team willing to trade for him.
If Talib is on the Broncos, he’ll cost $12 million against their salary cap in 2018. He has the team’s third-biggest cap hit, behind Von Miller and Demaryius Thomas.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was named to his 11th Pro Bowl this season, while Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was participating in his first. After getting to spend time with the youngster, Brees had nothing but glowing reviews for the Rams’ second-year signal caller.
“I think a ton of him,” Brees said, per ESPN. “It was really great to be around him this week. You see what he’s such a good player and was able to have the season that he did this year. The future is so bright for a guy like that. I love his demeanor. I love his approach.”
Brees and Goff both played for the NFC squad on Sunday during the 2018 Pro Bowl, with Brees tossing the lone touchdown for his team. He finished the game 7-for-9 for 66 yards, while Goff led the team with 86 passing yards while going 10-for-18 as a passer.
Both Brees and Goff led their high-octane offensive attacks to the postseason, but by virtue of their appearance at the Pro Bowl, will not be participating in the Super Bowl.
Brees did not make his first Pro Bowl until his fourth professional season as a member of the then-San Diego Chargers. After going 0-7 as a starter as a rookie, Goff quickly flipped the script under first-year head coach Sean McVay, making his first Pro Bowl in just his second season. Goff led the league in yards per completion this past year (12.9), a category Brees has never held the top honors in.

I will do 3 mocks–post senior bowl, post combine, and pre-draft.
As I learned last year, the Rams really liked senior bowl players as they drafted 6 of them? So now knowing their love of Senior Bowl players, plus Sneads comment about keeping this momentum going, it lead me to a few conclusions (that will 100% be wrong in a couple of months)
And with any mock before FA and cuts, some assumptions have to be made. Here are mine:
1. I mostly agree that the Rams will only have money to resign their guys. There might be some mid range deals, but no blockbusters.
2. TruJo is going to test the market. I have serious doubts he comes back.
3. I have to think Barron is in serious danger of being cut. I could care less about numbers. I know what I saw. he was always in the wrong place and frankly is miscast in any version of a 3-4.
4. Watkins stays this year.
5. The Rams are serious about upgrading the TEs
6. The Rams also are going to look for a future LT.
7. NT has to be a FA or draft pick.I nailed Kupp and Johnson (1 round off on him) last year and had a LBer in the 7th round I had (Wooshing, they took Price) lets see how bad I can do this year.
Round 1: Mike Hughes – UCF – I have him as the top press corner in draft and with both NTs gone and Cbs Jackson and Ward also gone, the Rams take a 5′-11″ press corner with freakish athleticism. I think Harold Landry would have been an option if not for him measuring smaller then we all expected. Arden Key could be in play if his red flags slide him way down.
Honestly, the best thing that could happen is if a QB (at this point its Lamar Jackson) would slide so the Rams can slide down and still get their CB.
Round 3: Tyrell Crosby – Oregon – Before the Senior bowl I noted he was my #5 OT, not your typical Oregon OLman that he is nasty and strong. Like Alyo said so well, he wins ugly. Let him fight Havs for the RT spot and then slide him to the left in a year or 2. In all this winning season bliss, people forget the coaching staff moved Havenstein inside and Brown outside in camp, so its obvious they are not thrilled with what they have. Crosby fixes Rt until he slides over to LT. Its a win win IMO. Edge rusher is a serious consideration, I just think Lorenzo Carter is gone and no one else is worthy. ILBer? Not yet.
Round 4: Jeff Holland -Auburn / Uchenna Nwosu – USC – (edge) Ok so I cheated, sue me. They are both relentless pass rushers that have had really good college careers. they are both 6′-2″ 240 lbs. and frankly Alyo likes Nwosu (as I’m sure Laram) and I like Holland. They are not afraid of undersized pass rushers and i think they find a way to get Barwin resigned reasonably ( barwin wants to be here, I think the Rams like him here). OC makes a ton of sense here as well.
Round 5: Josey Jewell – ILB – Iowa – I really like how the Iowa players match Rams needs this year. Wadley @ RB, Josh Jackson at CB and Jewell @ ILB. he isn’t the most twitchy LBer or the most explosive LBer, but he really reminds me of Danny trevathon (Wade Phillips had him in Denver) I also think after watching tape this off season, the coaching staff is going to see Mark Barron out of position and / or looking the wrong way (not diagnosing) way too often. In a one gap 3-4 everyone need to be in position. (thanks B&G for all the stills and commentary on this point) I would so love to push Nick DeLuca into this spot (he was a senior bowl attendee) Other positions include TE, another CB, rush backers and a RB.
Round 6a: Durham Smythe – TE – Notre Dame – multiple reasons why he fits as of 1/27/18 – He fits a need at TE, he fits a need at blocking TE and he attended and was interviewed by the Rams. this season he caught 1 TD, in the Senior Bowl with a real QB, he caught a 27 yard TD. he checks all the boxes Higbee should have. I like Higbee, but I said he was a bonehead a couple of years ago and I still think it. Smythe, fits and makes sense.
Round 6b: Deadrin Senat – NT – USF – Rams have shown interest in him, he fits a need at NT. he’s built like a fire hydrant at 6′-1″ 320, but he gets it done. A front with Senat in the middle with Donald and Brockers with a inside backer package of Jewell (calling the defense) and Tree looks so much better for ’18.
Round 6c: Daurice Fountain – WR – UNI – Shrine game MVP gets his sot as the Rams draft another underrated FCS WR. He caught my eye against NDSU this year catching 2 TDs against them (the 1st TD of the game and 1 in garbage time) Decent size and speed for the position. Rams could need a WR if TA and Watkins are gone.
Round 7: Trayvon Henderson- S – Hawaii – Another Rams interest, could be some secondary help, had a monster 2016, not so much this year. Lets be real at this point the Rams have traded so many picks its pure magic if you ever nail a 7th rounder. RB, CB, edge, QB, OG, OC all make some sense.

As far as priority undrafted free agents, go get a RB, the class is so deep get yourself one. Get a QB for McVay and new McQbCoach. its obvious they don’t like Mannion. Get some LBers and a few interior OL that fall as well.

The game turned out different than I had expected, and I haven’t finished it yet, so know I’m slowly adjusting things as I see them …

The wide body guys I’m interested in were not here, the top picks are juniors. Besides the NC State boys Hill and Jones (who showed a ton of power), I don’t think anyone really stood out as a pure DT. I think there were a bunch of 5 techs for 3-4 defenses. Harrison Phillips was my favorite for that, but Lacouture and Hand and Andrew Brown from UVA all looked good as well, as I expected. Bilal Nichols and the Stephens kid (who broke his hand) from smaller schools both flashed and made plays, but are still likely late round players that could develop under the right tutelage. Poona Ford has strange leverage and a really quick first step, but how many 6-0 DTs can you have on one team?DE
There were only a few pure DEs… Davenport, who didn’t show very well in practice (in the game he went off, so I’ll go over that when I break down the game), Kylie Fitts, who played like his tape suggests .. strong in some areas, but not every snap. Then there were the two Ohio State kids, who I think have a good bit of power. Holmes and Lewis.Then there were the tweeners … 3-4 edge rushers …
Marquis Haynes and Okoronkwo had the best weeks, but they didn’t really talk about Haynes … I have no idea why. Haynes is now my favorite to be had in the 4th who could really be an asset. They balk because he’s only 230 … but he can bull rush as well as a 300 pounder. He put every OT he faced on skates … and that’s just his set up move. Maybe he’s just a pass rusher and can’t play the run … maybe he could be had later, btu I think his value is being severely underrated.
Okoronkwo would be worth it if he were there in the 3rd, which he might be if he gets surpassed by workout warriors. I like his set of moves and the way he played all year showed up in what I saw all week. He’s a guy that may not “wow” anyone enough to take him early, but he could have 10 sacks in a year …
Nwosu has been on my radar all year and he definitely had the most underwhelming week in comparison to my expectations. No idea why … but I’m going to have to reference what I saw this week against the tape in my memory.
Kemoko Turay is reallllly interesting. I have not seen him before, and couldn’t watch Rutgers this year because they weren’t competitive. He definitely improved during the week, and has some freaky athleticism, and an injury history. If he lasts deep into the draft (assuming his medical stuff clears) I’d be hard pressed to not take a shot at him in Wade’s D.
Surprise on D of the week was Garret Dooley from Wisconsin … underrated try hard edge rushers are their thing. He made a lot of plays and won some matchups I didn’t think he would.Then of course there’s the hero of the Senior Bowl, the one handed wonder Shaquem Griffin. I watched him this year knowing he was a baller … and he will be underdrafted at 6-1 223 … but he’s going to have a presence at the next level in the right system. He has a great inside move on the edge.
ILB
I like the Shrine game kids better … but Fred Warner showed well, especially in coverage and Tre Williams played well coming downhill. McCray was all over the place … and Nick Deluca had an amazing week as expected … as those familiar with him knew he would … how long does the small school kid last in the draft?
There’s is going to be some talent late in the draft that could start at ILB.
CBs
Underwhelmed with this group overall, and what’s worse? There was only one section of one on ones that I saw. So I didn’t get to see the footwork I wanted to up close.Kam Kelly was the biggest disappointment, grabby and slow footed.
Yiadom improved his draft stock but had some issues getting lost on interior and intermediate routes and more agile players.
King had some good moments, but I’m still skeptical.
Duke Dawson got caught in the UF mess, but played some good nickel for a bigger guy (200 lbs.)
Michael Johnson from Dubuque and Taron Johnson from Weber showed up nice. Not as much for Wade from Murray st. The safety position was okay. Just okay. Henderson (who we met with) I thought was the best, which I didn’t expect as I had Marcus Allen ranked much higher.
Nate Andrews was there, the guy who basically lost his job to Derwin James but is still talented … he may be a late round steal for a backup. Tray Matthews I didn’t see … ? Blanding played as I expected … flashed some hitting and instincts but was a tad slow.
Reaves from Southern Bama made some plays. Armani Watts kinda underwhelmed. Cooper from La Tech made a couple plays … again, a little underwhelming in the DB section this year.Chandon Sullivan had the most energy and the best play overall

One year later, Jared Goff is officially a Pro Bowler.
And he doesn’t plan on holding back Sunday in Orlando.
During a Periscope chat on Friday on the team’s official account, the Rams quarterback told fans that “throwing touchdowns” would be his aim in the NFL’s annual all-star exhibition at Camping World Stadium.
“We’re going deep,” Goff said. “I’m trying to win MVP.”
The first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft will complete his stunning one-year turnaround — which earned him the NFL Most Improved Player by the Pro Football Writers of America earlier this month — by playing in the Pro Bowl on Sunday.
“I’m enjoying my time in Orlando,” Goff told the TheRams.com this week. “I’m enjoying my experience.”
Goff was 0-7 as a starter as a rookie in 2016, but rebounded in his second season under head coach Sean McVay, throwing for 28 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.
The Rams threw the fewest interceptions in football along the way to the NFC West title and their first playoff berth since 2004.
Goff completed 296 of 477 passes for 3,804 yards and a 100.5 passer rating, the fourth highest figure in franchise history. He threw for 7.49 yards per competition, which was third in the NFL.
“I’m fortunate to have such a successful year this year with all these guys and I get to enjoy it here,” Goff said.
Originally named an alternate to the roster, Goff filled the spot vacated by injured Philadelphia quarterback Carson Wentz.
He is one of six Rams at the Pro Bowl, joining running back Todd Gurley, offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth, punter Johnny Hekker, long snapper Jake McQuaide and kickoff returner Pharoh Cooper. Teammates Aaron Donald and Greg Zuerlein were also selected, but are not taking part because of injuries.
Goff performed well in the Precision Passing competition in the Pro Bowl Skills Challenge this week, hitting the three toughest targets on the course before being edged out for the title by Oakland’s Derek Carr.
Goff said he is spending a lot of time with fellow NFL quarterbacks Drew Brees and Russell Wilson, hoping to soak up knowledge from a pair of Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks.
“Getting a chance to hang out with Drew and Russell a lot is fun,” Goff said. “They both have gotten to the pinnacle, winning Super Bowls, so I’m asking them as many questions as possible.”
Goff answered questions about his favorite throw this season (the deep ball to Robert Woods in the playoff loss to Atlanta) and favorite place to eat in Los Angeles (Q Suishi in Westlake Village), before being asked about his goals going forward.
“Just to keep building on what we’ve done,” Goff said. “I think we’ve set a standard for ourselves and for the rest of the league about how go to work every day and really go out and try to win a championship every year.”

The Rams have three capable tight ends in Tyler Higbee, Gerald Everett and Derek Carrier, but none of them were particularly great in a specific area this past season. Higbee is a willing and consistent blocker, while Everett doesn’t offer much in that department. Carrier is a decent No. 3 tight end, but he may not be on the team in 2018.
All that considered, the Rams seem to be very interested in the tight end position this offseason. They met with at least three of the tight ends at the Senior Bowl in Mobile this past week, which is pretty telling of how they feel currently about the position:

Durham Smythe, TE, Notre Dame
Ian Thomas, TE, IndianaEverett and Higbee aren’t in danger of being cut as both are under contract through at least 2019, but Sean McVay said this offseason that the Rams need more out of their tight ends so they can avoid getting stuck in 11 personnel with three receivers on the field.
It’s highly unlikely they’ll spend a top pick on one in the draft, but selecting a tight end in the mid-to-late rounds is certainly a strong possibility.

znModeratorznModeratorAt no 5 down there, the WYNN kid looks intriguing to me.
Because he is shorter and doesn’t have ideal length, some sources think that Wynn could move to guard or center in the NFL. Wynn started at left guard in 2016, but scouts think he is athletic enough to also play center. Wynn’s size and skill set has drawn comparisons to Kelvin Beachum, who is undersized but has managed to carve out a career at left tackle in the NFL. Wynn is just a natural football player who finds a way to get the job done, thus he might end up sticking at left tackle.
The difference is, Wynn could be taken high as a guard (most likely) or center (less likely). So, I figure someone who intends him as a guard would cut in on the early rounds. Beachum, in contrast, was taken in the 7th round of the 2012 draft by the Steelers (he now plays for the Jets). So in the case of Beachum, it was a developmental project player who paid off. In fact Beachum was one of the guys who turned up when I searched for starting left tackles taken after the 2nd round from 2006-2015. There were 122 OTs drafted in that time frame and only 6 ended up being established NFL starters (and not just injury fill-ins).
Short version: I doubt anyone takes Wynn just to be a left OT. Height matters for left OTs so I bet short ones are as rare as qbs under 5’11 if not under 6′. Taking him as a left oT would be so iffy and experimental that chances are no one does it with a high pick, and in the meanwhile some team or another would take him, you assume, as a guard long before he reaches the lower rounds of the draft, where taking a project like that would be okay.
Well that wasn’t that much shorter I guess…

Blinkscout Senior Bowl Practice Offense summary …
The North team is heavily stacked in my opinion … I’ll be surprised if the game isn’t one sided. Also, we’ll learn a LOT if the game isn’t one sided. And it’s not just about the QBs.
Winner of the week for me was OT Toth form Army … I would honestly have him in round 1 contention given what I’ve seen. He outplayed Bryan O Neil. Flat out. In fact O Neil had a rough week getting beat inside.
I had a ton of fun watching Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield put on a show. They may honestly both end up being top 5 picks … and the energy and enthusiasm coming off Mayfield reminds me of Brees, and no that’s not a height thing. I thought he was going to break his hand slapping helmets.
The next level down for me seemed pretty close to the QBs in the other all star games … upper level backups with starter potential. Benkert had been my sleeper since mid season but I also liked White from WKY.
Daeshon Hamilton made a ton of money. His feet and route running were plus. He could sneak into round 2 … need to see his numbers at the combine.
Allen Lazard made money in the red zone and 3rd down sections. I liked him last year and coming into this year I wanted to see him stay consistent and make more plays, and he did. He’s not fast, but he’s simply never covered. Courtland Sutton and Simmie Cobbs are maybe a hair above him when the ball is in the air. He may run a 4.65 … but it doesn’t matter.
Michael Gallup was just behind Hamilton n the “getting open” department … and I love him as a prospect that will likely slide.
If J’Mon Moore could be had late he’d be a steal.
The OKst. WRs Washington and Ateman were slightly underwhelming. I expected more. But my focus was high … also? I think both of them play better during games.
Gesicki and Fumagali were only a shade better than Smythe and will be drafted way higher. I’d have a hard time letting Smythe get too far down … if he made the 6th I’d have to take him. The kid Ian Thomas really caught my eye … I had been focusing on Simmie Cobbs and the O line during those games and seem to have missed him.
Ballage and Samuels are weapons in the passing game … and I cannot believe how evaluators are speaking about them. Samuels may actually be the second coming of Boldin (literally the only RB on the Belitnikoff semi final list)… and Ballage is getting dinged for production …
Given how 3rd down receiving backs have changed games this past year I’m surprised that these guys are being projected 5th and later. Darrell Williams is also a guy that has been an LSU backup ala Alfred Blue/Spencer Ware who has talent but not a lot of carries .. he seems to catch okay out of the backfield too. Ito Smith did much better in pass pro than I would have thought for his size.The OTs were really interesting. These guys made money in my opinion. Crosby won some and lost some (generally wins kinda ugly) … O’Neil didn’t show as well as I thought he would … but was noticeably less comfortable on the right side in my opinion.
Noteboom showed what I had figured … some issues with power and quickness but also good feet and physicality, lets guys get up under his pads a bit too much. probably a backup that could develop over time.
The small school kids besides Toth, who I already mentioned, Cappa, Parker, and Demby, all really played above their D2 and D3 listings. Parker is really long. Needs a redshirt year in my opinion to balance his strength, but his ceiling is really high. Cappa is the meanest O lineman I’ve seen in years. Mayock actually outlined a signature move he has … he gets into a player’s pads at different levels and basically throws him into a cartwheel by jacking him off the ground and throwing him down in one motion. I didn’t think he’d be able to do it with this competition, but he got a couple of the smaller guys. He oversets sometimes, but that can be fixed with coaching … I’d be really interested if he was there in the 4th, and he may last till the 6th, who knows.
Demby looks like more of a guard with good feet and quickness, lacks a little length, but is likely to be a great swiss army knife backup.The interior guys were pretty stout, and even against some really powerful DTs …

I hadn’t seen Hernandez against stiff competition. He’s a little grabby but a beast of a guy that can move pretty well.
Cole got beat a lot, he played OT all year so his footwork seemed off. If he slides he could be a great steal … assuming his footwork can be re-trained.
Corbett had a decent week playing all over the line … looks like in interior and ORT backup … I like him at center but he doesn’t get his hands up quick enough yet.
Sean Walsh got overpowered pretty consistently.
Bozeman looked really good … may go higher than expected. Golson got beat by power and looked a little startled at times with the one on ones. -
