wvParticipanti was conflicted about posting this. but hey. i’m in too deep as it is. several more feet won’t matter much.
Well, I’m glad you posted it.
…I’m just wondering what the world would be like, if we dismantled capitalism,
and we stopped keeping score in sports. 🙂w
v
wvParticipantIt would be nice if my brain could dis-associate the team i follow,
from the billionaires, and capitalist crimes of the corporate world.w

wvParticipantThought this lady had an interesting take on the subject
wvParticipant111 wins, 100 losses. Thats in the Jeff Fisher zone, isn’t it? 🙂

wvParticipantRams need a QB for the future. I assume they arent going to get a chance to pick Tyler Shough, but I like his potential. He probly wont drop further than mid-2nd round or so, though.
Would be fun to see what Mcvay would do with the great running qb, Jalen Milroe. I think he runs a 4.3 or somethin like that. Lamar Jackson type.

wvParticipant“I think secretly they have faith in Jimmy Garoppolo,” a third exec said. “You don’t mess around with your starting quarterback unless you are confident in the other guy.”
=========Um….no.
w

wvParticipantVermeil though did build a team from nuthin. So I don’t know who I put at #1/#2.
Martz was a figurehead; I’ve always said it.
w
v
wvParticipantWe’ve probably had this conversation, but McVay is my #1 all-time head coach.
Vermeil #2, although his short tenure could drop him in some people’s books, I think.
Knox I and Robinson, tied for 3rd.
George Allen may get Honorable Mention, but I was just a damn kid back then.McVay has an advantage, I’d say, because of Snead and Kronke.
I think DV had it a little tougher.Having said that, I’d say DV built the best Ram team in the modern era. The Faulk trade was just ridiculous.
w
v
wvParticipantOne of the things McVay has had to deal with more than any coach i can remember, is, the coach-poaching. Man, he has had to replace half his coaches every damn year.
And that says a lot about what the NFL thinks of McVay.

wvParticipantI thought Corum was a bit of a disappointment. I dunno. Didnt show me much.

wvParticipantWhat were the defensive rankings in AD’s last year, compared to the young DLine last year?
Run as well as pass stats, etc. Just curious.w

wvParticipantI dunno what they need, but I’m ALWAYS worried about the OLine. Havenstein is old. He’s got to break down soon. They jettisoned J.Jackson the Guard. I kinda sorta suspect they dont have ‘quite’ the roster to march through a Super Bowl run next season. I suspect they will be a player or two short.
Unless they pull off some sort of Von Miller / OBJ type deal during the season.

wvParticipantShe does the Rams at 3:50 in.
wvParticipantI think they wanted Adams because he complements Nacua better than Kupp, plus Kupp missed 19 games in the last 3 seasons…
The injuries were what tipped the scales, i would guess. And aside from the 19 he missed some of the other games he was playing gimpy.
One of my alltime favorite Rams.
Also had one of the Rams alltime great plays. The 4th down run. Its up there with the Ricky Proehl catch.
Wish he’d signed with an AFC team, though. Sigh.

wvParticipant
wvParticipantDoes any of that change if another team signs kupp?
And if Kupp signs with the 49ers can felony charges be filed?
w
v
wvParticipantI think that’s all basically true, with this one caveat. Garagepollo is not clutch. He may even be anti-clutch. He is at the very least, unclutch. He can get you through a game plan and even be very efficient doing it. But give him the ball with 2 minutes to go down by 3, and his heart turns to ungelled pudding. It’s the opposite of Stafford. Recently Dotson said of Stafford that in the clutch moments of a game, even his eyes are different. He zones in.
The Los Angeles Rams dont NEED a ‘clutch’ QB. They will be ahead by 50 points by the third quarter in every game.
Maybe YOU should stop flaming.
w
v
wvParticipantI think one of the most important decisions was to resign Jimmy-G.
JG may very well be the best no.2 QB in the NFL. Ya know.
If Stafford goes down we will not be subjected to one of McVay’s silly young project-QBs.

wvParticipantRams Bros.@RamsBrothers
So, the 49ers:• Traded Deebo Samuel (Commanders), and released Kyle Juszczyk
• Lost the following in Free Agency: Aaron Banks (Packers), Charvarius Ward (Colts), Talanoa Hufanga (Broncos), Dre Greenlaw (Broncos), Jaylon Moore (Chiefs), Elijah Mitchell (Chiefs), Josh Dobbs (Patriots)Must suck to start a rebuild without a ring to look back on…
It’s kind of sad. I hope for the 49ers’ sake that at least they over-commit and overpay Brock Purdy, and he turns into David Carr.
McVay has a real chance to sweep Shannahan again.
I am in favor of that.
w
vMarch 11, 2025 at 8:13 am in reply to: why Davonte Adams is good…update, must read: Matt Bowen on Adams #155424
wvParticipantMina Kimes liked the Davante signing, and she noted the rams pass offense was “7th in EPA versus zone, but 22nd versus Man…”
I dunno what epa means but i know the difference between 7 and 22.

wvParticipanthttps://boltbeat.com/chargers-lose-extremely-important-free-agent-poona-ford-rams
“…LA Chargers fans weren’t asking for much this offseason. After a successful 2024 campaign, fans just wanted the Chargers to use their ample cap space wisely to bring back impact players and make external additions that make sense. As one of the most impactful Chargers free agents this offseason, fans desperately wanted defensive tackle Poona Ford to return to the team. With plenty of cap space, it seemed like a no-brainer that Ford would be back in Los Angeles….”
wvParticipantSo do the Rams have cap room this year? Seems like they havent had much cap space since the Super Bowl year.
w
v
wvParticipantWell, shit. Aaron Rogers would have looked good in horns.
w

Here ya go.

The #Rams have given permission to G Jonah Jackson to seek a trade, per @JFowlerESPN. LA signed the former Lions Pro Bowler to a 3-year, $51M contract last offseason.WHAT is McSnead up to this year?
w
v
wvParticipant“.. holding the No. 26 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
However, they currently do not have a 2025 second-round pick after trading theirs to the Panthers..”
—Yeah, I would think they will at least ‘try’ to trade back. I doubt anyone is available at 26 who would be a game-changer.
Fascinating time. Everything starts with the Stafford decision. Imagine, starting next season without Stafford and Kupp.
