PA RamParticipantThe Rams defense seems so together right now. They seem to be on the same page. One of the biggest things that’s happening IMO is that the secondary is making things very difficult for the opposing QBs to find people and that little extra time give the d-line that extra second to put on pressure.
Cards are going to have to face that and it won’t be easy for them.
However, if the Rams offense comes out like the Keystone Cops and puts the defense in a bind, it could be a problem.
Still, I like the Rams in this game. I’m not going to get carried away yet–they’ve beaten two pretty bad football teams but they beat them like they SHOULD have beat them. Arizona is a step up. It will be a battle.
GZ needs to find his swing.
But I think the Rams win the battle.

vActually means the Rams are officially out of playoffs
While I have no expectation the Rams can make the playoffs they are not officially eliminated yet.
All the sites show them as “in the hunt”.

PA RamParticipantYou never know about these things, wv.
We see an image and somehow we relate these human beings to that image. But the reality is often very different.
I suppose there are a lot of dark secrets in Hollywood and most you’ll never know about.

PA RamParticipantFirst of all, let me say to “sdram” that I am so sorry to hear that about your son–I did not know that but your courage to move forward and put your other children above your grief is very admirable. You never know what’s around life’s next corner and for parents who have to deal with these tragedies, my heart goes out to them. I can’t begin to imagine that hell.
TSRF, I think it’s understandable how affected you were by this tragedy in your hometown. Whenever I hear about these things I feel affected. Any parent who does not feel this on a personal level in some way is someone I can’t relate to, and I can’t imagine there are many out there who aren’t affected.
There is no bond in life greater than a parent for their child(I understand that sadly, that’s not always the case) but when I hear of these tragedies I have to hug my children a little tighter(funny I still say children–my kids are grown-ups but they’re always going to be my KIDS).
It’s easy to personalize these events at some level and I can only imagine that the closer you are to an event the easier that is.
My daughter works about 40 minutes from our house and the drive there isn’t the greatest or safest road. Fortunately most days she stays with her friends near where she works and it’s an easy 10 minute drive but sometimes she comes home and makes the drive.
The other day there was a nine car accident. A tractor trailer driver fell asleep and basically his truck rammed through cars like a bowling ball through pins. Two people died–one a boy, my daughter’s age, on his way to work. My daughter was with her friends and not driving up that day but if she had been driving she would have been around the accident scene at the time it happened.
Terrifying.
I’m still thinking about that.
As parents there is so much out of our control. But we want our kids safe more than anything.
It’s tough.
Hang in there, TSRF. I wish you well and hope that you can find some way to deal with this and “sdram” had great advice.
I wish you the best.

December 4, 2014 at 10:34 am in reply to: controversy: a few fans dropping the Rams because of the WRs's Ferguson gesture #12983PA RamParticipantI can’t believe this has become the big deal that it has, frankly.
People will view it through whatever lens they happen to be using and either blow it up or dismiss it as harmless or praise them for doing it. They didn’t come out with nazi salutes.
I just can’t imagine some of the reaction.
I also believe if Roorda had not said anything this would have been almost unnoticed.
It’s a shame this has overshadowed the win against the Raiders and I can only hope it doesn’t prove a distraction against Washington.
Boycotting the team? Rams bars becoming Chiefs bars?
The things that get people rolling into some sort of action amaze me while things that should concern them get yawns.
Personally, I could care less if the whole team comes out with their hands up this week. Actually, that might be fun to see–a big F-U to it all.
By the way–the best line on this comes from Stephen Colbert when he talked about the Rams coming up with their hands up.
“Why are they surrendering to the Raiders?”
I liked it.

PA RamParticipantHe was a great draft pick.
But to me the steal of their draft was E.J. Gaines. To get that guy in the 6th round was incredible.
This was pretty good draft for the team.
Donald, Gaines and Mason have been outstanding.
Robinson is coming along.
No complaints.

They obviously had very strong feelings on the subject.
So how do the Rams disconnect from the real world?
They happen to be at ground zero for this. The players obviously had strong feelings as well.
If Fisher disciplines the players than other Rams fans from the other side walk away.
No win situation.
The Rams may not have wanted to find themselves here, but they are.
So you don’t buy a Stedman Bailey shirt. Fisher didn’t even know they were doing it.
The whole team didn’t walk out with their hands up.
But if that’s what they gotta do–if they feel that strongly, okay. Quit the Rams. Quit football. Quit sports.
Quit the news covering an angle to the story they don’t want to hear.
Quit any films or movies dealing with it from a sympathetic angle opposite of their own.
Quit it all.
It won’t change anything. But if they feel they’ve made a point–so be it.
I’m staying.
I want to be here when this team is winning their next Superbowl–or at least making the playoffs.
Maybe I just don’t have those strong feelings–I’m not a cop but I can’t imagine how difficult their job is. I don’t envy them at all. But like good and peaceful protestors and idiots who only want to loot stores, there are good cops and bad ones(and by bad they could just be very inept).
I’ve never been black. I can’t imagine the black experience.
I just don’t know about it all.
If people want to walk away, from either side–they’ll do it.
Life goes on.
Football goes on–without them.

No a couple of them were recognizable diehard longterm fans. I am only saying that because that’s what I saw…I’m not judging either way. My purpose in this thread is to stay as neutral as possible. So I won’t say anything about it either way.
I don’t want to get into names…it’s beside the point, really.
Yeah–I haven’t really seen who it is(I haven’t seen it on this board, as far as I know)but I just find it hard to believe that a true diehard fan would suddenly just walk away over that gesture of–what–five players? But I guess that if they have feelings that strong it’s possible. I’m still surprised about that sort of reaction.

I saw most of the first half before a neighbor knocked on my door to inform me that black smoke was coming out of my chimney. Had to call the heating people and pretty much lost the game after that. Everything is good now but I MISSED most of the fun!!!
Anyway–wow! That was great.
The Raiders will get the #1 pick this year. I wonder who they’ll take.
The Rams have a shot at a winning record and certainly to get to .500.
Maybe next year is the year they stay healthy and things click.

I had a nice day as well. My wife often works Thanksgiving but this year she was off so it was cool that we could all stick around the whole day.
My family has different schedules so we mostly see each other in passing so to be able to spend time with my wife, son and daughter is a great thing.

@SeifertESPN crew was clueless. They originally took ball all the way back to where Austin caught it though official dropped hat near 40.

The last play sucked.
Throw the ball to the corners or run it. Don’t even consider it an option to put the ball in the middle. Things bounce around in there–bad things happen–defenders are hidden. Didn’t like it. You did not HAVE to get the T.D. there.
Bad call. Poorly executed.
