Vegas has the Rams as 3 to 3.5 point favorites as of this writing. When was the last time they were favored over a winning team?
I think the Cards are in for a world of hurt.
nittany ramModeratorKeep Barksdale, Britt, Kendricks and Harkey, sign Wisnewski, draft QB, LB, OL, win Super Bowl.
Eezee Peezee.

The question remains, is this too political a subject to be on the football forum?
As you know, this community has gone back and forth on that.
Well, even though it’s imcredibly controverial it is a football topic. So in that sense it should be fair game here. But I also know what has happened on past boards when things got political so…
I dunno. I’ll be fine with it if you move it to the public forum.nittany ramModeratorIt’s just to me this should be a non issue.

I dunno. Bringing back Hekker
is bound to cause a QB-controversy.w
vHekker + Bradford + Hill + Davis = an embarrassment of riches.

less “up the gut” plays for Tavon

December 3, 2014 at 4:18 pm in reply to: Rams qb sack percentage… Rams defensive sack percentage #12929nittany ramModeratorYou show the Rams going sack less against the Cardinals but they recorded three sacks that game. I think all of them were on Palmer. Remember it was
Barron’s sack that ended Palmer’s season.nittany ramModeratorIt seems like you see more and more great one-handed catches now than in years past. I bet it has to do with the gloves – better gripping technology.

Blacks are twice as likely as whites to be shot by police.

nittany ramModeratorMike Fanning sacks Stabler which ends any realistic hope the Raiders had to win and he just nonchalantly walks back to the huddle?
Strange era these 70’s…
nittany ramModeratorAlthough not a victory, I think an honorable mention should go to the 24 – 24 tie in San Fran in 2012. Besides, only the score says it was a tie. Anyone who watched the game would tell you the Rams won.
This game served notice to the rest of the NFC West that the Rams would no longer be out-physicaled by their opponents. It also established my favorite attribute about the Rams under Fisher. Don’t ever count them out, because when you assume they are dead and lean over their apparently lifeless body they will smack you in the face. The Rams had lost three in a row coming into that game and had no business thinking they could hang with the best team in the NFC in their house. But from the opening drive to the disappointing finish in OT the Rams out-hit and outhustled the 9’ers. SJax was a beast and they should have erected a statue of Danny Amendola after that game.
Of course, the following week the Rams established another pattern under Fisher…inconsistency. They got hammered by the hapless Jets in the ED.
nittany ramModeratorIf anyone wants to move this post to the other board–feel free.
I didn’t post it to start any controversy over the name. People have different opinions on that–I get it. I just thought it was a very odd looking Thanksgiving tweet. There is a certain cluelessness about it. But maybe not everyone feels that way. Maybe it’s how I look at it.
Fair enough.
No, it’s not you. It’s really awkward. Poor taste bordering on offensive, IMO.

Everyone have a good thanksgiving.
Sorry to hear about your sister. Best wishes to you and yours. I hope you get to sit down to some tender and delicious avian dinosaur at some point this holiday.
nittany ramModeratorThey’d be 2-9. Those three clowns would really fuck things up.

My expectations aren’t high.
nittany ramModeratorAwesome! I’ve only been to one game where Rams fans out-numbered the opponent’s fans and that was at the original Herdfest – a home game for the Rams. I have to say it’s much more enjoyable to watch a game that way for obvious reasons. It was cool to see there were so many Rams fans at the San Diego game.
November 23, 2014 at 8:15 pm in reply to: Rams can't overcome their own mistakes… (Chargers game reactions thread) #12399nittany ramModeratorI think the Chargers OC called a good game. He knew how to take advantage of the Rams aggressiveness and blitzing by countering with screens and draws.
nittany ramModeratorYes it is as you and TD say. He was released Oct 30th. I learned this through the dark and arcane art of “looking it up”.
This “looking it up” you speak of…do all of your people possess such lore?
Your ways are strange to us, Portlander.

Are you sure? I looked through transactions and saw Gilbert signed to the PS, but didn’t see a transaction where he was dropped. Not that it matters much either way. Gilbert, I mean.I went to the Rams website, looked at the roster, and Gilbert is not on the PS. When he was released I don’t know.
Yeah, I remember seeing a tweet or something that said Gilbert had been released. I’m not sure exactly when but it wasn’t that long ago.
nittany ramModeratorObviously no playoffs this year. I think we’re probably looking at 8-8, gentlemen.
One game the Rams could point to as their “superbowl” would be the Seattle game. How cool would it be to sweep the Superbowl champs?
Especially if the Seahawks need a win in that game to make the playoffs.
I want them to make Pete Carroll cry.
nittany ramModeratorMcLeod was flagged for unnecessary roughness during the game, but the apparent lack of a fine was the league’s way of saying it was a clean hit.
Penalties should be reviewable. Bad calls can have too much effect on the outcome of a game.
nittany ramModeratorPatterson would have been the better choice.
nittany ramModeratorI think Fisher gets one more year, no matter what happens the remainder of this season.

That second gif shows Hill against a blitz. The safety walks up to the line to make it look like he’s blitzing, At the snap of the ball the safety drops back into coverage but all three LB’s blitz. That makes a total of seven pass rushers. Hill calmly and quickly reads the all-out blitz and hits the hot receiver in single coverage across the middle before the safety can help.I don’t want to make too much of this (it was only one play) but this is an example of a QB reading the blitz while keeping his eyes downfield and knowing where he’d have single coverage and making a decisive throw. If he had hesitated the safety coming to help would have broken up the pass or he would have been sacked. In other words, Hill did just the opposite of what Davis has been doing against the blitz. Davis never seemed to anticipate the blitz and instead of finding his hot receiver he would hold the ball and/or try to bail out of the pocket. The entire time his eyes would be on the pass rush instead of looking downfield.
Again, it’s only one play but it’s lightyears away from what we’ve been seeing with Davis.
One wonders how it is
that Davis did so well
his first few games.
I mean, surely teams were
blitzing the youngster in those games.w
vThe Rams could run the ball in their first few games. That’s why Davis did so well. Play action was working. When they started playing better defenses and they couldn’t run anymore, defenses could exploit Davis’ weaknesses, which is specifically, an inability to stand in the pocket and read a defense, especially when he’s hurried by a blitz.

You compare the greatest WR in Rams history to a particularly nasty type of fart?!
You really do hate the Rams, don’t you.
