not extremely impressed. the defense put the offense in some really good positions. felt like the offense should have scored more…

stafford putting up impressive numbers on the season. but still want to see him do it against quality competition.

what i wanna know is what happened to burgess? i thought for sure he’d take one of the safety spots and play a little nickel.

or is he playing more these days? and i’m just not seeing him?

well. at first i was disappointed. but comparing him to the rest of the field. he still ranks third in qb rating. he ranks first in total qbr. he also ranks fourth in ypa.

football outsiders ranks him third although it’s possible he moves up after factoring prescott’s last game.

still a long way to go but not bad.

well. i don’t pretend to know whether obj is a malcontent or not. i do know his teammates have said only positive things about him. i know guys like ramsey and miller have vouched for him.

my guess is obj’s problem was with the coaching staff and the system. well. hopefully the mcvay offense is a better fit. he’ll be seeing the touches for sure. and i’ve never heard anything negative regarding his work ethic.

if this works out. and i don’t think it’s a reach to think that it could work here. could this offense be harder to defend? i love robert, but does he demand double teams like obj potentially would?

i just hope jefferson can step up. the rams need him to step up. regardless of how good obj could be.

i would not have him as a punt returner. not with woods down.

and regarding his 40 time. that’s not as important as his agility drills. short shuttle 3.94. three cone 6.69. those numbers rival kupp’s. and then his body control. that’s what makes him special. but how much of his agility has been robbed by injuries? i hope not too much. talent wise it’s not even close. he’s on another level compared to woods. but it’s the intangibles with woods. he’s on a level that few reach in my opinion. he flourished with mcvay. i’m hoping obj can resurrect his career here.

tyler higbee becomes more important now too. man i wish they had a second tight end. mundt going down was a big blow.

well. it’s on obj now. wow. what a loss. makes me sick.

but i gotta trust what ramsey and miller say about obj. if they have respect for him, that says a lot to me. and now he’s got a chance to play in a dynamic offense. with a good qb. and with good players around him. i’ll be cheering him on. and i’m sure robert woods will be right there cheering him on the hardest. i’m sure robert will be in meetings, in film sessions… prepping odell and coop and van and all those receivers to be their best. they may lose him on the field, but his presence will be there.

I have to change my mind. I* am really glad we signed OBJ. You blew it, DeSean.

well. if i wasn’t so sad for robert i’d be laughing.

this is just horrible. hope obj is ready cuz the rams really need him now.

also. at 29 obj is not old for a receiver. many a receiver still had peak years at age 29. only difference is obj is coming off an acl injury.

best case scenario you have three starting caliber receivers lining up capable of playing multiple positions and threatening every part of the field. and then you add van jefferson in 4 wr sets.

one thing i didn’t realize and maybe i missed it here on this thread. but obj had the most targets of any receiver on the browns. which i think is both bad and good.

van jefferson on the season is getting 5.1 targets a game. obj is getting 5.7 targets a game. vj is catching 58.7% of those targets while obj is catching 50% of those targets. obj has to get that catch percentage up.

I’ll take OBJ over VJ any day.

well just reading around, jefferson is supposed to be a very good run blocker. and in this system receivers are expected to block. but i did find this clip of obj laying down a hellish block on a linebacker.

    https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/video/odell-beckham-jr-lays-the-hammer-down-for-amazing-block

and in this article, the coaches talk about his blocking and drawing coverages. so maybe they don’t lose much with obj in there in the blocking department.

Odell Beckham Jr. wants the ball, but he wants a championship even more and is proving it by blocking and being a decoy

The play in which Beckham drew triple coverage and Higgins was left wide open for a 7-yard touchdown in the second quarter encapsulates the last couple of games for Beckham. He didn’t catch as many passes as anyone would like but still made an impact.

“I know the production hasn’t been there for him, and I’m not worried about that. I do think it will come. But it’s the other stuff that he does really, and in the run game, I know it’s not sexy, but he was really effective. He really came down and really put the wood to a couple of those safeties in the game.”

what would really excite me is if cam akers comes back which is a possibility for the playoffs. not sure how effective he’d be though. short-term or long-term.

i don’t dislike him. but where are his touches going to come from? not cooper. not robert. and he certainly doesn’t block like those two. van? i assume that he’s a willing blocker. is obj willing to block? i would think that’s what it would take to get touches on van. i don’t know. i’m a little skeptical about how he will fit in.

Seems like the Titans are always a physical, punishing, team.
And now they will rally around domestic-abuser Adrian Peterson.

I dont like it. Not sure the rams are tough enough for this.
    We’ll see.

He might not play against the Titans though.

game time decision. but if not this week then surely next week.

not only do they have great talent on this team. but they seem to have great character as well. jones and miller both come across as standout people.

just so excited. what a season so far.

i’m so excited to see von miller in this defense. so excited.

i haven’t been this excited since quinn and donald were playing together. and back then i don’t think they had a cornerback the caliber of ramsey. plus they have floyd.

and not only that jones looked really good last week. hopefully, he gets more comfortable and gets even better as the season goes on. plus i worry less about him getting tired at the end of the season since he will essentially have rested the first seven games.

and some people are overlooking the fact that gaines is quietly having a very good season.

the only thing that would make me happier is if bobby brown iii really came on in the second half of the season and into the playoffs. physically that guy has it all.

    so excited.

Von is a force multiplier for both Floyd and Donald

yeah. wow. donald will make miller better. but for the first time in a long time, donald has someone who could actually make him better as well. depending on how miller plays in the second half of the season i really would like to see him sign a 2-3 year deal with the rams. that could be one helluva front seven for the next couple years.

I remember getting all excited when I heard Suh was gonna be on the line
with Donald. That one was disappointing. Never really lived up to
    the expectations.

well. hopefully, this one works out. although with suh, the rams did get to the superbowl. just need this to get the rams one step further.

    Assuming he has something left

miller is a hall of fame caliber edge rusher, and there are plenty of examples of edge rushers who had productive season well into their 30s.

    kevin greene
    terrell suggs
    demarcus ware

there are other examples i’m sure. it doesn’t mean that the same will be true of miller. but it’s far from impossible.

    so we can hope.

3-point pressure is not a good thing if you are an OC.

this is just very exciting. very unexpected. and very exciting.

I wanted to see how the Rams could handle a first class running back.

he would have punished the rams. i mean steven jackson type size. possible better talent wise. titans were running him into the ground though. not fair to him.

    ummm… hehehehehe… uhhhhhhhhhhhhh…

i hope he’s got something left in the tank. he very possibly could. he’s got 4.5 sacks midway through the season. his second half could be much better.

and ya know… reggie white signed with the packers his age 32 season. and had some pretty freaking good seasons after that. so he’s not necessarily done.

this season just got a lot more interesting.

ya know. the chargers defense is allowing only 3 or 4 yards less per game than the rams defense. not only that but the rams defense is actually allowing less points per game than the chargers defense. talent wise i don’t know how they compare.

but hopefully this defense continues to improve as the season goes on. maybe they even make a last second trade to add some more talent on that side.

lastly. kupp. what a player. i’ll say it again. my favorite receiver since rev ike.

Jones might be the real deal.

if we were confused at first by the young trade…

the texans are a bad team, so there’s a long way to go. but a pretty good start for jones.

i don’t think it’s too late for stafford and the hall of fame. depends on how much longer he can play. would also help if he could win something in the playoffs.

personally i hope he can play at least 8 years with the rams at a high level.

the one about akers is really good. especially when she goes in depth about the “shield” play. also didn’t realize that akers might be back for the playoffs. although i don’t know how smart that would be. depends on how severe the injury was though.
