Wore my KW jersey yesterday. Cool they honored all the MVPs in pre game. Kurt would be in now if it were not for that bum pinky finger. Laff.

It is a shame he couldn’t discover that thing called a glove as a Rams player.

“..it left a stadium saddled with about $144 million in debt and maintenance costs. Taxpayers will now shoulder the remaining payments for the Edward Jones Dome with only the help of revenue from tractor pulls…”

    As per usual, the corporate-wheeler-dealers
make the deals, and the People, have to pay
    in the end.

In a just system, that there little game would
    be Illegal.

    w
    v

The state and local elected officials have to be either complicit in the poor deal making, or are blind to the real benefits and costs of stadium construction and maintenance. I don’t know the history of the Jones Dome deal other than what I have read here and in a few other articles, but it seems to me that the elected leadership in St. Louis who approved the deal did not do their homework and let the people down.

One explanation that really resonated with me was in an article which described the St. Louis representatives as being “star-struck” when they met up with all the NFL people. The glamour of the whole experience for them overwhelmed their reason, basically, like a 17-year old girl meeting a rock star.

They didn’t do their math. Or any of their other homework. And they agreed to the worst contract ever between a city and a team. That’s it.

Putting aside the star struck crap that I don’t believe, the ignorance of the revenue streams I do believe and most of all the desperation of the St. Louis negotiators was evident. They had a new and empty dome that they needed to start paying off. They were charged with landing the Rams most of all since the political repercussions would be dire. They were not to return without the Rams. Shaw knew it and took full advantage.

I read each pic. Didn’t see anything about the Rams other than the mention on the St. Louis Cardinals page that they might move to LA.

Yeah so they meant the St. Louis Rams, not St. Louis Cardinals. The bit you mention where they say the Rams are moving to LA—that’s the bit I was talking about. Notice they also later discuss the Arizona Cardinals as a separate entry. So when they said St. Louis Cardinals, clearly, they meant the Rams.

They had it correct in that if Bill DeWitt owned the NFL team in St. Louis it would always be a contender.

No Rams and no team in LA. Though I can believe the St. Louis Cardinals except the celebrity fan should be Jon Hamm.

That’s just the title. They go on to discuss the Rams in the description.

No question the Patriots cheated to steal XXXVI and the officials helped them too. No other reason for Goodell to destroy those tapes except they cheated to win their other Super Bowls too.

where i disagree with him is saying that it was in preparation for a move. even if they were staying in st. louis i think fisher would have had the same approach.

Why disagree when the front office efforts towards marketing the team to the season tix holders and local fans was so abysmal? The fix was in for the move to LA simply because StanK tried to drive business away in ’15 and money is mothers-milk to StanK.

I don’t know if it’s a slam so much. He doesn’t seem to be admonishing the Rams. He’s just putting two and two together.

I’d read this as a slam,

“Rams general manager Les Snead told the Los Angeles Times while down at the Senior Bowl looking for the next Isaiah Pead and Brian Quick.”

    Ouch.

Why would Donald tackle Gurley? Both are in the NFC. I agree the game is stupid but it makes money for someone.

The teams aren’t based on NFC and AFC anymore. The players play for either Jerry Rice or Michael Irvin. They determine their own rosters. That means two players from one NFL team can face each other in the Probowl.

Its even more stupid than before. Why would the Rams even agree to let that be possible? Why would anyone watch? Rice vs. Irvin? Who cares?
