If Trump were a true leader he would be out there today rejecting the KKK and the white power movement creeping into the high schools.
I suspect that won’t happen.
Trump is a true leader since despite all the power of the establishment brought to bear against him for the past 17 months his vision lead him to the White House. What has been creeping into the schools is leftist defeatism, dependency and entitlement which will be purged from schools in the vast red regions of this nations election map when education is brought back to the states.

I think everyone should just – stand back – and marvel at the sheer awesomeness of that statement.

bnwBlockedI’m sure Donald would agree with him, because I’m sure he has run several if not all his companies in like manner. Agree?
I don’t know about all that.
You think his business model dictates that his employees resign if they support a certain candidate? There was a time when that stuff happened. In 1937 my maternal grandfather came to Lock Haven Pa to work for a brand new company called Piper Aircraft. He was of Irish decent and was a Catholic and a democrat. He was denied employment unless he became a Republican and a Protestant. Which he did. He eventually became the QA Manager and was employed there until he became too ill to work. He had a heart condition that took his life a few years after the Lock Haven plant closed.
I ran into something like that back in the late ’80s. It was well known that if you wanted to advance in management you had to go to this one church.

bnwBlockedSorry, bnw. I forgot you are also in the area. If it is any consolation, I’m sure the drought has NOTHING to do with any human induced carbon emissions. I mean, the whole idea is crazy, right?
Some people are claiming there are strange jets that have contrails that don’t dissipate, but instead form into weird structures that bind the moisture in the air.
Personally, I think that is nuts, but I’m not living somewhere where it hasn’t rained in 42 days…
You bet that idea is absolutely crazy. Droughts are a natural occurrence in this climate. This spring and summer had ample rainfall so much so that everything stayed green well into September. Currently we’re listed as a severe drought-
http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/Home/RegionalDroughtMonitor.aspx?southRight now the biggest problem is with livestock having to be fed hay since pastures are too dry. Small ponds are dry too as well as small streams. Hay isn’t available to buy so cattle is going to market at low prices. Reservoir levels are still fairly high.
Don’t know anything about contrails other than they show the direction of high level winds.

Oh, dad’s been gone for a while. Died in 68. I watched my first Ram game with him,
though. Bears vs Rams. Lost 17 to 16 of courseI bet you are VERY happy right now, bnw — savor it.
Now what do you think of the fact Hillary actually won the popular vote?
I mean more voters actually wanted her than Trump. Same as when Gore got
more votes than Bush. What do you think of a system where the person who comes in second wins?
w
vSorry to learn that about your dad. 48 years ago. That had to be rough.
Yes happy and hopeful for a positive change for our country. And nervous and hopeful that my mom’s heart surgery goes fine.
The system is in the US constitution. That is how the candidates campaign. They campaign to receive a simple majority of votes in a state since any excess doesn’t gain them any advantage in the electoral college. Look at that election map and see the vast areas of red that would be at the mercy of a few specks of blue. Yes I’m fine with the system.

They did beat the Bills in Buffalo. Their running game with Forte has been better than ours and their D ain’t too shabby.
Ironically, I’m going to be at Met Life on Saturday for my son’s last marching band performance (The Yamaha Cup). I’m in the pit crew, so I’ll get to be inside the restricted area of the stadium. Maybe, as we’re pushing our props off the field and back down the tunnel, I’ll fake a leg cramp and go hide in the rafters…
Nah, it’s just Rams / Jets. maybe I’d do it if a real team like the Giants had a home game the next day.
Ouch.

bnwBlockedHe does not have a child who goes to public school in New York. He has not struggled to calm the raw nerves of an eight-year-old boy who is scared all his Mexican friends will be rounded up and deported from the US.
If you lived through the endless night linking the fears of Tuesday evening of November 8 to the terror of the following Wednesday morning wondering how to explain Donald Trump’s victory to your children
This stuff makes my eyes roll back in my head. Leave your fucking children alone, idiots. Seriously – just stop being drama queens. “Children” have no business being involved in your irrational fears. What elementary school kid is sitting around determining that a new immigration policy is going to spell the deportation of his friends? They don’t pick up on that stuff by themselves. They’re exposed to it deliberately because of your irresponsibility and your ignorance. “Don’t worry, Timmy, daddy will protect you from the big orange man who wants all your friends to die in Mexico.” Asshats. And Sorkin’s letter to his daughters? It would have been literally the funniest thing I have ever read in my life if it wasn’t so offensive that he had to drag his daughters into his personal hell. The fuck is wrong with people anymore?
Excellent post. They are guilty of child abuse.

bnwBlockedCertainly I hope you are wrong about Trump. I see a guy with a chance to make history. Who doesn’t like to lose. Who wasn’t embraced by the elite, since it was the establishment elite that did everything they could to sabotage his campaign, therefore he doesn’t owe them anything. I see a guy at the end of his life that wants to be remembered not as a great developer but as a great president. He wants his likeness on currency some day. He doesn’t need the life long benefits like Obama. He wants to make a difference. Just my opinion and very wishful thinking I agree.

Chattanooga south into GA is really dry, I think I heard 15 behind for rain. bnwBlockedNo it isn’t. Far from it. When your models do not work don’t claim success. When your models don’t work with cherry picked data then you should expect your funding to dry up. Which it will when Trump is president.
bnw, I’ll give you this. Unlike Trump, I truly think you don’t believe in climate change. I don’t think Trump really believes climate change is a hoax. He just doesn’t care that it’s happening. He is more concerned with profits than averting environmental disaster. That’s why he will declaw the EPA and defund all clean energy research. You, unlike Trump, at least have integrity. You believe what you are saying. You are dead wrong, but at least you are a man of conviction. Trump has no conviction. His only concern is his bottom line. He’s really not worthy of your admiration.
I hope you get a chance to read the thread I posted about -Climate Change- Learning to think like a geologist. I was amazed while reading it and it is my perspective laid out beautifully by the author.

bnwBlockedDon’t get me wrong. I fully expect Trump to be a disaster.
However, I’ve been trying to think of anything that may possibly come out of this that could be positive.
The main thing I think about is the rejection of globalization and terrible trade deals.
I HOPE that Trump is sincere about this and I HOPE that it’s not just another face and con put on more terrible deals. There seems to be a rejection, not just here–but across the world concerning these deals.
I would hope that we can get these things pointed in a better path. Obviously there will be trade. I’m not suggesting otherwise. And certainly there’s the chance that he may start a trade war with China. Yes–he could create a disaster. But HOPEFULLY, with some decent advice and maybe some luck, he finds some balance that works.
The democrats were set in what they were doing–despite Bernie’s attempts to turn Clinton. Did anyone truly ever believe her?
So that’s one area I hope something positive comes from.
The other is foreign policy–military adventurism. I would HOPE that we DO back away from being everywhere and basically setting off one fire after another in an attempt to exert our dominance over the globe. In some of these civil wars in the middle east we back our enemy against another enemy who is fighting a different enemy. It feels like a disaster.
I realize there a million different ways Trump can upset the balance and create World War III. Do I feel safe with him as the captain? Of course not. But I HOPE he plays this just right and allows us to back away from some of the mistakes we’ve been making. I’m not opposed to less of an American footprint all over the globe.
Still–do I believe the forces behind him REALLY want that? No–not really.
We will see.
Anyway—that’s pretty much what I got.
Comments? Thoughts?
Can you think of anything positive we can HOPE for in a Trump presidency?

bnwBlockedJust because Trump doesn’t believe in “climate change” doesn’t mean he’s “anti-science”.
Um, yes it does. It’s settled science. There is no debate in the scientific community about its existence. The only debate is how best to respond to human-made destruction of the planet’s ecosystems. It’s all about “how?” at this point. And, of course, Trump never deals with “how?” when it comes to anything.
It isn’t “settled science”! It is a theory. A theory that real data doesn’t support.

bnwBlockedbnw,
Heard Chris Christie last night admit — and he’s not the only person from Trump’s circle to do this — they didn’t think they were ahead going into the race either. Their own internal polling had them behind. He said their polling did have them a point or two better than the public polls. But still behind.
It’s a mistake to view the polling as some kind of conspiracy against Trump. Remember, it also includes right-wing polling like Fox News and Rasmussen. They had Clinton winning going in, and at times in this race, up by double digits. It’s also quite possible that a commanding lead, even a steady one, provokes apathy and drives down voter participation. That helps Trump.
(Overall voting was down from 2012. As of this morning, seven million fewer Dems showed up, apparently. I didn’t catch the most recent totals for Trump, yet, but since he lost the popular vote, and he doesn’t even have as many as Romney’s losing total, it’s likely GOP turnout was down, too.)
Very few people, across the political spectrum, predicted a Trump victory. This guy was one of them:
Whenever I looked into the methodology of polls that showed Hildabeast so far ahead I always noticed an absurd oversampling of democrat voters. That and the fact that she couldn’t draw any crowds on her own once she got the nomination while Trump filled every venue everywhere in this nation to overflowing for a year and a half, and as I posted months ago that when I traveled I only saw Trump signs everywhere and many of those signs were home made. When I talked to people or listened to what was said around me it was overwhelmingly pro Trump. It boiled down to people were angry that change promised was never delivered but real change they still want. Change. Systemic change. That would never be Hildabeast. It could only be Trump. Thats why I never believed the polls that said he was behind.

bnwBlockedAs a Californian, I have to say I would love to have this conversation. I don’t think it is likely to go anywhere. The Texas secession movement has been going much longer, and hasn’t topped out above 10%. (And, actually, I would be satisfied with Texas seceeding).
Here’s the thing. We really have had no say in anything for over a century. Our primaries happen after the outcome is determined. And we aren’t a swing state in the general election. Because of the despicable electoral college, and the primary schedule, our votes don’t really matter.
Meanwhile, we send more money to Washington DC than we receive from Washington DC. We subsidize you bastards. Our economy is bigger than France’s. Without you guys, we would still be the sixth largest economy in the world, and would still be a world player. All while not having to put up with the Bushes and Trumps of the world. We would be richer without you, we would still have international prestige without you, and we wouldn’t have Clarence Thomas. We would be Canada with good weather, Silicon Valley, and Hollywood.
You guys can go on with your cro-magnon ways – without our money – and everybody is happy.
That would be great. CA has been self-destructing for 3 decades sending its refugees into the rest of the US while bringing the very liberal plague with them that forced them to leave. Seattle was ruined by it. San Antonio is under siege now. Keep “your” money since it won’t be the US dollar any more and it will soon be worthless. Good luck with those water projects too, especially the Colorado River which would be a shame to see much more of its water diverted in the north towards more domestic agriculture sure to occur in the event of a Calexit. People in Socal are already drinking their own urine so perhaps it will be alright?
