AgamemnonThey did some 11 on 11 stuff. The 1s on offense, Jones at center, mostly 1s on defense but they did rotate everybody. The offensive line did ok. They didn’t get blown up. But they didn’t do much either. Fairley did beat Brown. Westbrooks appears to be the 4th tackle. Hopefully the scrimmage tonight can tell us more. It is really tough for our offense to do anything against our defense. If they survive it will be a win. imo
AgamemnonWe all know Long, Quinn, Hayes, Simms, Donald. Brockers is going to be like Quinn and Donald. He beats everybody. Westbrooks beat Rhaney like a drum, per Farr. Of the rest, Ifedi flashed a bit. I didn’t see much of any other 1 on 1 reps.
Farr said, he like Jones’ intelligence, Rhaney’s quicks, and he was comfortable with Barnes.
That is all from the 1 on 1’s. There are 15 minutes to go on the DVR. Maybe I will notice something more.
AgamemnonI think and I think the Rams think we will be fine at the center position.
I am certainly ready to add talent there, though. I wanted to draft Erving this year. In fact, I would have drafted him at #10. Although, I am fine with our drafting Gurley.
If we really want a physically dominating center, we will probably have to go the route of drafting a physical player at another position, ?guard, and converting him to center. Last year maybe somebody like Cann? Or next year we convert Brown to center and draft or develop another player at RG. We know the Rams can draft guards. 😉

It is the best team since the GSOT. The Rams roster is at the point that it is getting to be more about maintaining the talent level, than it is about adding talent. imo
I am talking about keeping players like Ogletree, McDonald, Brockers, Robinson, Donald, etc.

And where is No. 98, Fairley? I don’t remember anyone saying anything about him. I will look again at the DVR and see if I can notice anything.

If Jones is healthy, I want him as our center. I did a couple videos for comparison. The center Dallas drafted and is an all pro. One of the top centers in next years draft. I thought overall Jones compared just fine with them.
Imo, the Rams are Ok with whoever wins the center battle. If Barnes was really special, they would have tendered him. They didn’t. Then they signed him to basically a minimum wage one year contract. Rhaney needs more experience, but maybe he is the best of the 3? Maybe they keep 3 centers?. We are at least ok at the center position.
We had a chance to sign a vet FA center. We passed. We can draft one next year.
The Rams had more than one chance to draft a center in this years draft. They didn’t.

AgamemnonI would like to hear something on Cody, Hagen, and Bryant. I think those guys are fighting for one spot on the roster.
AgamemnonHow you control the salary cap.
You draft well. This gives you cheap talent.
You extend the rookie contracts of your best players. This gives you the best value.
You keep the difference makers. You keep the difference makers that return the best value.
You pay as you go. You don’t use tomorrow’s resources today.
