AgamemnonParticipantdivision leading rams…
ha!
i’m having difficulty believing they’ll pull out a win tomorrow.
although i do agree with them that pulling out a win after traveling all the way across the country is impressive.
When was the last time we were 3 – 1?
AgamemnonParticipantI made some carnitas for burritos.
Can’t have pie though. Pie ist verboten. With pie all I can do is worship it from afar.
.
I had to look up carnitas. It sounds good. Sort of confit pork. I will have to try it some time. Maybe the next time I do a pork roast.

AgamemnonParticipantGood. Now, instead of having to deal with my dish kicking out, I will only have to worry about cable kicking out. Which of course it does, more often than the dish.
I have had both. Many years ago when cable was analog it suxed. I ran a satellite car for the rail gang that I worked on. It was one of those old time big giant dishes. The dish was set up on a flat car. I ran it through a distribution thing and it had 6 tv channels for the guys to tune to, ~20 bunk cars and a 100 tvs, over a 1/4 mile long. I have stayed in many motel rooms that had the old cable. For many years Dish was the best thing going, but their customer service went way down hill in the last few years. After more than 20 years of them, I got disgusted and went with cable, a DSL modem. I like it just fine. A lot of the old cable problems are gone. it is basically a streaming internet connection. I lost a couple channels, BBC America and Cinemax. But, overall I like it better. I have plenty of experience with both and for many years. I prefer cable now.
AgamemnonParticipantAT&T bought DirectTV. In a couple of years all of their stuff will be streamed over the internet. Satellites will be cut out. I read that.

AT&T to Offer DirecTV Without the Satellite Dish
by Karl Bode
Tuesday Mar 01 2016 15:59 EDTAT&T today announced the company will be offering not one but three new DirecTV branded Internet video services sometime late this year. All three of the options are aimed at delivering DirecTV television content without the need to attach a satellite dish to your house. In other words, AT&T’s taking DirecTV nationwide in what sounds like a mammoth over-the-top streaming video play. The offerings vary slightly; one subscription offering much like Dish’s Sling TV, one subscription offer aimed specifically at wireless customers, and one ad-supported service aimed at Millennials.
Click for full size
AT&T clearly hopes that one of the three services will succeed where so many ISP streaming services have failed. Given that such services can cannibalize existing pay TV subscribers, telecom companies often hamstring such offers resulting in a parade of dull services that fail in the market.AT&T executives insist these new services will be different.
“We are looking at these offerings differently than others in the market. We often hear from customers who want more content from streaming services, or who can’t get or can’t afford a traditional pay-TV service,” says AT&T exec John Stankey.
“We intend to offer customers a quality pay-TV experience, including top channels, sports and more, with increased value and flexibility of pure online streaming and no need for home installation.”
Whether customers are actually interested will depend heavily on how much the services cost, something AT&T isn’t yet revealing. Given moves by Verizon, it seems extremely likely that one or all of the options will lean heavily on AT&T’s controversial interest in “zero rating,” or letting a carrier’s own content bypass usage caps. Here’s the three new options coming later this year, and AT&T’s explanation of each:
DIRECTV Now:
quote:The company plans to offer a range of content packages, including much of what is available from DIRECTV today — on-demand and live programming from many networks, plus premium add-on options. Customers will be able to access the service over a wired or wireless Internet connection and on Internet-enabled devices. Consumers can simply sign-up for the service, download the app and begin watching.
DIRECTV Mobile:
quote:This affordable offer will deliver a mobile-first user experience for people wanting to watch premium video and made-for-digital content directly on a smartphone, regardless of the wireless provider. Consumers can start watching video immediately after the same simple sign-up and app-download process.
DIRECTV Preview:
quote:This free offer for anyone with a wired or wireless Internet connection will feature some of the quality programming available on DIRECTV today. The tailored ad-supported service will showcase content from AT&T’s AUDIENCE Network, many networks and other content sources, and millennial-focused video from Otter Media, a joint venture of AT&T and The Chernin Group.
AT&T’s announcement comes on the heels of the news the company is backing away from traditional U-Verse TV, which is delivered over AT&T’s DSL and fiber to the node network. Many new customers are being pushed toward DirecTV first and foremost. Later this year, customers (potential cord cutters especially) will be directed to these new streaming options, but whether they resonate with consumers will again depend on whether AT&T’s seriously willing to compete on price.
AgamemnonParticipantI don’t watch as much TV in general and football in particular, because it has become less and less about the game and more about face time for announcers or celebs. You miss plays cause they are interviewing some guy on the sideline or something else of no particular interest. The draft is a good example. I used to take a day off work and get a motel room with cable just watch the draft. Now, I just record and fast forward through it to get the interesting bits.
ESPN has turned into some kind of Disney marketing channel and The NFL’s own channel just repeats and repeats a few stories that cover a limited area of interest. How many times do I have to watch Beckum? or any other media darling?

AgamemnonParticipantI think Wentz is a better version of Bradford. I don’t comment much on Goff, because I don’t have a definite opinion of him. I don’t hate Goff anymore than I hated Holt. 😉
I do like Mannion and I do hate trading up into the TOP HALF OF THE FIRST ROUND.
I hope Goff turns into a fine QB. He is a Ram now. I do think he has some center of the target accuracy. That is a good thing. I do think he has a lot to learn, but he seems to be a smart guy.
AgamemnonParticipant
AgamemnonParticipantHow long Goff sits is not going to make a difference in the long term.
If he is your guy and you want to fast track him, then he needs reps. Give a few starts and see how he handles it. If he needs more work, let him sit for and try again later.
I think Keenum is the 3rd best QB on this team. But, I am OK with him starting now. I don’t expect him to be back next year. I would rather see Mannion and Goff have a real competition this year.

AgamemnonParticipantbad game management by tampa bay. they should have been able to squeeze out a couple more plays.
They should have used one at 41 secs. After that it is a bit problematic. It depends on how the game goes. Whether you want to call a run play or if you complete a pass in bounds or whether you commit an offensive penalty. But, normally, yes, you figure they would have gotten 2 more plays.
AgamemnonParticipantNormally, I think the Rams would cut Isaiah Johnson. They just moved him up from the practice squad. I believe they have to keep him on the roster for 3 games. I wonder how this will work out?

I guess they can cut Johnson. 😉

This is even better. Go here and scroll down => http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201609250tam.htm
You can scroll your mouse over the win probability graph and see the the exact % for any time during the game. 😉
This is better than Gamebook.

I made a mistake in my last 2 images in the above post. I should reflected that it was the last play of the game or second last play. The decreases TBay’s winning percentage.
TBay could have been saving one TO, in case they got an offensive penalty. It would have saved the automatic 10 sec. run off. I think that came into play the last time we beat them.
What all this shows, is that you should bet on the team with the lead.

AgamemnonParticipantI will buy the theory that they are not using Tavon as a decoy so much. But, mostly I think it is the Offensive Line. Not that they aren’t good enough, but that they haven’t really settled in on the starting 5. They just didn’t get time together as a set unit.
I would put it this way…if it’s the line, it’s because they;re out of sync. It’s still young (2 2nd year players, that is if you count Brown/Wichmann as one guy, and a 3rd year LOT combined with a center who has actually only played 1 whole season plus 4 games before that). They didn’t get Hav back till near the end and that moved Saffold to guard just before the season.
So yeah it could be the OL is out of sync.
The next 2 or 3 games should make or break that theory. But they certainly should play better with more time together. imo
AgamemnonParticipantI will buy the theory that they are not using Tavon as a decoy so much. Without Tavon, the LBs can concentrate on Gurley. But, mostly I think it is the Offensive Line. Not that they aren’t good enough, but that they haven’t really settled in on the starting 5. They just didn’t get time together as a set unit.
Give those guys a couple games together and they will be fine. imo
I read that Gurley did better when Harkey was used as a FB out of the I.
Also, nobody is scared by our WRs, especially if they can’t hold on to the ball.

AgamemnonParticipant(On the decision-making process of going for the two-point conversion in the fourth quarter)
“We were up by 11, which in my brain is three scores: it’s touchdown, two-point conversion, and a field goal. What I want to do is, I want to try to get to 13. I was thinking if I can just get to 13, because if I got to 13, then that’ll put pressure on their place kicker for two scores, because he’d been struggling.”
If you remember the chatroom, that is what I figured he would say. It is seeing ghosts. 😉
You give them a chance to tie on only 2 scores, because you are worried about what happens if they score 3 times.
The cure is worse than the disease.

Fisher in the Jeff Fisher Show, ESPN podcast, talks a lot about penalties. Strangely he doesn’t mention the lining up off sides penalty. He almost makes you feel good about the Rams’ penalties. He has really good magician like verbal skills. 😉
