With the draft Thursday, trade up/trade down talks will be more frequent. While seldom do trades happen this far out, it’s more a case of letting other clubs know that you may want to move. Basically initial conversations==

Sean McVay won’t deny the Rams’ interest in running backs in the draft, but he’s looking for guys who can be change-of-pace players out of the backfield.
“We’ll look to see if there’s a player that adds some value at that position,” McVay said, via Gary Klein of the LA Times. “When that would be is hard to say, but I think you’re always looking for more playmakers.”

…
DT Ndamukong Suh
Statistical production is a major factor in determining a player’s election to the Hall of Fame, but it’s not the only essential element. Suh’s numbers don’t pop from the screen (47.0 career sacks), but when factoring his position on the field, it begins to put things into perspective. Defensive tackles have never been known for their big sack totals – and the contracts that come with said sack totals – until Suh came along.
Teams began realizing the impact a defensive tackle can have on disrupting the flow of an offensive attack. When Suh inked his record breaking six-year/$114 million contract, it signified that front offices were getting wise to the importance of the position. He’s paved the way for talents like Aaron Donald, Geno Atkins and Jurrell Casey – all interior defenders who can change any given game without putting up gaudy numbers. Suh’s impact on team building and his sheer dominance at the position gives him the nod here.
…
OLB Clay Matthews III
The list of Pro Football Hall of Famers to have switched positions in the middle of the careers is quite thin. In a few years, we’ll be adding Packers’ linebacker Clay Matthews to that list. Matthews began his career as a fierce pass-rusher for Green Bay, utilizing his inhuman blend of strength and speed in order to make the offensive backfield his second home.
The former USC Trojan made four Pro-Bowl teams during his time on the outside. During a restructuring of the Packers defense, Matthews was asked to move to middle linebacker, where he spent a majority of the 2014 and 2015 seasons patrolling. Having to shift gears to the inside spot, Matthews didn’t miss a beat, as he was nominated for the Pro Bowl in both seasons. He’s proven that he can do it all at the linebacker spot, and his 72.5 sacks, six interceptions and Super Bowl ring speak for themselves.

Higbee? Pretty much every day I went to camp he would have a big incompletion. To be fair some times it was because Goff or Mannion threw too flat of a ball. However his lack of success on potential TD passes stood out when compared to the other receivers.

To put in perspective how “in” the #Rams staff was on Joseph Noteboom last year – with a big thumbs up from Aaron Kromer – when #Rams were grading D-lineman in 2018 draft, in applicable cases they’d say: “let’s go see how he did against Noteboom”Downtown Rams@DowntownRams
For the record, if the #Rams take Jachai Polite at 31 that’s still a good pick. Just because his value dropped doesn’t mean he’s going to fall out of the first. Don’t assume he will be there in the third. He’s an uber talented pass rusher.Ian Rapoport@RapSheet
Big news for #NotreDame DT Jerry Tillery, a potential 1st rounder, after his appointment with top shoulder doctor, Peter Millett in Vail: Tillery is ahead of schedule in his rehab from March 6 shoulder surgery & fully expects Tillery to be ready for full activities in early July.Brett Kollmann@BrettKollmann
Tillery injured his labrum on his second sack against Stanford in week 5 and was visibly fighting through pain on every play….he then went on to get 2 more sacks that night.==

from http://theramshuddle.com/topic/bonsignore-sez-rams-draft-process-most-in-depth-in-the-nfl/
“His Senior Bowl performance, I mean it was the best Senior Bowl performance I’ve ever seen,” Holmes said of Donald. “I’m talking about the week of practice and the game. He just completely dominated it. And it’s no longer against ACC linemen that might make it to a camp or might not even get drafted. He’s dominating the best of the best from a senior standpoint.”
