Are the college offensive systems not producing pro O-lineman as they once were? It seems league wide teams are complaining of poor O line play. O line quality depth seems to be a thing of the past.

    Dan Shonka@Ourlads_Shonka
An O-lineman is a skilled player that takes time & is very technique oriented. There was a time where o-line coaches would work 14-16 hours a day between film work & perfect practice to help a blocker be all he could be. With time restrictions in college & pro the results R down

The Rams started the day No.3 in offensive efficiency.

Then averaged 9 yards per play in the second half at Buffalo (7.2 for the game) and scored 32 points on 9 possessions.

When the sting wears off, there’s a lot of good here.

The Rams are operating the league’s third run-heaviest offense (MIN CLE). This is, by far, the run-heaviest Sean McVay has ever been. He’s generally been balanced with a slight lean toward the pass.

the Rams should be thrilled with the way Jared Goff played.

Goff threw more passes into tight windows on Sunday…with an aggressiveness rate of 21.9% – tied for fifth-highest in the NFL this week and up from only 3.7% in Week 2. He didn’t have to take many deep shots, but the throws he did make at least 10 yards downfield were accurate ones.

Highest-graded @RamsNFL in Week 3 loss at BUF (PFF):

    AD99 – 87.7
    Goff – 85.3
    Edwards – 83.2
    Kupp – 81.6
    Fox – 81.1
    Havenstein – 80.6
    Henderson – 80.5

(They were not kind to the secondary and linebackers.)

    Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Could see more playing time incoming for Morgan Fox

    PFF@PFF
Highest completion % when kept clean in the pocket:

    1. Russell Wilson – 85.7
    T-2. Lamar Jackson/ Jared Goff – 80.6
    4. Dak Prescott – 80.0

According to PFF, Ranked at their positions…

Goff is 3rd, Henderson is 1st, Kupp is 2nd. Whitworth is 1st, Havenstein is 9th. Edwards is 9th, Corbett is 22nd. Blythe is 7th. Higbee is 9th. Woods is 1st (running).

On defense it’s Donald and Ramsey in the top 10 and everyone else is worse than 30th. Some guys are ranked no better than bartenders. Ebukam is 106, the worst OLB in the league.

    Per @PFF:

    Pass rush snaps:

    Morgan Fox – 49
    Samson Ebukam – 65
    Ogbo Okoronkwo – 39

    Total pressures:

    Fox – 6
    Ebukam & Ogbo – 7

Fox has fewer snaps than everyone, yet has more pressures than everyone not named Aaron Donald or Michael Brockers. Time for more playing time.

The Rams got yammed on all offseason as:

    – One-year wonders
    – In salary cap hell
    – No draft picks
    – Front-loaded roster
    – Bad QB on an awful deal

Instead, they’re the third-youngest roster and clearly one of the best teams in the NFL. Funny how things work out.

    D’Marco Farr@DMarcoFarr1
Just finished watching Rams offense v Buffalo defense!! It’s a damn shame the game ended the way it did (basically on a weak DPI call) because that second half was equal parts surgical and gutsy.

yeah. ebukam looks terrible. just terrible.

lewis is eligible to come back. can’t be worse than ebukam???

maybe some jonah williams in the second half???

i do think the defense in the second half will be better than the first half version.

edwards. i really like this guy. i don’t know about at left tackle. but at least at guard.

henderson looks like a starting rb. i think the henderson/akers combo (when akers gets healthy) will be something else.

I just reviewed the game tape,,,

From what I saw, and what Goff was looking at on that INT,,,

Based off the coverage,,, VJ ran a button hook turning outward,,, he should of turned in….

The safety was way too deep and it would of been a perfect pass and a first down…….

Goff still threw it into the inside thinking maybe VJ would cut back in… from the look of the game tape…

Woods was on the other side past the First down Markers, but his windows were tighter

That was the right look as far as Goff should of went to for a first down,,,

Everyone else, the three other receivers, was inside the five yd line

“That’s not something that I’m going to dwell on… You’re not going to get me to make an excuse about that.”

-Sean McVay on the pass interference call that cost LA 3-0

    Stu Jackson@StuJRams
    Injury updates from Sean McVay:

S Jordan Fuller (shoulder) and RB Cam Akers (ribs) are day-to-day.

McVay is optimistic about Fuller playing this week

The #Rams have at least one player at each position on the offense that is ranked in the top 10 per PFF:

    QB Goff – 3rd
    RB Henderson – 1st
    WR Kupp – 3rd
    TE Higbee – 10th
    OT Whitworth – 2nd
    G Edwards – 9th
    C Blythe – 8th

    Stu Jackson@StuJRams
Rams DL Michael Brockers on where the team is at after Week 3:

“There’s no question about it, this is a great team. As long as this team communicates, comes together and makes things happen, there’s no doubt about it that this team can go a long way.”

    Cameron DaSilva@camdasilva
PFF grades put into perspective just how good Goff, Henderson and the Rams’ other offensive players have been this season.

Goff: No. 3 QB (No. 4 overall on offense)
    Henderson: No. 1 RB

    Lindsey Thiry@LindseyThiry
Rams RB Darrell Henderson was asked how he felt this morning, after a career-high 114 rushing yards on 20 carries. “I couldn’t even get out of bed this morning,” Henderson said, smiling.

Pro Football Reference is picky when it comes to deciding what counts as a pressure, but according to the site, L.A.’s edge rushers have 4 total pressures this season.

All of them are by Floyd.

The Rams are getting very little out of their edge rushers, which raises the need for Terrell Lewis to be an immediate contributor when activated

    J.B. Long@JB_Long
“I think we’re a better 2-1 team than we were at 3-0 (last year). You can get so caught up in some of the results that you lose sight of the process along the way. I do believe that we’re a better team than we were last year at this time.”
    – @RamsNFL HC Sean McVay

    TurfShowTimes@TurfShowTimes
Aaron Donald nearly willed the Rams to a 25-point comeback win all by himself when he took LA from 25-percent to 59-percent win probability on a single play. And he did it against one of the NFL’s toughest quarterbacks to get to this season.

No team runs the ball more often on 1st and 2nd down than the Rams.

Yet, they’re averaging an NFL-high 6.5 yards per play on 1st and 2nd down.

Ike doesn’t get enough credit for the blocker he was. Packing a punch, putting his body on the line for the success of the play!

i think that gets flagged in today’s game.

Most total pressures generated this season:

    1. Aaron Donald – 20
    T-2. Myles Garrett/ Joey Bosa – 19
    4. T.J. Watt – 18

consistently better than all of his peers year in and year out. what a guy.
