ESPN analyst @danorlovsky7 predicts the Rams will move up the power rankings after a 20-17 win over the Cowboys. “Huge jump, potentially,” he says.Rich Hammond@Rich_Hammond
The Rams didn’t have any negative-yardage run plays yesterday. They had two in last season’s loss to Dallas. That’s not a huge difference, of course, but keeping those minuses off the sheet, particularly on first down, is big.Brian Baldinger@BaldyNFL
ACHTUNG! AATENZIONE! Can I please get your attention. #AD99 wants his damn award back. Going to release a video of him destroying the #Cowboys offense. But I warn you….hide anyone that should be sheltered from extreme violenceSeptember 14, 2020 at 8:23 pm #121028znModeratorJ.B. Long@JB_Long
Sean McVay on the @Rams NFL health coming out of Week One win:Came out of it clean; don’t expect anyone’s practice plan to be altered this week.
Stu Jackson@StuJRams
Rams HC Sean McVay said TE Gerald Everett “got his back banged up a little bit” against Cowboys but eventually returned to game.“He’ll be ok,” McVay said.

Sean McVay on using Cooper Kupp as a punt returner after the contract extension, “The more touches that he gets the better for our football team.” Says Kupp will be punt returning going forward
@usatodaynflLindsey Thiry@LindseyThiry
Since reviewing film, Sean McVay says Morgan Fox and Sebastian Joseph-Day were real bright spots last night vs. Cowboys.Sean McVay says he was getting blasted all day about his lack of face covering (mask on chin) during last night’s game, but takes responsibility for not following the protocol and says he’ll do better.
alexander spelman@aspelman1
Rams were also pretty good at avoiding third and long by getting positive plays early. I count 14 3rd down plays where they had 5 yards or less to goJourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
The Rams will travel day-before for both back-to-back road trips the next two weeks. Initial plan was to stay on the East Coast for two weeks, but, COVID.Stu Jackson@StuJRams
Rams HC Sean McVay said Cam Akers starting at RB was reflective of team going into the game thinking he would get a little bit more work on early downs than Malcolm Brown. While it was Brown with the big night, “Cam is going to continue to be a big part of our offense.”

Been checking out the Cowboys Fan Forums. Quite a few of them were remarking on how well Goff throws.

DEFENSIVE MVP OF THE WEEK
DI Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams
Donald destroyed the Cowboys offensive line. He generated a total of 10 pressures, which was four more than any other player at the position on the week. Donald also won on 36% of his pass-rush reps — 10 percentage points higher than anyone else. That helped him produce the highest pass-rush grade for the week (90.8; second was Chris Jones at 78.9). On top of that, he provided great run support, as his 77.4 grade was the third-best at the position. That right there is what we call a game-wrecker.

“I thought he had a great feel for the game, his composure and his ability to see things in live action is I think one of his special traits. That was definitely indicative last night of some of the decisions he made”
I like the sounds of that. Ability to see things in live action. Adjusting on the fly.

The LA Rams found a game one starting safety with the 199th pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, without OTA’s, with the bare minimum of training camp, and facing 2019’s top offense. And he played lights out.
Congratulations @j_fuller4

Enh. My own view iz, that comment right there reflects an over-reaction to one single solitary game in the NFL. Yes, the kid got good reviews in camp, and yes he had one good game.
Encouraging. But one game is one game.

Listened to PHILLY SPORTS NETWORK https://phillysportsnetwork.com/2020/05/13/lane-johnsons-impact-on-the-eagles-is-greater-than-you-think/
Eagles O/T Lane Johnson is listed as questionable. He did not play Sunday. Simply speaking, the Eagles are a different team when Lane Johnson is in the lineup. Wentz is a different quarterback. They were talking about this on Philly sports radio today and it comes up every time he is out of the lineup. As a starter, Wentz is 26-14 with him, 6-10 without him. In 2016 when he was suspended for peds they absolutely sucked. When he came back, they were almost automatically a good team. It’s really amazing.

Game 1
Whitworth received a 95.2 overall grade, which is the highest amongst LT’s in week 1. Blythe (81.9) was 3rd overall (amongst C’s) and Corbett (80.3) was 6th overall (amongst G’s).

Darious Williams played 89% of defensive snaps as the Rams third CB. I know Dallas mainly ran with 3WRs, but it was an incredibly heavy nickel game from the Rams D.==

September 15, 2020 at 5:03 pm #121105znModeratorHere’s one reason you probably thought the NFL’s quality of play was decent in Week 1: Holding flags plummeted to at least a 20-year low. As a result, total penalties plunged to the second-lowest total for a Week 1 since 2001. https://t.co/m4vxDJ4BdB

I know it’s just week 1. But should @AaronDonald97 start getting some mention in possibly winning MVP. I know that award is for QBs but AD is in the convo for the most dominant player hands down. Thoughts? -
