from Refocused, NFL Week 1: Los Angeles Rams 33, Oakland Raiders 13

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-refocused-nfl-week-1-rams-33-raiders-13

The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Oakland Raiders on Monday night, 33-13, concluding the first week of the 2018 NFL regular season.

Quarterback Jared Goff didn’t have the best night in terms of accuracy, but it’s clear that Goff and head coach/play-caller Sean McVay seem determined to stretch the field. Wide receiver Brandin Cooks was heavily targeted throughout the game and looks to be the focal point of the Rams’ passing offense.

Running back Todd Gurley barely came off the field, which shows just how important he is to the Rams’ offense. Throughout the game, Gurley displayed his normal burst and athleticism with the ball in his hands.

The Rams talented defense showed up in a big way, forcing three turnovers and producing numerous pressures on quarterback Derek Carr. Aaron Donald was at the forefront of it all and consistently got the better of Raiders right guard Gabe Jackson.

The two new additions in the secondary, Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters, limited Jordy Nelson and Amari Cooper to a combined 4 catches for 32 yards. If they can continue the same kind of dominance against opposing receivers, this defense will quickly become a nightmare to face up against.

    Keys to the game

Los Angeles: The Rams offense hit their stride in the second half and were able to rip off some long scoring drives and drain the clock.

Oakland: Oakland turned the ball over three times and were penalized 11 times for 155 yards. That’s not a formula for success.

I think any time 4 out of 5 OL are the highest rated at their position, that’s a good thing.

Shaun O’Hara named the Rams his oline of the week

there was a link on the page yesterday… the Skins and Rams were two of 4 finalist

anyhow on NFL radio this morning he was talking to Bob Popa and let slip that the Rams had actually won the award for the week

The official winner won’t be announced until tonight on NFL Network but at the end of his segment he said it would be the Rams and couldn’t stop praising Roger Saffold, Whit, and Havenstein who may have taken a step up this year

Your highest graded #LARams in week one of the 2017 season (still w/ team):

    Lamarcus Joyner – 96.2
    Michael Brockers – 89.6
    Jared Goff – 86.6

wait. is that the 2017 season???

things would have been much different with mack on their team. but hey. still impressive.

PFF: OL Rankings after Week 1

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-nfl-offensive-line-rankings-after-week-1 ]Pro Football Focus

    4. Los Angeles Rams

    Starting Lineup:

    Left Tackle: Andrew Whitworth, 84.3
    Left Guard: Rodger Saffold, 84.5
    Center: John Sullivan, 71.0
    Right Guard: Austin Blythe, 60.9
    Right Tackle: Rob Havenstein, 73.6

The Rams were easily the highest-graded unit from this past week, although a Raiders front without Khalil Mack doesn’t strike much fear. They allowed only two pressures all game long with the interior of the offensive line not allowing a single pressure.

Their numbers aren’t the same as they had in their tweet.
