Vinny, now that Tree has been traded, you think they stick with Barron or is there a good chance he gets released (7mil can go a long way towards signing two ILBs better suited for the 3-4)
Vincent Bonsignore@DailyNewsVinny
More likely he stays, is the sense I’m getting.
The thing is, one of them was likely to go considering the money they were making, the emphasis in ILB in Wade’s defense (not as high as OLB. DL, CB) and lack of scheme fit. But both would be pushing it. Things can change after draft and free agency of course.
Free agency hasn’t even started, yet #Rams have vastly improved their secondary – a major area of need – while increasing their draft capital and remaining net neutral in salary cap. That’s pretty damned impressive

I no longer think Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan can be friends.

Just to reset the table a bit, Rams expect to have approx. $36 million in cap room after all trades/Joyner tender are official. If they cut Tavon Austin, as expected, they’ll have a bit under $40 million in cap room going into league year.

Here’s the thing: The cap went up by $10 mill from 2017, and there aren’t many marquee FA’s this year. That means guys are getting OVERPAID.
I’m sure the Rams want Watkins back, too. But is he worth a top-five contract at the position? That may be the terms.
