Titans G.M. wants a “king’s ransom” for first overall pick

The Titans are willing to trade down in the NFL draft. But only if someone wows them with an offer.

That’s the word from Titans G.M. Jon Robinson, who said at a Titans fan festival today that it would take a “king’s ransom” to give up the first overall pick.

“It would take a substantial amount of picks to do that,” Robinson said, via Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.

Most mock drafts have the Titans selecting Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil with the first overall pick, and that pick makes a lot of sense because the Titans are committed to improving the protection for quarterback Marcus Mariota. But there’s also been plenty of talk that some team will fall in love with North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz or Cal quarterback Jared Goff, and trade up to the first overall pick to get him.

If such a team exists, that team better be ready to give a whole lot of picks to the Titans.

Snead ruined that for everybody.. lol They don’t want to take less than he got and no one wants to give up what washinton did, except the chipper, if the rumor’s are true, and that wasn’t enough. But, not all drafts are created equal.

Looks like the Titans will be making that first pick.
