McVay says Suh will play nose tackle with Donald remaining at 3 technique.McVay on Ndamukong Suh: “It’s an exciting player to add to our front. Really, his resume speaks for itself. When you couple him with some of the other players we have up front, some of the players we’ve acquired this offseason, we feel like we’re adding pieces to get better.”
Vincent Bonsignore@DailyNewsVinny
It simply boils down to this: They believe they have a legit Super window and are aggressively trying to maximize it.They have $100m in space next year and believe their young foundation of Donald/Gurley/Goff/Peters offers a window as wide as any in #NFL
At the end of the day – in a roundabout way – the
#Rams traded Robert Quinn to #Dolphins for Ndamukong Suh and a 4th rd pick. Yikes1. Couple things on #Rams relative to Wade Phillips and where they are at OLB/ILB
2. #Rams addressed need at CB – Peters/Talib – & front line with Suh. They like OLB Samson Ebukam. There are options opposite him in draft.Vincent Bonsignore added,
Vincent Bonsignore3. Mark Barron and Corey Littleton are players they’re comfortable with at ILB – although three draft can alter that.

Sean McVay on handling the personalities and egos on defense: “I think the defensive coordinator has more swag than all of them, so we’ll be in good shape.”Alden Gonzalez@Alden_Gonzalez
Sean McVay still speaks longingly about Sammy Watkins. His numbers didn’t jump off the page, but McVay valued his separation skills and what that created for his offense. It’s obvious why he would seem giddy about the potential of Odell Beckham Jr.Ndamukong Suh averaged 58 pressures and 532 pass-rush snaps per season from 2014 to 2016. But he generated only 43 pressures in 495 pass-rush snaps in 2017, according to Pro Football Focus. He should get more pass-rush snaps this year, and his pressures should pick up again with fewer double teams. That’s the Rams’ hope, at least.

We got @NdamukongSuh congrats man! OTAs gonna get real! Lol #MOBSQUAD #LARamsRich Hammond@Rich_Hammond
McVay, in Orlando, expressed confidence that Suh had learned and grown from previous on-field issues, and said he wasn’t concerned about adding big personalities on defense. “I think the defensive coordinator has more swag than all of them, so we’ll be in good shape.”McVay, to reporters in Orlando, on the hypothetical of adding another star player (Odell) to his offense: “As long as we have enough snaps per game, I think we can keep everybody happy, if that’s the case.”
Gary Klein@LATimesklein
McVay: “The one thing you feel so good about Aaron Donald is he said, ‘Hey the guy’s a great football player. If he can help us win let’s get him on board.’”Sean McVay on Suh-Donald dynamic: “Ndamukong and Aaron both have talked among each other as this thing was going on…. The mutual respect that exists between those two players was imperative and really paramount to even pursue this in the first place.”
As Stan Kroenke and Sean McVay arrived with other guests for an opulent outdoor reception at the NFL owners meetings Monday night, they stopped, clinked beer bottles and said, “Cheers.” The Rams’ owner and his head coach toasted another deal done.

Yes, work to be done at LB (through the Draft, presumably). However, if goal of the offseason was to improve run defense, the @RamsNFL now have the 2nd (Suh), 10th (Brockers), and 12th (Donald) graded interior defenders against the run from 2017, per @PFF.

Folks asking why Ndamukong Suh chose the #Rams: Impressed w/the #Rams’ staff as a whole. Wade Phillips and him saw eye-to-eye. He connected well w/Les Snead and likes the idea of playing in different spots. LA can even use him as a nose. Knows he will contend and be close to homeThe Rams will btw, use Suh as a nose, but he can play all over and still get up the field in Wade Phillips’ non-traditional 3-4.
Suh told me he liked Sean McVay. But the Wade Phillips factor is also crucial, and he enjoyed speaking with him as well.
#Suh immediately enjoyed culture and tone of the #Rams. Felt really good afterward about how/where he would fit. Feeling was clearly mutual.
