Every once in awhile you see this in sports, but #Rams took a major bite out of the #Seahawks today, It was obvious afterward. They were stunned, perplexed. That’s a Seahawks problem now. All of Rams focus was ahead. Looking forward. Uncanny how the page got turned.

Rams clinch the division by winning in Tennessee on Sunday. Or if Seattle loses to Dallas. If they don’t, they can still clinch a playoff berth if Detroit, Carolina and Atlanta lose, per the NFL. @CVRamsClub

McVay on Robert Quinn, “He’s really playing good football lately. The speed shows up… His get off, you see why he’s a special pass rusher.”

McVay says Mark Barron has had some knee soreness, which didn’t respond in the cold in Seattle. Said Littleton played well in his stead.

Per @NFLResearch, the @RamsNFL increase of 17.3 PPG over previous season is the largest in NFL history — comfortably

    Gary Klein‏@LATimesklein
McVay: “I think you know what would be a good Christmas gift for everybody, is if we’re able to come away with a win, and that would be a special thing for this team and for a lot of our players.”

    Alden Gonzalez‏@Alden_Gonzalez
The best Christmas gift Sean McVay ever received? Wide receiver gloves. “Goes to show you that I really don’t have a life,” he said. They weren’t even cool ones. “I don’t want to throw anybody under the bus, but they were some cheap gloves my dad got me.”

The Rams pressured Russell Wilson on nearly half of his dropbacks and allowed less than three yards per play. On their dominance …

Troy Hill, who replaced Kayvon Webster, was the NFL’s third-highest-graded cornerback in Week 15, per PFF. He allowed a 39.6 passer rating on 42 coverage snaps.

Don’t sleep on Robert Quinn. The Rams’ outside linebacker has six sacks over his last four games and, according to Pro Football Focus, has generated 17 quarterback pressures during that time. That’s the same amount of pressures he had through the season’s first eight games.

Rams RB Todd Gurley has forced 12 missed tackles in the running game and has averaged 4.24 yards after contact over the last two weeks, both tops in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.

Very possible (probable?) that Rams host a wild-card-round game against the third-place team from that up-for-grabs NFC South. Winner of next week’s Dallas-Seattle game also retains life.

McVay, asked about Robert Woods’ return, said Woods blocked three players on one run by Tavon Austin.

During a question, Sean McVay was told he’d been getting a lot of love for Coach of the Year honors. McVay deadpanned, “Except for when we don’t give Todd the ball.”

    Ryan Kartje‏@Ryan_Kartje
That’s a tough ask. But Zuerlein needs only 11 points to have the single-highest scoring season by a kicker in NFL history. That’s likely.

Greg Zuerlein needs 29 points over the next two weeks to surpass Ladainian Tomlinson for the most points scored in a single NFL season.

    Myles Simmons‏@MylesASimmons
Most Pro Bowl selections for the Rams since ’03.

Not to look past what’s happening this week, but the Niners are coming on. Going to be a tough one in Week 17.

Seven of the Seahawks’ 15 drives ended in net negative yards. Three more of them ended with fewer than 10 yards.

The Rams held Seattle to 11 first downs and 149 total yards. That is remarkable

yeah. this is an interesting development.

the defense was already pretty good. but now quinn is actually productive? ummm… yeah. i don’t think he’ll ever be the old quinn. but a quinn at maybe 75% of his powers? i’m curious to see how the defense does these next 2 games.
