The #Rams are down to backups at so many positions it’s hard to keep track. Just a reminder of why “get the win, get out of town” is so important. Style points are great, but it’s all about the W

Jared Goff completed 14 of 28 passes for 201 yards and an interception. The third-year quarterback was held without a touchdown pass for the first time since the loss in Minnesota last November.

“I’ve gotta be better for our team.”
-Sean McVay, taking the blame for what he called bad play-calling decisions that kept his @RamsNFL from putting Week 6 out of reach.

Have to think he’s talking about leaving Goff in position to be sacked twice in plus-territory with 4Q lead.

The Rams held off a late push from the Broncos and improved to 6-0 with a 23-20 victory Sunday inside a frigid Broncos Stadium at Mile High. Todd Gurley set a new career high in rushing yards with 208. While the defense showed improvement in stopping the run, vulnerabilities appeared at cornerback as Aqib Talib remains on injured reserve.

Well it’s not all going to be pretty when you play in Seattle and Denver back-to-back.

    ESPN Stats & Info@ESPNStatsInfo
Todd Gurley now has 11 TD this season, the most through 6 games since Shaun Alexander had 12 in 2005 for the Seahawks.

    Alexander won MVP that season.

    And there is more!

Gurley has the Rams’ first 200-yard rushing game since Marshall Faulk in Dec. 2001 against the Panthers

    Brian Cummings@B_inShortsville
Rams fan fretted when Ogletree walked in free agency, but Littleton has been fantastic. He’s their Matt Milano, stuffing the stat sheet.

Fourth-quarter touchdownless streak is over. Keenum to Thomas in the back of the end zone gets six

Rams allowed 60 yards rushing on 17 attempts, good for just 3.5 yards per carry. DEN entered today’s game No. 1 averaging 5.6 YPC.

    J.B. Long @JB_Long
I’d like to believe that if the season ended today, @robertwoods would be a surefire Pro Bowler. He was a monster again today. #LARams

    Rich Hammond@Rich_Hammond
Cooper Kupp said Rams held him out in second half for precaution. He will get more tests tomorrow. McVay didn’t give much of an update on Saffold, who likely will get more tests on his knee tomorrow.

    Julia Faron@JFaron
DT Aaron Donald sacked Denver’s Case Keenum for a loss of 14 yards. Donald has 4.0 sacks this season and 43.0 career.

    Sam Farmer@LATimesfarmer
real MVP for Rams, apparently, is Mr. Miagi, who slapped his hands together and rubbed Cooper Kupp’s knee.

He was on the PUP list. I guess he is eligible to come back. I think they have 3 weeks before they have to decide on him.

I hope he’s ready to go. The Rams really need the help.

Of course, the Rams aren’t the only team whose defense morphed into a mere speed bump this year. It’s a league-wife phenomenon.

#Broncos openly admitted they were basically hoping the Rams ran the ball hoping to slow down the pass game The Rams did, but not as much as they should/could have.

Sean McVay was frustrated with himself not calling a better game to better take advantage of the Broncos approach. Not all coaches hold themselves that accountable. One thing to remember, though: McVay is 32. This is his fourth year calling plays. He’ll learn.

    Rich Hammond@Rich_Hammond
No one rips Sean McVay like Sean McVay, who said, “The cold didn’t dictate any of the decisions, as far as play selection. If anything, the cold might have just affected my brain, with some of the decisions I made.”

Players on the PUP list may not practice or play the first six weeks of the season. After the sixth week, the player must be allowed to return to practice, placed on injured reserved or released within five weeks.

If the player returns to practice, the team has three weeks to decide to place him on the active roster or on the injured reserve list.

from PFF Refocused, NFL Week 6: Los Angeles Rams 23, Denver Broncos 20

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-refocused-nfl-week-6-los-angeles-rams-23-denver-broncos-20

Todd Gurley had one of the most productive rushing games of his career against the Broncos, relying largely on an outside zone attack. Gurley broke several tackle attempts with speed and a highly effective stiff arm.

Jared Goff did throw an interception on an out route when Tramaine Brock tipped the ball which bounced off the face mask of the intended receiver Josh Reynolds and into the hands of Darian Stewart.

Defensive interior Aaron Donald was once again his dominant self, as he got the better of both Denver guards throughout the entire game. Donald was consistently in the Denver backfield, forced Case Keenum to leave the pocket multiple times and notched a sack on the day.

Cornerback Troy Hill, who is playing in place of the injured Aqib Talib, gave up big plays to the Broncos receivers. Wide receivers Courtland Sutton, Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders all recorded receptions longer than 40 yards while being covered by Hill.

    Keys to the Game:

    Los Angeles:

The Goff-Gurley combination rose above the cold weather to keep Denver down on the scoreboard through four quarters.

    Denver:

Overall, Keenum’s inconsistency hurt the Broncos too much in this game. Despite the fact that receivers played themselves open, Keenum struggled to get the offense going with accurate passes.
