from NFL’s most underappreciated players: https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-s-most-underappreciated-players-cowboys-brandin-cooks-eagles-reed-blankenship-among-nfc-picks

After years of being, on average, the fifth-most targeted player in Kansas City (and one season as the second-most targeted player in an anemic Ravens passing game in 2022), Robinson signed with the Rams, where he was … the team’s sixth-most targeted player in 2023. But that’s largely because he was not a part of the passing game at all until Week 9, when he logged his first target (and catch) in a Rams uniform. And he really started putting up numbers down the stretch, helping the team secure a playoff berth with 21 catches for 319 yards and four TDs in five games between Weeks 13 and 17. This offseason, Robinson re-upped in L.A. on a one-year deal. So the stage is set for him to finally, in his ninth pro season, establish himself as an essential supporting member of a capable passing game. If he’s about to level up from yeoman status playing alongside star receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacuanow’s the time to put Robinson on this list.

@RamsNFL these 2 rookies; @JaredVerse1 @bradenfiske55 are both excellent prospects individually; but in combination they are a lethal duo. Cant wait to watch these 2 on Sundays.

    Kupp

    from https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2024/06/06/rams-cooper-kupp-injuries-2023-sean-mcvay-quote/?taid=66624dad8fc192000171a722&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter

McVay said on Tuesday that Kupp was dealing with more than people realize. He compared it to Matthew Stafford in 2022 when he was playing through various injuries, including an elbow issue that limited him greatly throughout the spring and summer.

“Really, similar to Matthew in ‘22 and then Cooper last year, I don’t think anybody really understands the amount of things that both of those guys were working through in each of those years,” McVay said. “That gives you an appreciation, and I think both of them an appreciation for how much they love this game and how much more fun it is when you’re feeling good. But you talk about a guy that’s really set the tempo for the way that this offseason has gone. I’m not surprised, but you sure are impressed with just the consistency, the work ethic, the growth mindset, and how that influences and affects the rest of the guys that he’s around. This guy’s a stud. I love him. I’m really happy to see where he’s at right now.”

During an interview with J.B. Long and D’Marco Farr, Jackson said Stafford was the primary reason he picked the Rams.

“It definitely came down to a few teams but here, obviously, the weather is absolutely incredibly. Every day is beautiful. But, No. 9,” Jackson said. “I had Matthew my rookie year and I knew what he brought to the table and I knew he could bring us all the way. And from the outside looking in, we had a lot of carryover in Detroit and I got along well with those guys. Greg, Brad (Holmes), Jared (Goff) and they all loved it out here and I figured they’re my kind of guys.”

The original plan for Bennett was he’d be a relatively cheap and competent #2 for years to come, and he’d be #2 out of the box. Did they think he could be more? I think they were gonna wait and see on that.

Clearly things are different this year. Reports are McVay has liked Jimmy G. for a while and Jourdan said you can see the difference at practice when the #2 QB knows and executes the offense so they can run all the same stuff.

Though Jimmy G. is suspended for the first two games. At this point you gotta figure Stetson is Stafford’s backup going into the season…

How this all shakes out, we’ll see.

I have mostly seen Whittington working with Jimmy G though that is significant considering the makeup of the WR room. BY speed and power so far looks good but nothing is real yet for trench guys. I’d like to see a little more 12P but I am constantly reminded how hybrid and versatile their 11P is and I think sometimes people forget that staying in 11 helps them play faster because they don’t have to sub. But situationally yes would love to see those TEs continue to get a lot of work

#Rams rush attempts since Sean McVay has been the Rams’ head coach:

    2017: 454
    2018: 459
    2019: 401
    2020: 473
    2021: 420
    2022: 411
    2023: 477

Expecting 500x this season. Personnel additions support it. Going to punch teams in the mouth and dominate the LOS in 2024-2025.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said a healthy WR Cooper Kupp has been able to put the work in like he normally does, putting together a solid foundation for the start of training camp.
    .
Asked Sean McVay about five NFL teams holding training camps in LA area this year. He said the weather and surrounding setting made for a great location for teams. Rams will hold joint practices twice with Chargers, along with Cowboys and Texans.
