McVay said OT Rob Havenstein and TE Tyler Higbee will be back. He said Rams hoped to resolve some of their own pending free agent situations before free agency begins next week

Sean McVay: Rams will adjust Matthew Stafford’s financial terms under existing extension – operating on a year-to-year basis. He expects this conversation again next year (reiterating he wants Stafford as long as Stafford wants to play). He hopes it takes even less time in 2026.

Interesting comment about McVay being unsentimental on personnel decisions.

Can’t say he’s wrong. I’m going to keep an eye on that idea.

Jordan Whittington, @RamsNFL WR – With 293 receiving yards in 2024, the rookie had the most receiving yards by a Rams rookie WR drafted in the 6th round or later since Bucky Pope (The Catawba Claw) in 1964.

#Rams G Kevin Dotson was following the Matthew Stafford updates just like the fans.

On what makes Stafford special: “He’s easily the toughest QB in the league. He’s done stuff that would have taken me out of the game. I don’t know how he stays in there and still plays well through it.”

I would put Puka Nacua #1, and I don’t care about the rest of them because all of those guys are just system WRs.

Rams have a long history of speed receivers who are surprises for a year or 2 then fade. Sometimes, as with Danario Alexander, it’s injuries. Sometimes they just don’t really develop a whole range of receiver skills. There’s Avery, Givens, Austin, Watkins, Atwell. Cooks to an extent but he had a little more than what I am describing and was a more solid player.

Who was the really real deal as a receiver when it comes to WRs with that kind of top speed? Holt.

Anyway. A lot of us are saying the Rams need outside speed. But that got me thinking of all their “misses” when it comes to that.

The vid in that youtube, the interview with Dotson, is good. He’s smart and a good interview.
