Old. Remember this kind of talk?

One of the more impressive things this year has been how Sean McVay completely reworked the run game. Rams rank 5th in the NFL in success rate this season. They ranked 29th in 2022 and 19th in 2021.J.B. Long@JB_Long

Puka Nacua needs 444 receiving yards in his last 5 games to break the rookie receiving recordDecember 4, 2023 at 1:06 pm #147239znModeratorfrom https://www.turfshowtimes.com/2023/12/4/23987864/rams-aaron-donald-kobie-turner-sack-rookie-records
With 3.5 sacks in the last two games, including 1.5 in the L.A. Rams win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, rookie defensive tackle Kobie Turner was quickly turned around his season from a good one to potentially a great one with five contests left to go. If Turner gets four more sacks in the next five games, he will surpass Aaron Donald’s rookie total of nine sacks in 2014, the modern franchise record for a first-year player.

Top grades on defense:
1 – Aaron Donald, DE: 84.8
Donald finished with a whopping eight pressures, tied for his most in a single game so far this season. He accomplished the same feat earlier this year against the Indianapolis Colts. Donald was consistently in the backfield and was the main disruptor of Joe Flacco while it was a relatively quiet pass rushing day for everyone else.
2 – Ernest Jones, MLB: 79.5
Jones had a very active date on defense and finished with a team-leading 15 total tackles according to the box score. PFF credited the linebacker with eight tackles and three assists. He forced four pressures on Flacco.
3 – John Johnson, DB: 72.6
The Browns targeted Johnson in coverage only a single time, and the veteran safety picked off Flacco and returned the ball deep into Cleveland territory to set up a game-clinching touchdown. It was sweet revenge against his former team that cut him two years into his big free agent contract, and Johnson has been coming on strong of late for LA.
4 – Kobie Turner, DT: 68.1With four pressures, including two sacks (PFF does not credit “half sacks), Turner now has back-to-back games with multiple quarterback takedowns. The defensive tackle is now pushing to break Donald’s rookie sack record, which only signals that good things are in store for this promising individual.

LG Steve Avila – 68.2 | 45.3
C Coleman Shelton – 63.0 | 69.9
RG Kevin Dotson – 60.2 | 44.2
RT Rob Havenstein – 52.0 | 71.29 Pressures Allowed
…
Jackson is now starting to come into his own at left tackle, rookie LG Steve Avila looks to be a cornerstone player for years to come, and RG Kevin Dotson, who currently sports a fantastic PFF score of 88.9, may have been the best trade made by any team in the offseason. This rings even more true when you consider that LA only gave up swapping some mid-to-late round picks between 2024 and 2025 with Pittsburgh to acquire the right guard. In 2024, the Steelers get the Rams’ fourth and the Rams get the Steelers’ fifth, and in 2025, the Steelers get the Rams’ fifth rounder and the Rams get the Steelers’ sixth.

December 4, 2023 at 3:10 pm #147254znModeratorJ.B. Long@JB_LongNo telling where it goes from here, but personally very glad the Rams chose to retool rather than rebuild. So many lasting benefits to this climb back to contention, in my opinion. Performances during this win streak validate they were right to bet on themselves..I’m saying it early specifically because it’s not dependent on the final five outcomes. They swept two divisions foes. Have shown on offense and defense they are worthy of being in playoff contention. Rebuilding with 9 and 99 playing like this would have been unfortunate.December 4, 2023 at 3:17 pm #147255znModeratorSarah Barshop@sarahbarshopRams QB Matt Stafford has three or more passing touchdowns in consecutive games for the first time since Weeks 12-14 of the 2021 season, according toDecember 4, 2023 at 8:12 pm #147265znModeratorBlaine Grisak @bgrisakTSTThe Rams had four players with 4+ pressures on defense yesterday.
