Notes from the Rams' snap counts last night
– Hendo > Akers by a lot
– Fuller is No. 3 safety
– Rams only used 3 CBs
– Skowronek > Tutu https://t.co/kaxyDE2Vda— Cameron DaSilva (@camdasilva) September 9, 2022

September 10, 2022 at 10:03 am #140539ZooeyModeratorIf you need some silver linings for last night's loss…Last year, the Packers lost to the Saints 38-3 to start the season.
Green Bay ended with the No. 1 seed.
One game doesn't define a season.

If the Rams were not ready to play….why not?

September 11, 2022 at 12:30 pm #140551znModeratorWell, well, well.
The Rams were eyeing Jimmy Garoppolo if the 49ers released him https://t.co/uKqQrjD3dt

September 12, 2022 at 1:47 pm #140560znModeratorJourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigueI think Thurs showed they really miss Jefferson not just bc what he can do but how his routes themselves can change covg contours. They could rush four/sit in a hard, cloudy zone all day. Stafford’s nos. tank the most in that scenario + didn’t see many adjustments.as for defense.Everything works better if Rams can rush their even and odd fronts successfully without blitzing. Can keep integrity of the shell to cap explosives, manipulate DB muddiness with extra players available. Can constrict into quick game even under shell (actually have ILBs now!).
It’s why Rams were willing to offer a big contract extension to Von (despite a would not/could not of the 3rd guarantee year bc Kupp, Donald deals were incoming), why the Bills, who also played with a zone shell (tho slightly different type) constricted the Rams’ offense, it’s
why I’ve repeated since March that Rams will have major decision to make ahead of trade deadline with multiple, agile offenses and top QBs on deck after that, week after week. Rush fronts, let ILBs and DBs cook back there.
It’s only Week 1, so plenty of time to figure it out.
Obviously there are a lot more little variables at work inside a defense, and no, this doesn’t mean there aren’t other issues in other areas to solve, bc we know multiple things are true. But, Rams blitzed 28.9% of drops thurs, Bills never rushed > 4 and kept the cap on the back.
September 12, 2022 at 3:24 pm #140562znModeratorJourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigueOutstanding insight from Tremayne Anchrum today, as he prepares for potential first start at guard. Think I learned more about OL play in 12 mins than I could in a few weeks. “Won the press conference” as the saying goes. He’s excited for the opp and ready to prove himself.September 12, 2022 at 6:34 pm #140564znModeratorGreat stat on ESPN: The starting QBs who didn’t play in preseason are 3-7. Russell Wilson, who plays tonight, is the 11th.

September 12, 2022 at 7:08 pm #140566znModeratorMakes the Buffalo loss a little less painful. 49ers loss to Chicago was in conference. Ours and Arizona’s was not.
Lastly, only time this season Seattle will be at the top of the division. pic.twitter.com/NPrsAaIoqS

September 12, 2022 at 11:22 pm #140570znModeratorGotta call it like it is: Former Rams TE coach, and Seahawks OC Shane Waldron, is calling one helluva game against the Broncos tonight.

September 13, 2022 at 6:25 pm #140579znModeratorSean McVay was asked how soon Cam Akers could work back into the mix and he said Cam will "get an opportunity" this week against the Falcons
Have to imagine he gets some more touches than last week https://t.co/XkXTMJDy2r

September 14, 2022 at 10:39 am #140586znModeratorThis offense doesn’t need any sort of overhaul — just tweaks that McVay has implemented in the past to give them a jump start. Expecting to see all of it against Atlanta.
