DeCamillis revealed that he holds “situational masters” meetings every week, and not just for special teams guys.

He has everyone in those meetings, including the quarterbacks.

“I actually have a meeting on situational masters every week, and everybody’s in there, including the quarterbacks,” he said. “So I think what Coach McVay wants to do is empower everybody, but he also knows that because of my position, I’m gonna know situations, I’m gonna know the rules, all those type of things, and it’s been a pretty cool deal being here with him.”

NFL fans be like: Kupp is only good because of his scheme and Matt Stafford, but Matt Stafford is mid and overrated and Sean McVay isn’t a top 10 coach.

The Rams are getting their Super Bowl rings tomorrow in a private ceremony (closed to non-team media and public), ahead of their arrival at 2022 training camp in Irvine over the weekend.

ILB Travin Howard hurt his groin while training offsite and may need surgery, per McVay. He is a PUP candidate but nothing is official yet.

McVay said a few mins ago he didn’t expect additions to PUP other than Howard (but was seeking clarity), and we now have more clarity: Jalen Ramsey, Travin Howard and Kyren Williams will all go on PUP list.  Quentin Lake as well

Sean McVay mentions CB Robert Rochell and WR Tutu Atwell as 2 guys who approached the offseason superbly and made big strides. The Rams need at least one new starting DB, btw.

Sean McVay says Matthew Stafford is indeed on track to throw here in Irvine. Joked that Stafford was more “irritated” about not throwing in the spring than concerned about an injury – but on serious note, adds the Rams are exploring a new world re. sports science/load management

FWIW the expectation has always been that Ramsey will rehab and be ready for reg season opener

WR Van Jefferson played through a knee injury through the last part of the Rams’ season. He had a small procedure to clean it up, rehabbed through the spring and is “100% healthy”, cleared and ready to go for year 3.

    from PFF:

The 50 best players in the NFL right now

    https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-pff50-ranking-50-best-players-2022

    1. DI AARON DONALD, LOS ANGELES RAMS

Donald is the best player in football and is increasing his all-time legacy with each passing season. It’s difficult to quantify his standing alongside such greats as “Mean” Joe Greene, Alan Page, Reggie White and Lawrence Taylor without PFF data and grading for those legends of the game. Nonetheless, at the very least, the gap between the best to ever do it and Donald is negligible at this point. Donald once again led all defenders in PFF grade last season (93.5) and took over the Super Bowl on the final drive to secure a championship for the Rams.

    13. WR COOPER KUPPLOS ANGELES RAMS

Kupp stepped up last season as a truly dominant force across the board for the Rams. Once seen as a slot receiver only, Kupp dominated in all areas, including on the outside against press coverage. He was the only receiver in the league who gained more than 3.0 yards per route run (3.12) and caught over 50% of his contested targets.

    14. CB JALEN RAMSEYLOS ANGELES RAMS

Ramsey continued to excel in 2021 despite playing in a new role, producing his best overall PFF grade since his career year in 2017 for Jacksonville. Ramsey lined up in the slot or in the box on more than double the snaps he did a year ago, and it meant he racked up 25 defensive stops, 12 pass breakups and four interceptions in the regular season.

A third point of clarity from Sean McVay: Jalen Ramsey is NOT on PUP. Team wants him available in strictly install and doctors felt health-wise he could be involved in that regard. Still on a specific plan with Sept. 8 clearance in mind.
