This quote from Lions GM Brad Holmes as me arching an eyebrow this morning“Before the trade, I remember (Rams GM) Les (Snead) asked me if I wanted Jared and I said, ‘Yes, I do want Jared.’ He said, ‘Ok, I’m just asking because I’m getting a lot of calls.’
June 18, 2021 at 5:31 pm #130530znModeratorDuring an appearance on “The Hook,” [Calvin] Johnson discussed Stafford’s departure from Detroit and said he talked to the quarterback recently, who told him that he’s doing well in Los Angeles.
“I was talking to Matthew yesterday. Matthew’s doing well, I’m happy for him because he’s happy that he’s out in California,” Johnson said. “Him and his beautiful family there, they’re loving their time out there. So when he’s comfortable, he’s good where he’s at, you can only expect good things from him, so I look forward to seeing him out there.”
Then Johnson gave Rams receiver Van Jefferson a shoutout, saying Van’s dad, Shawn Jefferson, was his wide receivers coach in Detroit.
“Plus on top of that, we’ve got a friend out there in Van Jefferson,” he said. “Shawn Jefferson, he was my receivers coach in Detroit for a long time. His son’s playing with Matthew now, so that’s pretty cool.”

Right – and, I think people underestimate how much team personnel talk with each other, even during the season. But if people didn’t already think something was brewing, those couple weeks lit the beacons of Gondor.June 18, 2021 at 5:35 pm #130532znModeratorSee that little stutter before Jason Verrett breaks? That’s a corner playing with anticipation. Feeling the route. He knew what it was. If he would’ve jumped it when he felt it that might be to the crib lol. 1. Jalen Ramsey
Los Angeles Rams
The most bodacious cover corner in the game claims his spot as the NFL’s ultimate CB1. Ramsey not only possesses rare physical traits that make it nearly impossible for a receiver to escape the line untouched, but he is a refined technician with superb instincts and awareness on the island. The two-time All-Pro surrendered just 32 receptions and gave up fewer than 25 receiving yards in 11 contests in 2020, per PFF.June 20, 2021 at 5:16 pm #130546znModeratorDo the Rams have a top-5 offense? pic.twitter.com/NoHmMPVzuZ

June 21, 2021 at 8:28 am #130550znModeratorMcVay has raved about Stafford all offseason, but he got especially candid in an interview with Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. [interview = here:https://www.si.com/nfl/2021/06/21/mmqb-sean-mcvay-expectations-burnout-covid-protocol-vaccines ]
“Bro, this dude’s a bad MF-er,” McVay told Breer, laughing. “Whatever people say about him, as good as it can be, he’s even better than advertised. It makes sense to him. The guy’s ability to see the game, his ability to draw on his experiences, the feel that he has, it’s pretty special and unique. And man, his feel for people, his authentic way of connecting with his teammates, his coaches, this guy, it’s great being around him.”

Los Angeles Rams
TE Jacob Harris
Tyler Higbee was sidelined for the offseason program, which allowed Harris, a fourth-round pick from Central Florida, to take significant reps throughout voluntary and minicamp practices. “Jacob Harris is a guy who has definitely stood out,” Rams coach Sean McVay said. “Just his overall speed, athleticism, you kind of feel him on the field.” McVay cautioned that Harris, who is 6-foot-5, 211 pounds and played receiver in college, must be evaluated outside of 7-on-7 play, but also commended his improvement since arriving in L.A. Harris will compete with second-year pro Brycen Hopkins and Johnny Mundt for playing time behind Higbee. — Lindsey Thiry
June 21, 2021 at 6:04 pm #130560znModeratorDon’t forget about Darrell Henderson! Last season Henderson showcased that he can be an explosive runner with an ability to move the chains. When his number was called upon he was very consistent and productive. Excited to see him back with the team in 2021 pic.twitter.com/L2TMfWw7Hq

June 22, 2021 at 12:52 pm #130575znModeratorNFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt went about ranking the top 10 new quarterback-wide receiver combos heading into the 2021 season.
Coming in at No. 10: Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
“Of the two of (Robert Woods and Kupp), I have an especially positive inkling about Kupp to thrive as the passing attack bounces back from a relatively down year; just take a gander at this nifty practice-field connection between the two,” Brandt wrote as part of his analysis.

If you notice on the 2nd & 3rd touchdown, Faulk is lined up as the outside Wide Receiver… So versatile. Many think he could have made a good living as a WR if he so chose to.
